The office was eerily silent.

Miles stood frozen with his hand raised mid–air. His mouth clamped shut in shock.

In the corner, Eric and Kate had swiftly pulled apart the moment Miles barged in.

Eric’s aura was icy, his face darkening instantly. There was a hint of murderous intent in his eyes as his cold gaze locked on Miles.

Though his demeanour was frigid, his suit was noticeably wrinkled, and his lips were slightly red. Meanwhile, his collar buttons were undone.

Kate’s face was flushed. Her breathing was uneven, her lips swollen, and her eyes filled with panic as she quickly turned her back, her heart pounding.

Who could have predicted that Miles would suddenly burst into the office?

Kate’s office had a strict rule where everyone must knock and announce themselves before entering. But Miles, in his excitement, forgot all protocol and barged right in.

He certainly hadn’t expected to find Eric there, let alone catch them in such a moment.

Eric’s cold laugh interrupted, making his eyes even colder. He said, “Even if I weren’t here, you think. it’s acceptable to barge into Kate’s office?”

His voice was icy and laced with clear displeasure.

Miles immediately straightened up. He bowed his head and frantically apologised, “I’m sorry, fault! I won’t burst in unannounced again! I was just really excited about a brilliant idea and wanted to share it with my muse. If I had known you were here. I wouldn’t have dared to come in, no matter what”
