Chapter 669
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
Leon quickly said, âIâll get some ice for you.â He then retrieved some ice cubes from the fridge and
wrapped them in a piece of cloth.
Fiona raised the ice pack on her cheek before stating, âYour mother doesnât seem to like me very
much. I should go.â
Leon reassured, âDonât be scared. Iâm here with you.â
He had been looking for her all his life. There was no way he would let her go now.
Later that day, Millie made another trip to the hospital. When she returned home, the lights in the
bedroom were off. It seemed that Marcus had not come back yet.
She checked the time and noted that he should be home soon.
With that in mind, she decided to wait for him outside. She paced back and forth under the streetlight to
kill time, casting a long shadow behind her as she went.
She halted when she heard someone cough.
Leon, who was standing not too far away, was examining her from head to toe.
He asked, âWhat are you doing outside?â
He just came out of Fionaâs room. Millie cleared her throat.
She answered, âIâm waiting for someone.â
Leon raised a brow. âYouâre waiting for Marcus?â
Millie grudgingly nodded, not really wanting to admit it.
Something gleamed in Leonâs eyes, causing Millie to avert her gaze.
It was clear that he and Fiona were getting along well. He had completely disregarded Millieâs warning.
It was not that Leon did not take her words seriously. It was just that he had more faith in Fionaâs
words.
When in love, most people act like complete idiots. Leon was no fool, but that must have changed
when he found the person he loved.
Millie continued to have doubts about Fionaâs unexpected appearance in Leonâs life, though.
After a while of silence, she inquired, âIs Fionaâs face the only reason you recognized her?â
Leon pondered the question for a moment. He did, in fact, recognize Fiona by her face.
He was about to respond when he suddenly heard Fionaâs voice. âWhat are you doing here? Thereâs
no milk in the fridge. Iâm planning to get some.â
