Chapter 1509
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1509
She thought he hated her.
If so, why would he treat her like this?
Was it because she became his wife?
Then, she realized he was still holding her hand. She tugged it and said in a small voice, âNo one is here anymore. You can let
go of my hand now.â
John looked down at her hand. He loosened his grip but did not fully release her. He rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb.
The ticklish feeling caused Sherry to pull her hand back immediately.
John curved his lips. âSoft hands.â
Sherry playfully glared at him. âSure, my hands are soft compared to yours.*
The moment her words subsided, she felt a warm sensation across her face as he stroked her face.
Sherry widened her eyes at him.
The man curved his lips wider into an enchanting smile and said, âIndeed, theyâre quite soft.â
Sherry was left speechless. She choked on her
embarrassment. Out of instinct, she raised her hand and
moved towards his face.
To her surprise, he did not move or dodge.
Her hand touched his face, and it left her stunned.
He did not dodge? He did not try to catch her hand?
However, since she already had her hand on his face, it was even more embarrassing to just take it back. Her expression
changed as she softly pinched the manâs cheek.
She quickly retracted her hand and said with a raised brow, âRough.â
John narrowed his eyes dangerously.
Sherryâs gaze shifted. âI'll go have a look at Caprice.â
With those words, she strode inside as if she was escaping
a monster.
John watched her as he softly touched his cheek, where she pinched him, and grinned.
Madam Stockton continued to sulk in her room after she
returned home.
It was Julie who talked to her and persuaded her to have dinner.
However, she only took a few spoons before losing her
appetite completely.
Worried, Julie looked at her and said, âMother, you must at least fill your stomach. Why donât you eat a little more?â
â| lost my appetite. | donât want to eat.â
Madam Stockton wiped her mouth with the towel. She looked rather tired under the lights, seemingly troubled by her own
thoughts.
Julie continued, âMother, itâs over. John is not moving out, so why not just let it go?â
Madam Stockton sighed. She looked at Julie and said, Julie, was | wrong? Calling her parents to persuade her to leave John...â
Julie immediately said, âMother, you are doing this for John. We just did not expect John to treat Ms. Fowler this well.â
âHmph! He must have fallen under her spell,â Madam Stockton grumbled.
Julie sighed. âMs. Fowler is beautiful and is now the influential figure at the Sagers. Sheâs capable, and it's only natural that John
would fall for her.â
Madam Stockton scoffed. âCapable? Sheâs a vixen! God knows how she got her current position at the Sagers.â
âMother, please donât say that. Maybe sheâs really
(
capable.â
âIf sheâs capable, why is she at our house? Sheâs trying to get her claws into John!â
Julie ran out of words to continue, so she pursed her lips silently.
In the next moment, a clear voice came from outside the door.
âMom, Sherry isnât who you think she is. She married Brother because of Caprice.â
It was Queenie who had spoken.
Madam Stocktonâs expression changed and she glared at her daughter. âHow do you know she did it for Caprice? Did she tell
you that?â
â| can tell even if she doesnât speak a word. If she wants to get close to Brother, she wouldn't have tried to escape three years
ago,â Queenie said as she protruded her lips.
The incident from three years ago left Madam Stockton speechless.
Julie then said to Queenie, âQueenie, Mother is not in the mood right now. Donât talk to her about that.â
âJulie, | Know sheâs not in the mood, but it was her who started it first. Sheâs wrong.â
Madam Stockton glared at the girl. âYou little rascal, what did you say?!â
