Chapter 222
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 222
It was better to go early than late and resolve things.
Upon hearing that, Jonathanâs face lit up with joy, and he finally let go of the burden he was carrying.
âIâll wait for you at the company. Let me know when you arrive.â
âOkay,â Cynthia replied.
After hanging up the phone, she informed Moe about the matter. Moe distributed the documents she
had just signed and drove her there.
By the time they arrived, it was already half past ten.
Upon hearing that Cynthia had arrived, Jonathan immediately greeted her and took her to his office.
Unfortunately, Cynthia had no intention of staying here for long. After obtaining the position of
investment advisor and signing the contract, she planned to leave.
âCyn!â Jonathan called her.
Cynthia stopped in her tracks.
âThereâs one more thing.â Jonathan took an invitation letter from his office drawer and walked over to
her. âOld Man Neal sent us an invitation to his 80th birthday party. What do you think? Should we go?â
From a business partnership standpoint, they should attend. Not going could raise suspicions and
create unnecessary trouble. However, Cynthiaâs relationship with the Neal family was specialâ¦
If she did not want to go, he would not go either.
âLetâs go,â Cynthia replied simply.
âAre you sure?â Jonathan was somewhat worried about her and asked indirectly, âYou and Joshua are
already divorced, right? Will he make things difficult for you if you go?â
âIâm going as a representative of the Yates Group, not as Cynthia, Cynthia explained. Even though she
did not like Jonathan, she also did not want to worry him. âBesides, he canât make things difficult for
me.â
âAlright then, Iâll go with you.â Jonathan felt relieved.
Cynthia pursed her lips but did not say anything.
Jonathan wanted her to stay and have a meal together later, but Cynthia declined. Instead, she left
Jonathanâs office with the contract in hand, thinking about a project she needed to discuss with the
Neal Group later.
Then, Cynthia decided to go downstairs and find Kendrick, her cousin and the current president of the
Yates Group.
As she passed the planning department, she noticed they were arguing.
âItâs been a week, and you still havenât come up with a simple plan. If you canât handle it, then just
leave!â
âYouâre making things difficult for me. I havenât learned this before. How am I supposed to know how to
do it?â
âIf you donât know, why donât you ask?â
âI simply donât know. Why donât you have someone else do it if youâre so impatient?â
âDo you believe that I can fire you right now?â
77
âFire me?â The girl responded with a hint of disdain as if she had heard a hilarious joke. âDo you have
that authority? Do you know who is behind me?â
Initially, Cynthia did not intend to intervene. However, she could not turn a blind eye upon hearing that
someone in the company was brazenly using connections.
The Yates Group was not only Jonathanâs but also her motherâs endeavor. Hence, she could not ignore
it now that she had witnessed it, as she would not tolerate such a parasite in the company.
âIâm actually curious to know whoâs behind you,â Cynthia said, holding the contract in her hand, dressed
in professional office attire that enhanced her already strong presence due to her height and high
heels.
As soon as she appeared, the entire planning department paused, subconsciously assuming she was a
new executive or a business partner.
âWho is she? Sheâs so beautiful
âSheâs so classy! I really want to be friends with her!â
âWhat should we do? Suddenly, our CEO seems inferior. This young lady has such a great aura and
appearance.â
âWho are you? The arrogant girl furrowed her brows and scrutinized Cynthia, asking. âWhatâs your
connection to our department?â
She wanted to continue her arrogance, but her mother had reminded her not to be too ostentatious in
the company and not to leave a bad impr
