The Red Dragon

BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch

Isabella's Point Of View

"Somehow I just knew that you would one day return, I guess it was worth all the wait." The voice spoke again, a fluent Asian accent prominent in his voice.

I remember that man. I remember that voice and that fucking crooked smile.

'The red dragon'

I announced and immediately Dimitri spared me a concerned look. He looked really furious, glaring at the man with burning eyes.

"Look at you, You've grown so much. When I first saw you then you were just a scared little girl and now you're a grown woman." He heaved, taking in my scent. I shudder a bit watching him.

"Back then you begged me to spare your life. You were so little, so vulnerable---" I cut him off.

"I'm not that little and vulnerable girl anymore. I don't beg anyone." I grit out, shaking as I remember memories of me begging and living in fear from every monster that wanted me dead. But not anymore, I'm not the same person I was back then. I have changed so much since then.

"Hmm, maybe. But I would still love to make you beg like a dog." He uttered, bitterly with a sinister  smile.

"Watch your tongue!" My head snaps towards Dimitri as his voice booms, cutting through the silent night air. He looked really pissed, he was scary when angry.

"And who might you be?" The red dragon asked unamused, assessing Dimitri from head to toe. I could feel Dimitri shake in anger beside me.

"I'm Dimitri Axel Castellan, the blood Alpha, the last remaining Lycan wolf and the one who will end your life!" Dimitri threatened him with killer eyes.

A loud laugh erupted in the air.

“No wonder you looked very familiar. Dimitri Castellan you do not scare me. I have lived far longer than you could imagine and I have encountered many other of your lycan kind back in my years, and they all thought they could out match me, they were wrong." The red dragon countered confidently.

"I'm going to have a lot of fun killing you, blood Alpha." He added, disrespectfully. He began undoing his shirt, revealing a long set of tattoos and drawings, running all around his body. From his back up to his neck. It was a tattoo of a red dragon.

The red dragon shut his eyes, letting out a smoky breath. When his eyes reopened they were green with a black slit in-between, like that of a serpent.

Sharp and pointy wings ripped out from the back of his flesh. Long horns protrude from his head, I watched as he transformed into a fucking huge red dragon. The enormous red dragon bore down on us with a deafening roar. Its massive scales glinted in the rising twilight. He let out a loud shriek, then its fiery breath licked at the air, scorching the ground beneath its colossal form.

Dimitri grabs my hand, moving me out of harm's way as we run away from the dragon's heat waves. As the dragon lunged forward, its immense form blotted out the sky, as he pursued us.

"You can't run from me forever!" The red dragon voice boomed.

The air crackled with tension as the dragon's snarling maw spewed forth searing flames, casting a fiery glow. I hummed a spell summoning protective wards to shield us from the dragon's relentless assault. We hid behind a car, both of us paused catching our breaths.

"Do you think we lost him?" I asked Dimitri, as he peeped through the other corner.

"Not for long. We need to attack him first." He answered.

"He is the red dragon of China, he is like a fucking god and is worshipped there." I began to tell all the information I had on our enemy. Dragons in the ancient times were glorified and worshiped by mortals. They were offered gold and jewelries for their protection from their enemies. Dragons loved gold and possessed god-like powers, they all belonged to a conclave. The Khroma Conclave and the red dragon was like an emperor to the Khroma Conclave. They could shift at will to both human forms whenever they wished. Later, they were hunted by humans and were almost driven extinct.

"Dragons according to the myth and children books can only be slayed by a blade infused with magic, too bad I don't have the escobar with me right now." Dimitri said feeling hopeless and pissed.

I drew out my mother's silver dagger I always had on my ankle. "We can use this." I drew it out of its sheaths. “It belonged to my mother and was made with a lot of powerful magic. It isn't the ideal fairytale sword but it will do.”

"I guess it will do. You need to strike him at the point that he is most vulnerable. At his weakest spot. His throat." Dimitri debriefed. I remember reading about something like this. Dragons can only be slayed by hitting their weakest point, which was at their neck. I needed to strike it's throat.

"Got it." I nod, about to stand. He grabs my hand, pulling me back to him. His eyes look into mine and I can see the concern in them.

"Be careful." He says, his fingertips on my cheeks.

"I will, don't worry.” I plant a soft kiss on his lips. “I'll run that way and you go through the right." I told him it was better to separate so we could confuse our enemy.

"Alright, let's do this." Dimitri stood up screaming at the red dragon so it gave him its attention.

“I'm right over here you fucking asshole!” Dimitri yelled.

The red dragon flew at him pouring out flames on his trail. In a flash Dimitri disappeared into a black smoke and was behind the dragon.

"Over here!" He said, whistling, getting its attention yet again. The red dragon snapped his eyes on Dimitri, annoyed. He continued spewing hot fire but missed again as Dimitri easily disappeared to another direction. He was succeeding in distracting the dragon.

Dimitri danced nimbly around the dragon, using his lycan agility to evade its deadly claws and snapping jaws. With each swift, calculated strike, he sought to weaken the creature's resolve, aiming for the vulnerable spots amidst the impenetrable armor of its scales.

Suddenly, Dimitri lunged at the red dragon, slashing his face with his sharp claws. The red dragon shrieked in anger as he tried to throw Dimitri off but missed as Dimitri dodged the dragon's flailing talons. Dimitri continued assaulting the dragon, managing to bring him lower to the ground. This was my cue to strike.

I ran with incredible fast speed, lifting up in the air, flying as quick as a bullet, aiming for his throat. I plunged my dagger into his throat, particularly at the softest place I could get.

He shrieked in pain, thrashing me away, I landed down gracefully on my feet.

The red dragon ripped out the dagger from his throat, tossing it to the ground like it was nothing but a useless toy.

"You think you can kill me with a pesky knife? I AM THE RED DRAGON!!! I'M A GOD! You can't stop me, Now watch your mate die." The red dragon turned to Dimitri, about to release fire at him.

"No!!!" I scream, my voice echoing with a thousand voices. I could feel so much energy, so much power.

My eyes blazed with arcane energy as I called upon the forces of nature, conjuring roots and vines to ensnare the dragon's powerful limbs, momentarily halting its advances.

I called upon the elements, conjuring swirling gusts of wind and crackling lightning to assail the dragon, forcing it to retract its fiery breath. I let out a powerful amount of magic causing the red dragon to crash into the ground.

There was a massive quake on the ground with a strong hurricane blowing. The sky gave into my powers as a lightning storm brewed.

I chanted ancient incantations I wasn't aware of, weaving a protective barrier around me as flames and searing heat washed over me from the dragon's breath. My eyes narrowed with concentration as I bolstered my magical defenses, pushing against the relentless onslaught of the dragon's fiery assault.

The dragon, undaunted by my efforts, unleashed a torrent of scorching flames, causing the very air to shimmer and distort with its blistering heat.

Amidst the chaos, my eyes flared with blinding light, channeling the elements as I unleashed a torrential downpour that doused the dragon's fiery breath and bathed the battlefield in a deluge of water and ice, a dragon opposite the natural element. The red dragon recoiled, its furious roars echoing through the clearing as it struggled against the newfound elements working against it.

Seizing the opportunity, Dimitri lunged forward with primal determination, sinking his razor-sharp fangs deep into the dragon's exposed underbelly. With a triumphant growl, he tore at the creature's flesh, unleashing a savage barrage of strikes that weakened its once invincible defenses.

The red dragon gauged me with the familiar look of fear. He was at its most vulnerable moment, I could tell.

As the dragon bellowed in agony, its fiery breath faltering, I seized the opportunity, brandishing the gleaming silver dagger with ancient runes etched along its blade. I fused my magic into the blade, empowering it with vast amounts of magical energy.

With a swift and unfaltering motion, I darted forward, my eyes blazing with determination as I delved the enchanted dagger deep into the red dragon's exposed throat, pushing it deep in. The dragon shuddered, its green eyes widening in stunned disbelief as my decisive strike sent waves of magical energy coursing through its ancient form.

It let out a painful roar, as it stumbled backwards, struggling for balance. A trail of white lines developed all around his body, like cracks struggling to break through.

“H-how is this p-possible?” His weak voice sounded. His red scales were peeling off one after the other.

My hands opened, calling my dagger back. The red dragon groaned in more pain.

“I am no longer the weak little girl I used to be.” I said determinedly.

The red dragon then exploded in a white light, only traces left behind were the ashes that continued to shower down like snow.

I staggered back, losing my balance. My eyes were closing up, I felt drained from the amount of energy I used up. Before I could fall, I felt Dimitri's strong hands grab hold of me.

“Isabelle, I got you!” He said carrying me in his arms, I rested my head on his broad chest, taking in his strong forest scent.

I knew I could never fall as long as I had him beside me, we could overcome anything together.

“Let's go home.” He said to me,

Yes, home. I like that idea, take me home.
