BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch
Isabella's Point Of View
I SLOWLY OPENED MY eyes, my vision blurred and disoriented as I struggled to grasp my surroundings, with an insanely destructive headache.
As my senses gradually sharpened, I was greeted by a soft, warm light filtering through the opened window, it was dusk time and I was in my room, back at the pack. I tried to recall the events leading to this moment, only to find fragmented memories and a pervasive sense of disconnection.
I remember the red dragon, Dimitri and I fought him and I killed him. I fell unconscious on the way back home. That's all that I can recall.
Then, like a gentle breeze stirring the fog from my mind, my gaze fell upon the figures standing beside my bed, it was Iris and Gemini. Their eyes sparkled with relief and unspoken concern.
"Isabelle, you're awake!" Gemini said as soon as she noticed that I had regained consciousness.
"She's awake." Iris announced to herself. "We've been waiting for you. We were so worried." Iris whispered.
Dimitri appeared with Celeste behind him. He looked at me with worry and anger burning in his eyes at the same time.
"What happened?" I asked, looking at Dimitri with the intense look in his eyes. He gives me an unreadable stare, was his anger directed at me?
"Celeste, is she alright?" Dimitri spoke, ignoring my question.
Celeste moved over beside me, with her hand stretched above my head. She was examining me with magic. I must have gone unconscious after fighting with the red dragon. Killing him took a lot out of me.
"Don't worry Dimitri. I'm fine." I said but fell silent upon his cold gaze.
"Celeste, is she okay?" Dimitri asked not paying me any attention.
"She isn't fully yet recovered, her aura is still very weak," Celeste said to my dismay. I could sense Dimitri growling a bit, with his burning gaze fixated at me. "But she is fine, she only needs a little rest." Celeste added.
"I must say, Luna's recovery is incredibly astonishing. No witch should still be living after using up the vast amount of magic as you did. Your magic was powerful enough to defeat the red dragon, it's beyond impressive." Celeste smiles at me.
"Don't encourage her, Celeste. She almost got herself killed. Again." Dimitri grunted disapprovingly. He was really mad at me.
"Everyone out. That will be all." Everybody left the room on Dimitri's orders. I knew I was in trouble this time.
I look to Iris for help, she mouths to me 'Have fun!'. Oh goddess, this time I knew I was in deep trouble.
Now everyone had left the room, only Dimitri and I remained. Everywhere was silent as he stared at me with his arms crossed. I felt like I was melting under his gaze.
Why was he even so angry at me? It's not like I wanted to harm myself on purpose. The red dragon was about to kill him, I couldn't just stand and watch something bad happen to him.
This silence was killing me, I needed to say something.
"I'm okay⦠Truly. There is no reason to be worried." I managed to say.
"I'm your mate Isabella, I always worry about you. Even when you are happy, sad or even when you cut yourself off and get lost in your own thoughts. But I can't stand seeing you hurt and unconscious Isabella. I can't keep letting you put yourself in life threatening situations, draining yourself to protect others. Isabella, I can't lose you."
"You are not going to lose me." I get on my feet and go to him. "And there are always going to be potentially life threatening situations, there's not really anything we can do about that, but I know as long as we are together we can overcome them all." I place my hands around his neck, taking in his hazel orb eyes. I could feel his body vibrate upon my touch, he was struggling not to lose control of his wolf.
"In five days the blood moon will rise and you and the pack will be free from the curse that tormented you and hopefully my mother's grimoire can lead me to uncover whatever my aunt is planning. I have a feeling that mother left something in there that she wants me to find. Nothing bad is going to happen to me." I assure him. I wasn't worried about anything, I knew we could survive anything as long as we were together. When the blood moon comes the pack will be free and I will find Delilah and finally kill her and then hopefully I will be able to convince Diego about Delilah's deceit.
"You know that I will go crazy if I ever lost you." Dimitri muttered softly, his eyes staring me down.
"I know." I reply to him with a smile.
"I want you to make me a promise." Dimitri said, pulling me closer that only our breaths are what stands between us. "Promise me you won't ever do anything that will put yourself at risk. Next time, even if I'm dying, don't try saving me. I don't want you to harm yourself to save me. Promise me you won't ever risk your life."
"I promise." I say hesitantly. "Now shut up and kiss me." I feel him pull me to him, his tongue diving in first claiming it's territory, claiming me.
I kiss him back with a burning desire like no other. I'm sure he could feel the need in my kisses as I could his.
Before we could go any further as I would have liked, there was a knock on the door, interrupting our moment.
Dimitri let out an annoyed hiss, as he reluctantly pulled away from me.
"Who is that?!" He growled while I tried to hide my laughter.
Lance entered into the room, sparing Dimitri and I an hesitant look. He knew he was interrupting something he shouldn't have.
"Um⦠My apologies Alpha. I'll just leave." He managed to say awkwardly, retreating.
"There's no need for that Lance, since you are already here, what is it?" Dimitri asked.
"Rafael just sent a reminder for his masquerade ball tonight." Lance said.
Ah yes, I had almost forgotten that we had gotten invited by Rafael and Sheila for a ball. It was tonight. Rafael was up to something, I had an eerie feeling about this.
"Are you up for this?" Dimitri turned to me. He was still worried about me. I haven't completely regained my strength but this was important. We needed to find out what Rafael was planning, this was our chance. Something big was going to happen at this ball. I had a bad feeling.
"Yes. We need to figure out what Rafael is up to." I answer.
"Alright then, Let's get ready. We wouldn't want to show up late to the ball." Dimitri smirks.
This was going to be one hell of a ball.
