Chapter 1459
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1459
She was vulgar and unfashionable, just like her mother.
She took special care to not let her disgust show on her face and wore a gentle, polite smile.
She greeted them in a friendly voice, âMom, Queenie, Little Caprice, Iâm home.â
Caprice was too focused on her toy excavator and ignored her.
Queenie greeted her rather dully, âHey, youâre home.â
Then she immediately turned her attention back to Caprice.
Madam Stockton looked behind Julie and asked, âItâs just you, whereâs John?â
Julie walked up to her and informed her, âHe said that he has some other things to deal with, he probably wonât be home so
soon.â
Madam Stockton nodded and uttered a short âoh*, then she had nothing further to add.
She thought that it would be ideal that John took his
time. That way, she would have more time to play with Caprice.
She went back to playing with Caprice.
âThereâs one more thing.â Julie glanced at Caprice and whispered, âI saw Miss Fowler.â
Madam Stocktonâs expression changed, she frowned and asked crossly, âSherry?â
âYeah.â
Madam Stockton glanced at Caprice who was having the time of her life, then she whispered cautiously, âLetâs talk in the living
room.â
She turned to Queenie. âQueenie, look after Caprice.â
They went to the living room.
Several minutes later.
In the living room, Madam Stockton widened her disbelief and exclaimed in utter shock, âSheâs the president of Sager
Corporation?!â
eyes in
Julie answered, âYes, | couldnât believe it at first, but it turns out that it really is her. It looks like Young Master Sager is on her side
too.
Madam Stockton frowned. âSo, she did manage to borrow the invitation card from Young Master Sager that time at the party.â
Considering her status in the Sagers Corporation and her relationship with Young Master Sager himself, there was no reason to
expect that she could not get her hands on the invitation card.
âYeah, we were wrong to suspect her.â
Madam Stocktonâs face was sullen, she stayed silent for a while.
â| didnât expect that after more than two years of radio silence, sheâd pop out of nowhere and emerge as the President Sherry
that brought the Sagers Corporation back to the forefront of the business world,â Julie said while intently observing Madam
Stocktonâs face for any signs of expression.
Madam Stockton seemed very discontent with the news, but she gave credit where it was due. âYou have to give it to her, sheâs
pretty good at that.â
Julie suddenly added, âI donât think her relationship with Young Master Sager is a normal one. Young Master Sager talks to her a
little too affectionately for a business
partner. | see the two of them getting very touchy-feely as well.â
âHmph.â Madam Stockton mocked. âSeducing men is the one thing sheâs good at.â
Julieâs eyes glowed at this notion, but she did not want to make it too obvious. âDonât say that, maybe they are just good
friends.â
â| know exactly what sheâs like, thereâs no point in trying to justify her actions,â Madam Stockton spoke with disdain, âThere must
be an ongoing affair between the two of them.â
Julie zipped her lips and seemed like she was at a loss for what to say.
Madam Stockton sneered. âThatâs fine, now that she has Carl Sager, she probably wonât keep bothering John.â
âBut, about tonight...â She hesitated to continue.
Madam Stockton looked at her with alarm. âWhat
happened tonight? Did she try to dig her claws into John again?â
With her chin lowered, Julie spoke in a troubled voice, Maybe | misread the situation, but | saw her going into a quiet corner with
John. They stayed there for quite a while before coming out again.â
Madam Stockton seemed vexed by this. âThis woman will never change! How dare she try to string along two men at a time?!â
Julie hurriedly said, âNo, perhaps it was all a misunderstanding on my part. After all, sheâs Capriceâs mother, maybe they were
just trying to find some quiet place to talk about whatâs going on with Caprice. Besides, sheâs no longer what she was in the past.
You could argue that sheâs a woman worthy of calling herself Johnâs partner now.â
Madam Stockton scoffed disdainfully. âEven if that were the case, Iâd never let someone of her likes step through the door of my
household!â
It seemed like her dislike for Sherry had not changed at all.
Julie silently smirked at this remark.
