Chapter 1730
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1730
Nelson trailed closely after them.
After they got out of the elevator, they headed straight for the car.
Nelson got in the driverâs seat and drove them to a nearby police station.
John helped Sherry out of the car and walked her into the station.
After lodging the injury report, Sherry was taken to the hospital.
The side of her face that she took the slap from was still slightly red and swollen.
One of her thighs was swollen as well, but the bones were not broken.
The doctor gave her some pain-relieving drugs and something to help reduce the swelling. In time, the swelling on her face went
away, and the swelling in her legs was mostly reduced as well. Although it still hurt a little to walk, she no longer needed John to
support her anymore.
She managed to walk out of the hospital by herself, then Nelson drove them back to her place.
Aunt Wanda had already got home with Caprice and was waiting for them at the door.
Upon seeing their return, Caprice trotted to them excitedly.
âDaddy! Mommy!â
Sherry took her into her arms, one step before John.
Caprice laid against her shoulders and asked out of curiosity, âMommy, where did you and Daddy go? Did the policemen take
you? Are you in trouble?â
âNo, Mommy only went to the hospital to see a doctor.â
âDid the doctor take a look at your cheeks?â
âYes.â
With that, Sherry took Caprice into the house.
John followed them into the house.
Later into the night, Carrie had fallen asleep and was tucked into bed. Even at that hour, John was still in the living room and
showed no intention of leaving.
Seeing as he saved her and had given her diligent advice regarding how to prosecute Aiden, Sherry went to the living room and
spoke to him more politely than usual, âCaprice is asleep, you can go back now.â
âSure.â He rose and approached her. He took a close look at her face which was no longer swollen but still glowed with a bright
red tint. Then, he took a look at her injured thigh before advising,â You should get some rest as well, make sure you take the
medicine the doctors prescribed you.â
Sherry avoided his gaze and answered dismissively, âI know, you can leave now.â
John smiled faintly. âGood night.â
With that, he turned and walked out.
Sherry swiftly headed back to the bedroom. She took the anti-inflammatory drugs prescribed by the doctor, then fell asleep with
Caprice in her arms.
It was midnight by this point.
The man walked out of the apartment and walked to the opposite hotel with Jason.
He asked sharply, âWhere are those thugs?â
Jason reported, âAfter they ran off, | had two of our men tail them just as you have instructed. Theyâre terrified and are hiding ina
shady old district on the outskirts of the city, trying to lay low until the entire thing blows over.â
John had everything planned out. âKeep an eye on them. Get a few more men together and have them spy on Ron, Aiden, and
Caden as well.â
Jason answered swiftly, âAlright, I'll have it arranged right away.â
John made a look and walked across the road.
The moon cast its brilliant glow on his face, something unusually vicious and sinister was hidden underneath his otherwise fair
and reserved expression.
He was going to make sure they got what they deserved for hurting Sherry.
The next day.
Sherryâs thigh had recovered considerably throughout the night, there was only some light swelling and lingering soreness.
Branches of capillary vessels were slightly visible under the surface of her cheeks. After she took a shower, she walked out of
the bedroom and opened the front door.
