Chapter 670
Substitute Marriage: Falling For My Ugly Wife
Leon saw Fionaâs jealous gaze at Millie and said in a gentle voice, âI ran into an acquaintance, and we
talked for a bit. Come on. Letâs buy milk together.â
âOkay.â
Fiona quickly grabbed Leonâs arm, and together, they walked away from Millie. They had taken a few
steps forward when Fiona turned around to smirk at Millie.
Millie looked away from her, wondering why Marcus was not home yet. She should go back to her
room. She might run into Fiona again, and she did not want that.
A musty scent permeated the room located in the suburbs. Inside, a man stood with his back to the
window. He lit the lighter in his hand, and the flames illuminated his sneering countenance.
âWhen you tried to kill Marcus with an axe that night, how certain were you that you had made contact
with his skin?â
The person behind him said confidently, âIâm very sure. There was blood on the blade of the axe. I
soaked the blade with the extract of the bloody herb. He was probably still under the impression that
what he got was just a cut.â
Smirking, the man by the window said, âWell done.â
Leon and Fiona were shopping for milk together at the supermarket.
However, Fiona was too preoccupied with the possibility that Millie might steal her position someday to
pay attention to the milk.
âWhat were you talking about with Millie earlier?â Fiona asked tentatively.
âNothing. We only exchanged pleasantries.â
Leon glanced at her and saw the dissatisfied expression on her face.
âLetâs buy some mango milk,â Fiona said, lowering her head.
After they paid for their purchases, Fiona stated, âIâm actually a very selfish person, and Iâd feel more at
ease if you maintained some sort of professional distance from other women.â
Leon froze, then quickly reassured, âDonât worry. Youâre the only one in my heart.â
When he first met Aisha, that was exactly what he thought.
It had become the driving force behind his determination in the dark days that followed.
Fiona smiled. âThank you. Will you stay the night?â
That afternoon, Leon took her to a shopping mall. He maintained a high level of patience throughout as
he splurged on her. It did not take long for Fiona to cheer up.
However, Leon still chose to leave that evening. Even after she hinted that she did not want to be alone
and would appreciate it if he stayed the night, he still insisted on leaving.
She knew she was going against Loisâ wishes, but an excellent man like Leon was something that most
women aspired to have. She hoped he would never get tired of her.
