Chapter 218
A Farewell After Being Reborn
Sage lowered her head and noticed a bruise on lanâs waist. He mustâve gotten it from bumping into the
corner of the table when he carried her out of the bar.
the
She didnât think much of it when Calvin mentioned it the other day. But looking at it now, bruise stood
out starkly against lanâs fair skin. Sage could only imagine how painful it mustâve been at the time.
âIf you feel bad about it, why donât you apply the ointment for me tonight?â lan suggested. However,
Sage, who was sporting a look of concern just a moment ago, immediately rolled her eyes at him.
âDream on.â He was rendered speechless.
The food was in the form of a buffet. Sage reluctantly accepted Ianâs offer to carry the plates while she
chose the food. Their âlovingâ behavior attracted a lot of attention.
Everyone in Holcomb Corporation would undoubtedly know how deeply in love she and lan were after
that day.
Tiana and Calvin returned with several stacks of barbecue after Ian and Sage sat down at the table
with their food.
âIâm starving! Soaking in the hot springs sure makes you hungry!â Tiana exclaimed as she handed
Sage two enormous grilled prawns. âI got you your favorites. Arenât I considerate?â Sage was well
aware that she was attempting to make amends for what had happened earlier, so she glared at Tiana.
âMhm, you are oh so considerate. Thank you!â
âDonât mention it. Letâs eat!â Tiana immediately started gnawing on a drumstick.
Peeling shrimp was a bit of a chore, so Sage decided to go for a drumstick instead. After all, it was just
as delicious and didnât need to be peeled.
âMrs. Holcomb, I thought Ms. Ford said you loved grilled shrimp the most. Why arenât you eating
them?â Calvin asked.
Sage took a bite of the drumstick and mumbled, âIâm too lazy to peel the shrimp.â
Tiana chuckled. âOh, sheâs the kind of person who finds it troublesome to peel the shrimp for herself,
but she would gladly peel a whole plateful for a certain someone.â
Sage glared at Tiana. âOh, hush it you.â
All of a sudden, Ian remembered that whenever he had gone home for dinner in the past, the shrimp on
the plate had always been peeled. The shrimp were always arranged around the plate with decorative
flowers and a small dish of condiments in the center. It looked like a work of art.
When he sat down at the table, Sage would even dip the shrimp in the condiment and place them in his
bowl. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at him and said, âIan, these shrimp are very fresh. You should
have some more!â
However, he was afraid that she would send them to his office every day if she thought he liked them,
so he would pick the shrimp out of his plate, throw them into the bone dish, and
coldly say, âI donât like shrimp.
Ian felt a little stuffy when he thought about the past. He reached out and took the plate of shrimp in
front of Sage.
âWhat do you think youâre doing?â Sage looked at him, puzzled.
Ian responded calmly, âI thought you didnât like to peel them?â
Sage had a feeling that lan remembered how she used to peel them for him when he heard Tianaâs
words. Hence, she hastily pushed another plate of prawns in front of him and said, Thatâs so
considerate of you, Mr. Holcomb. Why donât you peel these as well? Iâd love to eat them.â
She figured she wouldnât have the chance to boss fan around in the future, so she might as well make
the most of this opportunity and have him serve her.
He pursed his lips and decided to peel all of them. After peeling the first one, he was about to place it
on the plate when Calvin said, âMrs. Holcomb has been wanting to eat them for a while now, Ian. Hurry
up and feed her!â
Just as Sage was about to speak up, he continued, âMrs. Holcomb, Iâm sure your hands are dirty from
holding the drumstick. Why donât you just sit back and let Ian serve you?â
He then winked at Ian. The latter calmly took the shrimp and brought it to Sageâs mouth. Tiana and
Calvin were both staring at her at that moment.
Sage had a feeling that they wouldnât be able to suppress their smiles if she continued to act coy. So,
she opened her mouth and took a bite of the shrimp.
âIs it sweet?â Tiana asked.
Sage gave her a light kick under the table. âWhy donât you have one and find out?â
âOh, no. I couldnât possibly eat anymore. Iâm so full just from looking at you guys,â Tiana teased.
âKeep going, Ian. Iâm thoroughly enjoying the show,â Calvin chimed in. Tiana burst out laughing.
Ivy happened to see lan feeding Sage when she walked over to the buffet area. It was obvious that he
was indulging her, even though he was doing it begrudgingly.
Suppressing the emotions bubbling in her heart, she approached the group, who were having a good
time and said, âHi, Ian, Mrs. Holcomb, and Mr. Luther. Would you mind if I joined you?
