Chapter 1794
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1794
Her charming eyes looked pure, unlike the women he saw in nightclubs.
She would never oversell her looks and treated people with sincerity. She had strong perseverance and a heart of gold, which
played a key role in winning the clientsâ hearts to secure the projects.
She was good at drinking as well. She once had a drinking competition with a client in an after-work meeting, and the client was
knocked out cold.
She was unlike other women that he met.
After she came into his life, he stopped going to nightclubs and severed all ties with the women that he slept with.
It had been a few years since they first met. Even though there were still people who called him a playboy, he had never touched
a woman since the first day of knowing her.
It was not because he did not want to have women in his company, but other than Sherry, no other females were able to match
his standards anymore.
He really liked her.
In contrast, Sherryâs image of him never changed since day one. He remained the playboy that she assumed he was and kept
toying with him.
He pursed his lips and continued gulping down the bottle of wine.
As the wine entered his throat, he heard footsteps approaching. He opened his blurry eyes and looked out of the living room.
A figure came into his sight.
He could not see properly due to the wine that he had been drinking. He instinctively called out, âSherry, is that you?â
Thud!
A pillow flew into his face.
âlam your mother!â Lisa screamed at him.
The pillow strike woke him up and cleared his vision.
Disappointed, he pursed his lips and put the bottle down. He sat straight up and removed his legs from
the table.
âWhat are you doing here?â
âIf |werenât here, you might already be dead from all this drinking.â Lisa looked at him in disappointment.â You stupid boy, | told
you to chase after Sherry, but you didnât want to listen to me. Now that youâve lost her, you are here poisoning yourself with all
this wine. Feeling shitty?â
Irritated, Carl lowered his head and hugged himself.
Lisa cighed. âI know you are feeling terrible, but you canât force someone to love you. You should get a hold of yourself and
concentrate on work. | believe Sherry will follow Master Stockton back to Glenchester soon. The company is in your hands now.â
Carl opened his eyes but remained silent.
Lisa went over to him and patted his head. âCarl, you are still young. As long as you run the company well,
you donât have to worry about not having someone as good as Sherry in the future.â
âThereâs only one Sherry Fowler in this world.â
He truly only had room for her in his heart.
Lisa sighed a second time. âCarl, you are not just my son; you are the heir to the company. Sherry went through a lot to help us
reach where we are today. | donât think you want to let her efforts go in vain after all this.â
Carl removed his hand from his head. He looked at his mother and said, âMom, | donât want Sherry to leave.â
Even if he could not be with her, he did not want her to leave Coastrock.
Lisa tightened her lips. âI donât want her to leave as well, but we canât change anything.â
John rooted his company in Glenchester, and Sherry was a capable woman. John would want Sherry to work in his company, for
both private and professional reasons.
Even if Sherry refused to join Johnâs company, with her capabilities and Johnâs help, she would be able to achieve a lot more if
she left the Sagers.
While Sherry decided to stay in the Sagers because of her debt of gratitude, Lisa could not be so selfish as to request her to stay
permanently.
Carl pursed his lips in silence. His vision started to turn blurry again.
Lisa tapped on his shoulder. âCarl, you must take over the company, not for me but for your father. If Sherry and Master Stockton
get another divorce in the future, only then you have the confidence and capabilities to make her yours.â
Carl's eyes shimmered all of a sudden.
Lisa cleared her throat and added, âBut if she leads a happy life, you must let her go.â
Carl smiled. âIl understand.â
Lisa sighed a breath of relief when she saw the hope in his eyes. âI have to go now. You should take some rest, and stop
drinking.â
âOkay.â
Lisa then left the house.
Carl got up for a bath and washed his face.
