Chapter 424
Mr. Neal, Mrs. Neal’s Gone With The Money
Chapter 424
âHmm
The conversation between them was exceptionally brief. Joshua, today, was
as no mood for much talk, and the usual bater he enjoyed with Yoel was missing. Yoel felt a touch of
sympathy for him. Even theagh Joshua was indeed reaping what he had sown, Yoel could not help but
feel sorry for him.
âShould we inform Ms. Yates about this? It seems that she is investigating this as well,â Yoel queried.
âFor now, let us keep it quirt. Once I have resolved everything, you can tell her. Consider it a form of
restitution on my part,
Joshua replied, a plan forming in his mind.
He knew that, given Cynthiaâs abilities, she could easily get to the bottom of the matter. However, he
wanted to handle this personally. After all, Sumanthaâs actions had repeatedly exacerbated his conflict
with Cynthia until they ended up strangers.
âUnderstood,â Yoel acknowledged.
That very night, Joshua invited Viordan, who was filming in Nexuria, for a drink. Within the confines of a
private room in a bar, Joshua was imbibing one drink after another. One bottle was nearly empty.
Sering Joshua reach for a second bottle, Yiordan stayed his hand, his voice as soothing as ever.
âDrinking wonât selve anything. What happened?â
Joshua remained silent, his dark eyes unreadable. Regardless, he opened the second battle and
poured himself another drink.
Seeing him like this. Yordan ceased his attempts to dissuade him. Cradling his glass, he said gently,
âYouâve never failed in your career, and even if you did, your character wouldnât allow you to take it to
heart. Your familyâs health is robust, so itâs not about a family crisis.â
Joshua finished his drink and did not reach for another.
âSo, is this about Cynthia or Jayleen?â Yordan guessed
Over the past month, he had been immersed in his filming work. Not overly concerned about their
romantic entanglements, he had no idea whom Jushua had ultimately chosen
âWhat do you think of Cynthia?â Joshua asked.
âI donât know her well, but my impression of her is rather favorable,â Yordan replied, generally not one
to comment much. on those he did not know.
Joshua chuckled bitterly. A stranger seemed to understand her better than he did.
âWeâre divorced,â Joshua finally admitted after a lang pause, his voice rough with emotion.
âWell, since youâre divorced, why not enjoy life with Jayleen? Everyone pays for their choices; thereâs
no point dwelling on other things.âYiordan suggested, respecting Joshuaâs decisions.
Joshua was holding his glass. âI am not married to Jayleen.â
Yiordan looked puzzled, not quite understanding what Joshua was getting at.
âIt was all a sham when she returned to me,â Joshua revealed, his voice gravelly and slow. His mind,
however, was awash with memories. âHad I not clung to the idea of a lifelong commitment and insteal
simply enjoyed life with Cynthia, I wonder if things would have been different.â
In that alternate reality, he imagined a warm family life with Cynthia. She could do whatever she
pleases at home while he earned a living. They would not quarrel; their home would be peaceful and
filled with love.
âIf you were really committed to âtill death do us part, you should never have begun with Cynthia,â
Yiordan advised
Joshua could not find words to describe his feelings; all he knew was that they were terrible..
âDo you regret divorcing Cynthia?â Yurdan asked.
3/2
âIâve done her many injustices. Only today did 1 realize the whole truth. I was wrong from the very
start,â Joshua confessed, his gaze dropping, his whole being exuding dejection
