Chapter 1833
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1833
Liam sat like a statue in the backseat there was a sharp glare in his eyes that made it seem like he was in a bad mood.
Caprice was cautious of sitting too close to him.
At some point during the ride, when she noticed that Liamâs expression was still as gloomy as when she entered, she muttered
weakly, âLiam, Iâm sorry.â
Liam looked at her with a puzzled expression. âWhat are you apologizing for?â
She answered frightfully, âI didnât know that you were waiting for me. | thought you already left for work. | should have left with
you, so you wouldnât have to spend time waiting for me.â
She figured that the reason he was upset was that he had been stewing in the car, waiting for her.
Liam grimaced, and several deep creases formed on his forehead. He entered into a somber silence.
Caprice took this silence to mean that her concerns were true. She had made Liam upset because she had been dilly-dallying.
She sat stiffly and spent the remainder of the ride in silence.
Soon, the car stopped in front of Sparkrow University dormitory.
âSee you, Liam,â she blurted out before scuttling out of the car like a thief.
Liam silently watched her as she retreated into the safety of her dorm, and he frowned.
What happened to the Caprice in the past? She used to be so excited to see him and affectionate with him! Why would she
refuse the offer to intern for him? Why was she so eager to get away from him?
Caprice went around the corner, up the stairway, and vanished out of sight.
Liam vented his frustration at the driver. âDrive!â
The driver stomped on the gas pedal, afraid of his wrath.
The finals were coming up.
The summer break would commence shortly after the finals.
Lanaâs family was based in Westchester, Freyaâs hailed from a remote town a long way away. while both Caprice and Piper
came both from Glanchester.
Since the group of friends was going to be separated for two months, they decided to spend the day at a nearby plaza after the
last paper. They were going to find something nice to eat before shopping together.
After a terrific feast at a famous restaurant, they strolled on the streets, ready to commence their shopping spree.
As soon as they passed around a bend, they heard a voice calling out from behind.
âCaprice?â
Caprice jumped and turned around.
It was a tall and lean boy who greeted her, and his skin was fair as snow. He looked a couple of years older than her.
He smiled warmly.
Caprice was about to ask who this strange person was when Freya immediately cried out in a shrill voice, âMoses!â
Moses!
Where had she heard the name before?
Piper exclaimed, âMoses? Moses Stewart? The one whoâs been voted as the most attractive man on campus for four years in a
row?â
Freya contained the excitement in her shrill voice as best as she could. âIt's him! But he just graduated this year, so weâre going
to have to see who his replacement will be going forward.â In the middle of their exchange, Moses walked out of a shop lot and
approached Caprice.
âHey, Caprice, Iâm Moses Stewart, nice to meet you.â He smiled and held out his hand to Caprice. He carried himself with such
formality that it looked like he was trying to make his best impression as a businessman. It was sort of humorous.
Caprice suppressed a smile and gently shook his hands while asking politely, âHi there, senior. Do you need something from
me?â
He smiled and remarked, âI was going to look for you a few days ago, but | know you were busy with the finals, so | figured |
shouldnât bother you. What a nice coincidence meeting you here! It must be fate.â
He paused dramatically to swipe careful glances at Freya, Piper, and Lana before turning back to Caprice. âMy friend owns that
dessert cafe over there. I'll treat you girls to something nice while we chat.â
