Chapter 1508
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1508
Noticing the awkwardness in the air, Queenie asked, â Mom, Brother, what's wrong? Did you guys argue?â
John reached out to her. âI'll carry Caprice.â
His other hand continued to hold onto Sherryâs hand.
Queenie did not want to leave her adorable niece, but she let go anyway.
John then glanced at Aunt Wanda. âAunt Wanda, after they are done packing, send the luggage to my car.â
Aunt Wanda nodded. âOkay.â
John turned around and left with Caprice and Sherry. Madam Stockton said heavily, âItâs my fault! Okay?!â
John stopped.
Madam Stockton noticed the pause and immediately rushed to the front to explain, âDonât leave. Sherry doesnât need to leave
anymore. | wonât chase her away again. Is that okay?â
Johnâs gaze softened. He looked at Sherry. âDo you want to stay or leave?â
Madam Stockton looked at Sherry as well.
Sherry pursed her lips as she found herself at a crossroads.
Of course, she wanted to leave the nonsense behind and live with Caprice in a quiet place, but when she saw the anticipation in
Madam Stocktonâs eyes and Queenieâs eagerness, she knew that the two of them did not want John or Caprice to leave.
Besides, she did not plan on staying for long either, and if John had a fallout with his mother because of her, things would end
badly.
Sherry said, âI'll stay.â
Johnâs gaze shifted.
Madam Stockton sighed a breath of relief. She looked at Sherry differently after the answer as if she was glad that Sherry made
the better choice.
âYay!â Queenie squealed happily. Her sharp squeal woke Caprice.
The girl opened her eyes with furrowed brows.
John immediately glanced at his sister.
Queenie nervously covered her mouth with her hands.
Madam Stockton went up to the girl and stared at her adorable face with utmost infatuation. She wanted to
hold her granddaughter, but John denied her.
âMother, you're tired already. Why donât you go back and rest?â He sounded cold. He was obviously still holding a grudge against
his mother for trying to chase Sherry out
of the house.
Madam Stockton knew his sonâs temper well enough. She nodded and said, âI'll go now. You and Caprice should rest early too.â
John curved his lips. âWe know.â
Madam Stockton gazed into Capriceâs eyes deeply before she left.
After Madam Stockton left, Julie came over. âJohn, | didnât handle the matter well. | should have talked Mother out of it.â
John answered coldly, âJust go back.â
Julie puckered her lips as she turned around with a sour look.
He then headed into the house with Caprice and Sherry.
Queenie wanted to follow them inside, but John stopped her as well.
âYou. Go back.â
Queenie pouted. She looked at Sherry pitifully.
Sherry then said, âItâs dinner time soon. Queenie will be alone even if she goes back. Why donât we have her over for dinner?â
John looked at her.
Sherry smiled back.
John curved his lips and said, âFine.â
Queenie widened her lips into a grin. She said, âBrother, can I play with Caprice for a little longer?â
John then put Caprice in her arms, and she brought Caprice back to the room.
Sherry still could not wrap her head around what just happened. She did not expect the man to be so easygoing this time. She
thought he would deny Queenieâs request.
In addition to his leniency, he even defended her against Matthew and Janine and dealt with Madam Stockton once and for all.
Everything the man did today was out of the blue.
