Chapter 1832
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1832
To her disappointment, there was scarcely any visible reaction on his face.
Sylvia seemed a fan of the idea. âThatâs right, Liam has another assistant who is very experienced. Iâm sure you can learn a lot
from both her and Liam as well.â
Sylvia turned to Liam. âLiam, what do you think?â
Liam muttered, âIt works.â
Caprice was shocked. He agreed almost without any hesitation!
âCaprice, do you want to?â Sylvia asked again.
As Liam turned to her as well this time, a pair of un-emotive dark eyes stared at her silently.
Caprice felt dizzy. Of course, she would love to! She could spend time with Liam.
However, Heather would not feel the same.
âCaprice? Whatâs wrong? Is there anything you're concerned about?â Upon sensing her hesitation, Sylvia grew worried.
âCaprice, just tell us what's on your mind. Donât worry about it,â Odell spoke up.
Liam stared at her the entire time. There was look of confusion in his eyes that slipped past Caprice.
Caprice hesitated for several additional seconds, then she turned to Sylvia and Odell. âAunt Sylvia, Uncle Odell, | donât know
how to get anything done. Liam needs a very capable assistant by his side. All Iâm going to do is create more work for him since
he'll have to clean up my mess.â
âOh, | thought it was something serious.â Sylvia chuckled and said, âCaprice, didnât | mention that Liam has another senior
assistant with him? You'll be fine, all you need to do is just show up and learn. You won't be a hindrance.â
âBut...â
âNo more buts. Do you want to go or not?â Sylvia demanded an answer.
Caprice glanced at Liam.
Liam was also looking at her, the indifferent look in his eyes as apparent as day. There was no telling what was on his mind at all,
whether he preferred Caprice to work for him or not.
Caprice pursed her lips.
Forget it, he already had a girlfriend. Even though she had feelings for Liam, she had to be respectful.
She turned to Sylvia and Odell and steeled herself. âAunt Sylvia, Uncle Odell, thank you for the offer, but | donât think Iâll do it. My
parents and grandma have been wanting me to go home to visit them, and my father spoke about having me over at his
workplace to pick up some experience. He will be upset if | suddenly intern somewhere else.â
It may not be the true reason for her refusal, but these were true facts. Her father did want her to take over the family business at
one point.
Sylvia and Odell glanced at each other, and they decided to stop pushing Caprice simply because there were no grounds for
them to convince her otherwise. Caprice was Johnâs only child and his most precious daughter, and he had always been very
protective of her. In truth, Odell had proposed for Liam to wed Caprice several times, but John refused every time.
John could not accept the idea of Caprice leaving him to be with Liam.
âOkay, but make sure you find time to visit us during the summer break, alright?â Sylvia dropped the matter.
Caprice smiled and nodded, always the good niece.
They continued eating.
Meanwhile, Liam wore a deep furrow on his face, and a gloomy look appeared in his eyes.
After the meal, Caprice said goodbye to Odell and Sylvia, then she left the house.
Liam had already excused himself midway through the meal. He must have something urgent
come up.
After walking out of the house, Caprice was about to head toward the car the driver usually drove to pick her up, and that was
when she noticed Liamâs car.
It was parked right in front of the gate.
Caprice was surprised.
Wasn't he gone?
That was when the driver stepped out of the car and opened the door for her, gesturing her to
enter.
Caprice obediently got into the car.
