Chapter 80
A Farewell After Being Reborn
Ian pursed his lips, not questioning Sageâs attitude. He said calmly, âYou requested this before. Whatâs
wrong with me agreeing to it now?â
Sage couldnât help but scoff. âYou said so yourself. I requested this before, which means it was in the
past. You didnât agree to it before. And now I donât need it anymore. The only thing you need to do now
is to sign the divorce agreement!â
âIf you really didnât want to pair my clothes anymore, why did you let Aunt Susan bring my things into
the bedroom, Sage? You even told her I donât come home often for dinner.â
Sage immediately felt awkward after hearing Ianâs words.
Susan actually told lan about that!
âI didnât ask her to come over. What she did has nothing to do with meâ¦â Sage tried to explain.
Before she could finish talking, Susan called out from downstairs, âSage, Ian, hurry up and come
downstairs. Dinner will be ready soon!â
Sage composed herself and said to lan, âWe can talk about this later. No matter what Aunt Susan
requests of you later, donât agree to it.â
Ian shot Sage a neutral look but said nothing.
Sage soon lost the mood to change her clothes. She then went downstairs.
Wanda was helping Susan bring the food out from the kitchen. Not only was there herbal stew, but
there were also highâquality ingredients like lobster and caviar. It sure lead like Susan had given it her
all for this dinner.
It was also obvious that Susan was trying to appeal to them with this meal.
âWhat are you standing there for? Whereâs Ian? Have him come join us for dinner!â Susan gestured at
Sage.
Sage said right away, âYou shouldnât come here to cook anymore, Aunt Susan. Wanda will
cook whatever we want to eat.â
Susan understood Sageâs meaning. She chastised, âIâm only doing this for your own good, Sage. I want
you to grow closer to Ian.
âWhatâs so wrong with a husband and wife having a happy relationship? Why does it sound
like youâre blaming me for being nosy?â
Sage said, âYou still canât just interfere in our personal affairs like this.â
It made Ian think it was Sageâs idea!
Susan didnât understand at first. âWhat personal affairs did I interfere in? Oh, do you mean by me
putting Ianâs items back into the master bedroom?â
Susan continued, âYour housekeeper was cleaning things up when I arrived, so I went to check it out. I
had her put the items outside the bedroom back inside. Whatâs so wrong with that? You shouldnât have
gotten angry with Ian in the first place!â
Sage gazed at Susan. âAunt Susan, itâs best you worry about the fact that Layla wonât be able to
graduate in your spare time. I donât need you to worry about us here.â
âYou!â Susan choked on her words. She happened to see Ian come downstairs, so she ignored Sage
and went up to greet him. âHurry and come sit here, Ian. Dinner will be ready soon!â
Sage was speechless.
Susan animatedly chatted with Ian during dinner. âIan, you must be really busy with work, huh?â
Ian ate some stew and said in a tone that was neither distant nor friendly, âA little.â
Susan sighed. âYour uncle is busy every day, too. But unlike you, heâs mindlessly busying himself for
the company. Not many people want to see him, so heâs been really concerned.â
âIf Owen is so tired, then he should hire a professional management team.â Sage couldnât you mustâve
h bout.â help but speak up. âI suggested this to Grandpa last time, which
ent tean
âWhat professional management team?â Susan instantly got upset. âDonât you trust in your uncleâs
capabilities? Why waste so much money to hire outsiders?
âIf word gets out, people will talk about your uncle behind his back and think heâs incapable!
