He was wild with desire, wanting her so badly that he could snap her in half.

But he thought he was hallucinating because he missed her so much.

Holden handed him a file.

“We’ve investigated. The day Darlene left Greenfield Gardens, she hooked up with a guy. She definitely got knocked

up by that dude, not from our Raymond lineage. If you’ve been intimate with Maja, you should know how it feels to

be with another woman. You can’t possibly not notice.”

lan fell silent. After their intimate moment that night, he had a hunch she was going to leave, so he held her from

behind, asking her not to go.

He had one too many drinks that night, alcohol blurred the lines between reality and dream.

He quickly checked the surveillance footage from that night. Maja left just as Darlene arrived.

He was satiated by his sexual encounter and had no desire for another woman.

lan’s bodyguard, following his instructions, picked her up, took her outside, and put her in the car.

They might bury her alive or take her to the middle of nowhere and kill her.

Darlene was shaking all over, her face was drained of color out of fear.

if anything happens to that dog, there’s no way you two are getting back together! That dog was a gift to her from

a boy she likes.”

The last sentence hit lan like a lightning bolt.

He looked up blankly, gripping the sides of the wheelchair tightly.
