The Masquerade ball pt2

BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch

Dimitri's Point Of View

The room smells of cigarettes and whiskey-- as the auctioneer coordinated the bid organized by Rafael. A young girl in a torn dress, stood, with a chain clinging tightly around her neck. The auction was nothing more than a slave trade, Rafael was selling werewolves and human alike--- men, women and children, like they were just a bunch of animals. It was just disgusting.

"Thirty-five thousand, five hundred." Rashnikov said, lifting up a board. He was the Alpha of a little pack up north, the skull pack, nothing more than mafias in furry clothing if you asked me. His mate looked quite decent, Antonia was her name, I saw her approaching my little witch before I left.

"Thirty-five thousand five hundred dollars, going…" the auctioneer spoke, searching for anyone with a higher bid among the crowd of Alphas.

"Fifty thousand!" Another pathetic alpha chorused, countering the prior bid. His name was Chase, Alpha of the Nok pack, they moved from Africa, finally settling here in Europe.

"Going for fifty thousand… Going…. Going… Sold!" The auctioneer banged his gavel loudly, accepting the highest offer. The girl was dragged away, she was now the property of Alpha Chase, only the goddess knows what is going to happen to the poor human now, best scenario couldn't be anything good. Before she was dragged away, she gave me a pleading look. I looked away from her violet eyes.

This was a waste of my time. Coming here was a mistake, I should leave.

"Alpha Dimitri, you haven't bought any slave since the bid started, don't any of these girls interest you? Don't worry, Isabella doesn't need to know anything." Rafael spoke carelessly to me. I could feel my blood boil at his words, against Luca's desperate wish to rip out his tongue I calmed myself down. Although a voiceless Rafael was a nice thought.

"Not that, I just don't like rolling in filth!" The other Alphas fell silent after hearing my words. A soft chuckle appeared on my face as I stared the other Alphas down, my power and authority dominating them.

"If there isn't any other issues to discuss, I will be going now." I said, turning away to the door.

"There is one more business proposal I think will be beneficial to you Alpha. Myself and the other Alphas have been thinking that it is about time for the power in the council to shift. We are planning a coup to overthrow Valor." Rafael spat blatantly, as everyone watched me quietly observing my reaction to their mediocre plan.

"So that's why I am really here. You want me to join your ploy to take down Valor." I added.

"Exactly. It's time we let Valor take a rest, don't you think?" Rafael asks.

"Let me guess, you all have already brilliantly decided on the person to take over once Valor is deposed?" I said, with obvious sarcasm in my voice. The answer to this was obvious.

"Yes Alpha Dimitri--- or should I say---- Supreme Alpha Dimitri." Rafael said with a small bow.

"It's you, you are the one meant for the title not Valor, you were meant to ascend your father's throne but Valor snatched it. Most Alphas agree that you are the last living lycan and only one worthy for the throne." Rafael continued, with his crooked smile in place.

So this was why this was only a gathering of set of greedy and blood thirsty Alphas and why they a have been kissing my fucking ass all night. They wanted me to take out Valor and become the Supreme Alpha. They were foolish to ever think that I would betray Valor, he and I had some differences and I didn't quite agree on everything he did but he was the one who taught me all that I knew, he was my father's closest friend and the closest thing I had to a father since mine died. I would never turn against him.

"If you think that I would ever betray Valor, then you are fucking out of your mind than I thought." I say, earning a confused and disappointed look from Rafael and the other Alphas.

"You all might have let your greed and ambitions for power cloud your reasoning but I haven't. I won't betray Valor for power." I grit out furiously, as I stormed out of the room.

"For all of your sakes I will pretend like this conversation never happened, or maybe I will just let Valor know what you have been planning." I smirk, leaving the room.

I was in an empty hallway, heading to find my mate so we could leave this god-damned party. But I couldn't feel her, in fact she was no longer in the building, something was wrong.

At the corner of my eyes, I noticed trained footsteps rushing for me hastily. Before whoever it was could attack me I spun around, wrapping my claws around his throat.

He grunted, I could see his black stained lips and tongue.

The children of Shanahara.

'But how is that even possible?' I hear Luca chime within me. The shanahara pack were all annihilated in the black flames centuries ago. The black flame was a magical plague created by our sworn enemies. The vampires, with the help of a witch, they made a airborne virus to kill our kind.

He swiftly pulled out a silver scythe, aiming for my throat. Wrong move there.

I held his hand firmly, he was strong but I was way stronger, he couldn't even compare. I ripped off his right arm, smiling at the gruesome amount of pain he was in.

Next, I ripped his throats out with my claws.

There was only one person I knew who could hire a bunch of wolves to kill me. Someone I had just turned down his offer on an alliance.

'Rafael!' My wolf Luca growled.

I kicked the wooden doors open, causing everyone in the room to stare at me like I had gone mad. Maybe I had gone mad, mad with anger.

I threw the head of the wolf I had just killed on the floor, earning some murmurs from the guests.

"Rafael!!!" I roar, my eyes pinned on his wretched and pale looking face, I could smell the fear reeking off him.

In a flash I was in front of him, my hands squeezing tight to his neck, his eyes bulging.

"You dare send a wolf to kill me!" I grit furiously, my eyes flaring a bright red color. Luca was in control now, the countdown to Rafael's death had already begun. He only had a few seconds left before his head would be detached from his body.

"I-it wasn't me…" he choked out. "I s-swear I'm t-telling you the t-truth." He choked out.

He wasn't lying, I could sense it.

I let go of his throat. If it wasn't him then who would have wanted me dead?

"We also found a dead body in the restroom. Alpha Rashnikov's mate was found dead." Rafael explained. Antonia, the children of Shanahara murdered her. I remembered seeing her keeping Isabelle company before I left.

'She was with Mate!' Luca roared.

"Where is Isabelle?!" I questioned him.

"I have no idea." He responded to me truthfully.

This means whoever sent the children of Shanahara wasn't only after me, they were also after Isabelle as well. I have to find my mate.

I run, letting my wolf track her scent. It was leading outside the building, into the woods. I could scent her blood in the air, she was bleeding. This sent my mind into a state of worry. I needed to get to her, now.

'Just hang on Isabelle, I'm coming!'

Isabella Point Of View

This was indeed a tough and bloody fight!

It seems as if the more Shanahara mercenaries I killed the more they came back.

I was circled by five assassins pointing their scythe at me. I stood calculating their next move, three ran for me and I flew high in the air, with a swipe of my hands their heads fell off their body. My eyes redirecting on the remaining two, I sent a pang of pain to their mind, watching as they crumbled to their knees screaming.

Finally it was over, Diego just snapped the last mercenary neck. The night was quiet, the only thing heard was our heavy breathing.

"Are you okay?" I asked, he seemed okay, ever since I knew this version of my cousin he barely showed any emotion, none whatsoever. The closest emotion I could feel from him was strong hatred for me.

"Yes." He responds, his tilted head looking at the blood on my arm.

"Don't worry, it isn't mine." I said.

"Who said I was worried?" Diego muttered, turning his back against me as he moved into the darkness.

"Diego," I called, succeeding in halting his steps, but he didn't turn to me.

"Thank you for helping me." I whispered, trying to fight back the tears. How did we end up on opposite sides in this war? As kids we were so close and now we were as close as enemies.

"Don't get used to it. The next time we meet we will be on opposite sides and I will try to kill you." He spoke coldly.

"How did we get here? To this point where we are on opposite sides. Tu eres mi sangre, Tu eres mi familia." I say to him, hoping I could reach him somehow. I knew the loving and sweet cousin I knew was still there.

"You are no longer my family!!! That family died when you lost control of your cursed magic and murdered our entire coven." He screamed, looking at me with fire in his eyes.

No he was wrong, that wasn't true. I didn't kill our family, Delilah did. She destroyed our lives.

"You have to believe me, whatever lies Delilah must have told you isn't true. She murdered our family, I watched as she killed everyone. You need to realize that you are making a big mistake before it gets too late." I say.

Why doesn't he remember? He was there that night, she was the one who attacked our entire coven. Is it possible that his memory has been altered with magic.

"Lies. You are the one lying to me, she found me hiding in the floorboards where mother hid me, she saved me. Aunt Delilah would never do anything like that. She warned me that you would say something like this. My mother always knew you had a darkness in you, she told aunt Amelia to bind your magic before it was too late but aunt Amelia thought you could fight it, she was so wrong. You have darkness in you Isabelle." He spat at me venomously.

"Diego," I tried to touch him,but he pulled away.

"Stay back." He stepped away. "I hope for your sake we never get the misfortune of crossing paths again, because the next time I won't be trying to keep you alive."

"Diego, please don't do this." I beg him, I can't lose him again.

"Isabella!" I heard Dimitri scream from a distance.

I turned around, by the time I looked back Diego was gone.

"Isabella, are you okay?" he asked, his eyes scanning me to be sure.

"Yeah," I groaned.

"You are hurt." He said, holding my arm which was bleeding. I didn't really notice it, for some reason I couldn't even feel the pain.

"Don't worry. It doesn't really hurt." I assure him. My words calmed him down.

"We need to leave now. Your blood will signal monsters after you." Dimitri made a good point. Right now I was exposed, any monster or supernatural could pick up my scent and know I was the gifted one. We needed to get to somewhere safe.

I stared at the dead bodies of wolves and humans on the ground, the Shanahara mercenaries really put up a good fight, but who sent them after us? This was still remained a mystery.

"Did you find out who sent them after us?" I asked.

"No, not yet but it wasn't Rafael." Dimitri replied, giving me a hand as I navigated my way over a werewolf corpse. If it wasn't Rafael then who could it be, it couldn't be my aunt Delilah because why would Diego help me then. It had to be someone else that was willing to risk it all to get rid of Dimitri and I.

I heard a noise behind, Dimitri could hear it too. It was one of the assassins, he survived but was wounded, limping away.

In a flash, Dimitri was standing in front of him with an intimidating stare that could make the strongest man shit his pants. His eyes were burning red, the assassin quivered in fear as Dimitri gripped his throat roughly.

"Speak, don't speak, it doesn't really matter because you won't leave here alive but at least I can make your death quick and painless which honestly will be boring for me. But the other way which is my favorite will be nothing like quick and painless, I will make you suffer till you beg for your meaningless life to end." Dimitri threatened calmly, with a sinister smirk. I stood close beside him with crossed hands, just observing and studying his effective method of interrogation.

"I would choose quick and painless if I were you." I inputted with a smile.

"Who sent the order to have us killed?" Dimitri questioned, but got no reply from the assassin. This was going to be bad for him now.

"I was really hoping you would choose this." Dimitri grinned as he grabs his head, his claws digging into the assassin's face, reaching in deep to see all the information he needed.

The Shanahara mercenary screamed out loud as blood poured out from his eyes and nose. Dimitri was damaging his mind in the process so that his death would be excruciatingly painful.

Dimitri let out a gasp, as he let go of the dead assassin. What did he see? His eyes looked puzzled in deep thoughts. Something was wrong with him.

"Dimitri, what's wrong?" I inquired, facing him to stare into his eyes.

"It was Valor---" That's all he could say.

"Valor was the one who sent the mercenaries to kill us." He added.

Valor sent them after us, but why? Why did he want us dead?

(Post credit scene)

Third point of view

"The girl's got the gift." Rafael said, speaking to a woman shrouded in a red cloak of mystery and danger. Her presence alone made death shake in fear, with dark powers unmatched by any other witch.

Delilah stood in the shadows, her black hair falling straightly on her shoulders. her dark eyes and red lips pursed in a thin line. She was astonished by how powerful her niece had become, she needed to destroy her now and finally take the family ancestral powers that Isabelle possessed.

Yennefer and Diego were also in the room, seated on the couch, just watching in silence.

"So much power and she hasn't even scratched the surface of her true potential. She doesn't even know how to control it." Yennefer added, taking a sip from her glass of cold whiskey annoyed. Yennefer was Delilah's right hand, who had successfully infiltrated the Blood Moon pack where she met Gabe, her mate. That was a little detail she left out from her master, Yennefer knew the cost of being part of the red circle, love was seen as weakness and if her master knew about Gabe she would have him killed and Yennefer couldn't allow that to happen.

"She is my niece after all. She has our family's ancestral magic flowing in her veins and is gifted by the moon goddess. She has enough power to end the world." Delilah sneered, as she tapped on her blood diamond ring. She hated how powerful her niece was. She hated the fact that Isabelle was a constant reminder of her sister Amelia whom she despised greatly, she hated that Isabelle possessed so much power that should be hers, well soon enough she would claim that power for herself. Then she would be the greatest witch ever.

This was only the beginning of Delilah's plan. First she needed to form an alliance, conceived from greed with Rafael. She teamed up with Rafael to ensure she succeeds in return; he would get what he desired more than anything in the world, to be Supreme Alpha--- it was a win for both of them.

She had already succeeded in taking the onyx pendant from Isabella during the attack on the blood moon pack, now all that remained was setting the dark one free from the pendant that imprisoned her.

"Do you think that this would be enough for Dimitri to want to kill Valor, the old bastard was a fatherly figure to him." Rafael curiously asked.

"Of course. Valor did try to kill him and his mate after all and he would do anything to keep his little witch safe." Delilah answered. She knew very well that the war between Dimitri and Valor had already begun. There was no turning back now, only one of them would survive.

"Then you get what you want, the power of Isabella and her blood. Then after that I get to have her for myself." Rafael grinned.

"Hmm, of course." She smiled, deviously, she had a much more different plan and it didn't involve giving Rafael her niece.

"All I need from her is her blood. I already have the pendant. On the blood moon I will be able to release the dark one from the cage she has been trapped in. Soon the dark one will be walking among us." Delilah grinned. She was so close in achieving her goal, soon she would be the most powerful witch in all of history.

"So what is the next phase? For the dark one to be free and our plans to succeed, the lycan needs to fall. With the chosen one by his side he is growing stronger by the second and we can't have that."

"They still haven't figured out the way to break their curse and the blood moon is in five days. Your lycan will be dead before then and you will rule. I always keep my word but we can't rush things any further, everything needs to go accordingly as planned." She grinned, her red lips stretching to the corner of her eyes.

"How do you know this for sure?" Rafael asks.

"All you need to know is that the only thing greater than love is hate, but when the two go hand in hand it results can be devastating. There is someone in the Blood Moon pack that would do anything for Isabella to just disappear, I made her my ally." Diego watched in terror as Delilah grinned wickedly. He had been having conflicting thoughts about the plans Delilah had for his cousin. He had to admit, he still felt something aside from hatred for her. He wanted to make her suffer but the plans his aunt Delilah had were dark, too dark for even him. Ever since he was little he had hated Isabelle for killing his family and wanted revenge, but speaking with her tonight made him wonder if he had been wrong all along. Was his anger and vengeance stopping him from seeing the truth? He wanted to warn her about the storm coming her way.
