Chapter 1505
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1505
Mathewâs eyes flickered nervously while Janineâs face.
turned pale. They did not expect such sharp insights from Sherry.
Matthew sat down on the couch and said with furrowed brows, âSherry, | have to admit that we did you wrong before, but we
Fowlers arenât on the same level as the Stocktons. You saw what happened to your sister. | donât want you to end up like her.â
âSheâs not my sister. Sheâs a murderer who tried to kill me. Sheâs in jail because of attempted murder. Itâs not because of the
Stocktons,â Sherry reminded them sternly.
Although Shannon was deeply carried away by the fame and reputation of being Mrs. Stockton, the direct reason that put her
behind bars was her attempt on Sherryâs life. Had she not tried to kill Sherry, she would not have ended up in jail.
Julie and Madam Stockton grew serious when they heard Sherry.
Julie said, âMother, | didnât expect Ms. Fowler to defend us.â
Madam Stockton shared the same thought as well, but after listening to Julieâs words, she put on a frosty expression and
said, âSheâs not defending us. Sheâs just
trying to argue with her father.â
Julie pursed her lips.
Outside the living room, the man leaned on the wall as he continued to eavesdrop.
Then, Janine said to Matthew, âCut the nonsense. She's just a heartless girl! She doesnât know what's good for her!â
Good for her?
Sherry rolled her eyes at Janine.
âWhy did you do that for?â Janine noticed her reaction.
âNothing much. Iâm just disgusted,â Sherry said. She scoffed and then asked, âDonât you think itâs disgusting?â
Janineâs face went pale.
Matthewâs expression shifted as well.
âHa...â A chuckle sounded from outside the door.
Sherryâs expression changed as she turned to the entrance, and Matthew and Janine did the same.
Aman with a slender figure then walked in. A long trench coat hung over his slender body, and a gray scarf wrapped around his
neck warmly. He softly pushed his golden- framed glasses up as he walked in.
â| hope | am not interrupting anything,â he said with a smile.
Matthew and Janine bolted up and looked at John.
Matthew stuttered, âNâno. Not at all. Itâs just that we havenât seen Sherry for a long time, so we thought weâd visit.â
âYeah. We are here just to visit,â Janine echoed.
John then looked at Sherry. âThey are here to visit?â
Sherry pursed her lips. âDidnât you hear everything from outside? Why ask the obvious?â
Matthew and Janineâs expressions went pale.
Matthew nervously said, âMaster Stockton, itâs not what you think.â
John smiled and said, âMr. and Mrs. Fowler, why donât you two go back first?â
Matthew and Janine exchanged a quick glance nervously.
John then walked to Sherry and said to them, âDonât worry. You can continue to develop in Glenchester. Nothing will change.â
The meaning of his words was obviousâhe would stop Madam Stockton from interfering.
Matthewâs eyes gleamed with delight. âThank you, Master Stockton.â
âYou donât have to thank me. You should thank Sherry,â John looked at Sherry deeply. âI agreed to invest in your
company back then because of her, and | am letting this off the hook because of her as well.â
