Chapter 1455
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1455
âIt's nothing.â John wiped away the gloom in his eyes
and instructed, âYou can head back by yourself after things wrap up here.â
âWhat about you, arenât you going home?â
â| have some other things to deal with, Iâll be home later.
âAll right.â
The event was concluded shortly after with no hiccups.
After Mr. Carrel addressed the gathering and gave a brief summary, he formally announced the end of the event.
Several people went up to him to bid farewell, and they also went up to John.
Sherry and Carl were similarly treated with the same
amount of respect as groups of people went up to them to say goodbye.
After the round of pleasantries, groups of people flocked
out of the venue one after another.
Since the Sagers were on good terms with Mr. Carrel, Sherry and Carl made sure to go up to Mr. Carrel themselves to say
goodbye before leaving.
As it turned out, it was exceptionally ill timing since
when they approached Mr. Carrel, they noticed John and Julie walking up to him as well.
Sherry frowned and pretended to not notice them by quickly turning away.
John stared at her unabashedly with a sharp squint in his eyes.
Carl promptly stood in front of Sherry to cut off Johnâs angle.
John seemed to have taken offense to this.
Carl smiled politely and addressed Mr. Carrel, âOld man Carrel, I'll be leaving with Miss Sherry. We'll see you again in another
day or two, alright?â
Mr. Carrel chuckled pleasantly. âAlright, be careful on the way back.â
Carl nodded, then he turned to John and Julie. âMaster Stockton, we'll be leaving first. Iâll see you again when | get the chance
to.â
John smiled. âAlright, | look forward to seeing you and President Sherry.â
âHeh, I'll see you.â Carl took Sherryâs hand and turned to leave.
John seemed bothered by this gesture.
Mr. Carrel stepped forward and said, âMaster Stockton, Iâm afraid | wonât be sending you off. Let's meet again one of these
days.â
John blinked sporadically as if he had just snapped back to his senses. He was very polite and humble with Mr. Carrel. âAlright,
Mr. Wang, we'll be taking our leave
now.
âAlright, see you.â
John gazed at Sherry and Carl departing, then he proceeded to head toward the exit as well.
Julie hurriedly paced after him.
After the red sports car swerved off the manorâs gates, it drove in the opposite direction of where it originally
came from.
It was only around nine p.m. which meant there was a considerable amount of traffic. By the time they reached the city district, it
was still rather packed with cars.
It took a while before they finally passed a traffic light.
Sherry was taking in the view of the city when she suddenly noticed the hotel she had stayed in previously.
Something suddenly came to her as she hurriedly
beckoned, âCarl, please stop the car at the hotelâs entrance over there.â
Carl seemed perplexed by this sudden decision. âWhat are you up to?â
Sherry told him, âI need to go get my stuff from the hotel and check out from my room.â
She never went back to the hotel after her encounter with John.
Now the situation had changed, she doubted that John would continue pestering her.
She remembered she still had several important documents inside her suitcase, she had to retrieve them now.
âGot it.â Carl was very cooperative and quickly drove to the hotel entrance.
Sherry hurriedly opened the door and stepped out of the car. She noticed Carl unbuckling his seat belt and preparing to get out
of the car with her and quickly stopped him. âItâs just some clothes and a suitcase, it won't take long at all. Just wait for me in the
car, you donât have to come up with me.â
She would hate to be an inconvenience, especially considering this was something she could handle well enough on her own.
Carl threw her a side-eye glance and joked, âBetter hurry up, this young lord doesnât like to be kept waiting.
Sherry rolled her eyes at him, then she trotted into the hotel.
