Chapter 1546

The image of John fresh out of the shower surfaced in Sherry’s mind again against her will. She felt her cheeks glowing hot and

tried to turn away from John so he would not notice. She asked him a question to distract him, “Do you have anything lined up

later?”

John answered, “There’s a meeting later. | also need to join this event that’s taking place later this evening.”

Sherry was thrilled to hear this and quickly seized the chance. “Then can | take Caprice home with me first?”

John gave her a sideways look. “We'll wait until Caprice wakes up.”

“Fair enough,” Sherry said.

John walked out.

Caprice happened to wake up just as soon as he left.

She snapped her eyes open and cried out the moment she recognized who was next to her, “Mommy!”

Sherry took Caprice into his arms and repeatedly planted kisses on her chubby cheeks. She threw on a coat for Caprice and

took her out of the room.

John was sitting at his desk going through stacks of documents.

When he heard them approaching, he darted his eyes for a quick look.

Caprice was still slightly drowsy since she had just woken up and was slouched over Sherry’s shoulder.

Sherry smiled warmly at him. “Take your time, I'll take Caprice home first.”

John let them go and merely mumbled, “Okay.”

Sherry hurriedly shuffled out.

As soon as she stepped out of the elevator with Caprice in her arms, all of the employees in the building fixed a surprised look in

her direction.

Sherry caught on to what was happening.

She was so focused on trying to get Caprice out of there as soon as possible that she forgot the fact that everyone in the building

recognized Caprice.

Sure enough, all of the employees dropped their tasks and stared at her with equal shock and suspicion.

They were curious how a mere visitor who came to see their president was allowed to simply waltz off with the president’s dear

daughter.

Everyone knew that in the past two years, Caprice had never been cared for by anyone apart from President Stockton himself,

so he simply would not allow it.

Their perplexion concerning this strange occurrence was slowly mounting. There must be something more to this!

Sherry stiffened, then she made herself move and quickly marched out of the building.

Just as she was about to reach the exit, she ran into Jason, one of John’s security forces.

It seemed like Jason had been waiting for her. When he noticed her approaching, he greeted her with a smile and informed her,

“Madam, Young Master Stockton has instructed me to wait for you here.”

The employees were still staring at her, and they were becoming very curious.

Fortunately, they were far away enough to not hear Jason addressing Sherry as madam.

Sherry thanked him, “Alright, thanks.”

She quickly shuffled out with Caprice.

John followed after her.

As soon as they vanished from the building, the employees grouped together and began speculating.

“What's going on? Why did Young Master Stockton let Sager Corporation’s President Sherry take his daughter?”

“He even let his trusty bodyguard accompany her.”

“You guys don’t think something is going on between them?”

That was when the receptionist from earlier supplied. “When President Sherry got here earlier today, Assistant Peter specifically

instructed me to give her direct access to the president's office. He said | didn’t need to notify the president and that this was the

standard procedure from here on.”

As soon as she supplied this information, everyone began to catch onto something.

“You think there’s really something between the two presidents-”

“What are you guys talking about?” They suddenly heard a familiar, authoritative voice from behind.

They turned their heads in unison and recognized Peter. Every one of them stood upright and greeted him with a polite smile.

Peter may come off as being rather by the book sometimes, but the truth was he was very popular among the employees

because of how pleasant he was to talk to.

One of the employees plucked up the courage to ask directly, “Assistant Peter, we just saw Sager Corporation’s Miss Sherry

walk out of the building with Miss Caprice. We even saw Master Stockton’s bodyguard escorting her, that’s why we were

curious.”

Peter's eyes shifted. “What are you curious about?”
