Chapter 1623
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1623
Knock, knock.
Huh? What was that?
Sherry forcefully opened her exhausted eyes and the first thing she saw was darkness.
She was lying down on the living room floor, and the noise seemed to be coming from under the wall behind the living room.
Had she not been lying down, she would not have heard the noise.
The noise continued.
She frowned. She mustered her strength and crawled over. It took her a while to get close enough to the source, but the noise
stopped.
While she tried to wrap her head around the situation, a beam of light shone through the window and landed on her face.
Sherry instinctively covered her eyes with her hand.
The beam of light shone for quite a while before a helpless sigh sounded.
âSis, it has just been two months since we met. What got you into this state?â 3
There were almost no cars on the road in the suburbs.
The silver MPV cruised smoothly on the road and returned home shortly after.
The car continued driving on the main avenue in the estate, and when it passed by Madam Stocktonâs unit, a figure dashed out
and stopped the car.
The driver hit the brakes immediately. When he had a clear look at the person in front of him, he cried, â Ms. Queenie?!â
John was also surprised by Queenieâs sudden interception.
After the car stopped, Queenie headed to the side and opened the door. Before she got into the car, she sneakily looked around
to make sure no one was following.
She said to John, âBrother, come with me. We'll go to Momâs place through the backdoor.â
Baffled, John asked, âWhy the backdoor?â
Queenieâs eyes flickered and wore unprecedented seriousness on her face. âWe set up a little show. You just need to follow me
and watch.â
John was more confused than ever. âWhat show?â
âJust follow me because | canât be sure yet,â Queenie said softly and then pursed her lips.
Albeit the confusion, John unfastened his seatbelt and followed his sister to the hidden path, where no one would pass at this
hour.
Along the small path, they reached the backdoor of Madam Stocktonâs house. The door was open, and the brother and sister
went in.
Meanwhile, Julie and Mia came in from the front door.
There was no one in the front yard.
Julie felt uncertain. She asked softly, âAre you sure Queenie isnât around?â
Mia said, âIâm sure. She got sick, so Aunt Emerence sent her back to her place to rest.â
âIs Aunt Emerence asleep?â
Mia said with a grin, âl added something extra to her meal. | saw her dozing off when | came over. Iâm sure sheâs dead asleep.â
The two of them then entered the living room. Emerence was sleeping on the couch and would snore from time to time. As Mia
said, Emerence was dead asleep.
Julieâs eyes gleamed. She looked at Mia. âYou stay here and keep watch.â
âYes, Madam. Just go,â Mia said before she hid behind the door.
