Chapter 1547
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1547
âWe've never even seen you hugging Miss Caprice before. Why did Master Stockton let President Sherry, someone from a rival
corporation, take Miss Caprice with her?â The man paused briefly before suggesting, âIs it because they are together?â
Everyone stared at Peter expectantly, waiting for an answer to confirm their suspicion.
Peter smiled and brushed it off. âThis is the presidentâs private affair, Iâm afraid | canât spare many details myself either. If you
guys are so curious, why donât you ask the man himself?â
This was more than enough to dissuade them from pressing the matter. In a roundabout way, it also confirmed their suspicion.
President Stocktonâs personal affairs that Peter could not spare many details on? Now that was curious.
There must be more to the relationship between the two presidents.
Sherry got into the car with Caprice, escorted by Jason.
Before they drove out of the district, Caprice suddenly pleaded in a voice that was impossible to refuse, âMommy, | want to eat
something nice.â
She weaponized her large, sparkly eyes against her mother. Sherry instantly melted, there was no way she could guard herself
against this!
She obliged immediately. âAlright, Mommy will bring you somewhere we can get some good food.â
She had the driver take them to a local district popular among foodies.
She still remembered what Capriceâs favorite food was from the last time they went shopping together.
The first thing she bought for Caprice was a vanilla waffle. Then they went to look for more snacks.
The child was almost three years old by now and was fine with eating the most common snacks. She only needed to take
caution with certain spicier food.
They walked around the district to hunt for food, the cart was full toward the end.
They finally left around the evening when the sky was darkening.
The car swerved through the main gates of the house and followed along the main road until it stopped at the courtyard.
Before Sherry got out of the car, she saw Madam Stockton and Queenie approaching.
She hurried out of the car along with Caprice. Madam Stockton immediately walked up to them with a longing stare at Caprice.
âCaprice, give your grandma a hug!â
Caprice remained in Sherryâs arms and seemed hesitant.
Madam Stockton was hurt by Capriceâs refusal but she continued to look at Caprice lovingly as she wanted to hug her so
desperately.
Sherry promptly handed Caprice over to her.
Madam Stockton was surprised by this gesture and quickly took Caprice into her
arms.
She promptly headed back to her living room with Caprice.
Sherry immediately grimaced upon seeing this, the old lady was getting ahead of herself again...
Queenie stepped forward, took Sherryâs hand, and asked, âSherry, whereâs my brother? Why is it just you and Caprice?â
Sherry stated, âHe said he has an event to attend.â
â| see.â The two of them followed after Madam Stockton.
Sherry suddenly stopped and said, âIâm not joining you girls, go on without me. Keep an eye on Caprice for me.â
Queenie tugged at her arms. âCaprice is your daughter, not mine. Come on, come with me!â
âI'm not going, you can go.â She knew that things were still rather tense between herself and Madam Stockton, so it was best to
keep their interaction to a minimum.
Queenie still refused to let go as she insisted. âSherry, | donât think my mom hates you as much as she did back then. Why donât
you just go over and have a quick casual chat with her? In time, she'll get to know you better and change her opinion of you.â
Sherry smiled. âYour mom has been through more than you and | combined. Iâm sure sheâs already decided on how she feels
about me.â
Queenie frowned. âWhat do you mean?â
âYour motherâs impression of me isnât going to change with just some quick chat. Besides, Iâm pretty sure Iâm the last person she
wants to see now.â
With that, she pulled her hand away and said, âGo on, keep an eye on Caprice for me.â
Queenie made a look and muttered, âOkay.â
Sherry returned to the courtyard by herself.
Queenie went to Madam Stocktonâs section of the house.
Madam Stockton had bought a larger model excavator for Caprice. Queenie entered just in time to see her carrying Caprice into
the driver's seat of the excavator.
