Chapter 1622
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1622
John narrowed his eyes. âWhat are you laughing at?â
Sherry sat on the ground and stared at the sky blankly. She curled her lips and said, âIâm laughing at myself.â
John was slightly surprised. âWhy?â
âI'm laughing at myself for being an idiot. Hahaha.â As though her words tickled her funny bone, she could not stop laughing.
Even her shoulders started to shake.
The more she laughed, the more she looked like a mad woman.
The man froze for a moment. He stared at her coldly. âSherry, what is the meaning of this?â
âHahaha...â Sherry ignored him. She continued to stare at the sky and giggled. âI used to think meeting you was the happiest
thing that had ever happened to me. Iâm such an idiot.â
Tears then rolled down the edge of her eyes.
The manâs body stiffened.
Awhile later, his gaze shifted. He scoffed and said, âSherry, what are you planning now? Do you really think I'll sympathize with
you because of what you said?â
âHahaha...â Her bloodshot eyes started to gleam. She looked at him and said in a hoarse voice, âJohn, | would rather be a cat, or
a dog, or even the grass by the roadside in my next life than meet you again.â
Her life was nothing short of bitterness. Their lives had been entangled for many years and it had been tormenting for her. She
would rather be an animal or a plant than meet him again.
She used up all her strength in saying those words, so she collapsed on the floor with her eyes closed, allowing the pain in her
mind to rip her head apart and the chilly breeze to assault her body. She really wanted to just die on the spot.
The man stared at her viciously.
His brows furrowed while his lips pursed, and his expression looked disheartened. He had either reached his boiling point or was
trying his best to hold back his emotions.
She would rather be an animal or a plan than meet him again?
The man strongly believed those were just words to provoke him. She must have some other way to escape. She must be still
thinking about him, hence her provocative words.
âStop acting like a madwoman here. Go inside while itâs still warm, or you'll freeze to death here.â
He swore to never go easy on her. However, the answer he got was the chilly breeze blowing into his face.
Sherry lay on the floor like a frozen dead body. Her eyes were closed and her limbs were not moving. She maintained her
posture for quite a while and did not even flinch in the freezing weather.
John was disheartened. He bellowed, âThrow her into the house!â
The bodyguards came over and brought Sherry into the living room.
When the bodyguards brought her inside, he said to the rest of the bodyguards, âCut the water supply for the house off as well.â
With that, she would have no access to meals, water, light, electricity, and even warmth. The punishment was to let her realize
her current situation and the fact that he would never care about her anymore.
There was no need for tricks anymore.
The bodyguards nodded and went to cut the water supply off.
Sherry was tossed into the living room.
John turned around and left the house with a frosty look.
The gate was closed shortly after he left. The silver MPV started and soon drove away from the secluded area.
When the car finally disappeared, several shadowy figures came out.
âBoss, thatâs Master Stocktonâs car Heâs gone. Should we act now?â
The leading man revealed psychotic excitement. âWe shall act according to plan! Burn this place to the ground.â
The group of men then went into the forest and made their way toward the house.
