Chapter 668
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
She returned to her room after signing the shipping document and opened the bag.
Inside was a set of skincare products from a high-end brand. They were purchased by the gram,
making them unaffordable to the general public.
Millie was taken aback by how lavish it was.
She reached for the bottle of facial lotion, opened it, and applied some to her face. It was soothing to
her skin and made her feel nice.
Millie hesitated for a bit but eventually reached for her phone and texted Marcus.
âThank you.â
She thought for a while, then sent another message.
She felt a little giddy after tapping the send button. As a spark of creativity swirled in her, she grabbed
her sketchbook and pen and began sketching.
Meanwhile, a worried Derek stood beside Marcus, who was sitting at his desk in his office. His fists
were clenched in anger. He wanted to kill the person responsible for the attempted assassination of his
boss right then.
He snarled, âThat person sure has a lot of guts and cunning. How dare he try to poison you?â
No one, not even those stationed at Ravenâs home base on Raven Island, dared touch bloody herb.
Derek continued to frown. There were a lot of poisonous plants in the world, but only a select handful
matched the lethality of the bloody herb.
Marcus brought a hand to his head and started massaging his temple. His brow furrowed, and his eyes
narrowed. He wondered who dispatched those people to kill him. He was certain that his grandfather
wouldnât do something like that.
âMr. Thomas, letâs go to the island and get your wound treated there.â Marcus remained silent.
âIâm going to kill whoever did this,â Derek muttered darkly.
Suddenly, Marcusâ phone rang. He had received a message from Millie.
âThank you.â
Awhile later, a second message arrived.
âTâve received the skincare products.â
Derek froze when he saw Marcus smiling at his phone. He recovered from the shock quickly, though,
and turned to leave the office.
In her room, Fiona was sobbing quietly as she cradled her arms.
She cried, âIâm so scared. My face hurts.â
