Chapter 1875
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1875
âThey drove here themselves, they left already.â
Caprice darted a glance at Freya. Since it did not seem like Freya opposed hitching a ride, she turned to Moses. âIn that case,
sorry to have to trouble you again.â
There was no accessible public transport in the vicinity. Many of the visitors were crowded around the entrance and were either
waiting for their taxis or heading toward their cars.
Since Moses was going in the direction of the dormitory as well, it made sense to hitch a ride from
him.
âNo trouble at all.â He smiled warmly and led them to the parking lot.
He got into the driver's seat.
Caprice and Freya sat in the back.
The car picked up speed and swerved out of the parking lot.
Meanwhile, inside a car in the corner of the parking lot that had been parked there for a while.
Liam was seated by himself in the back.
He looked at the car that had just swerved out of the parking lot, then he commanded the driver, Go. Tail that car over there.â
âYes, sir.â The driver immediately began the pursuit.
Moses chatted with the girls while driving.
Midway through their conversation, Caprice suddenly remembered to check if Liam had replied to her message when she told
him she was leaving Carter Tech City.
She reached for her phone.
It was only then that she realized that Liam had texted her roughly five minutes ago. The text read, âIâm in the parking lot next to
the exit. Look for my car, you know which one it is. Iâll send you home.â
Caprice was horrified.
He was in the parking lot just now!
She quickly texted him, âI'm sorry, | just noticed your message. Iâm already on my way home with Frey. Donât have to wait up for
me, make sure you get some rest.â
Liam replied swiftly, âItâs not easy to find a taxi in the area, how are you two going home?â Caprice was very honest as she
replied, âWe hitched a ride with one of our seniors in university. He happened to be visiting the city today as well and is sending
us home since heâs going back to the
same area as us.â
Liam asked, âHeâs your friend at university?â
Caprice replied, âYeah, but heâs a fresh graduate.â
âI see.â
Caprice suddenly thought about him firing Heather.
She wondered if he had something to say about that. Perhaps he posted something in his feed?
She immediately tapped into his social profile.
The most recent post was the one he posted yesterday, the one she had already liked and
commented on.
He had not made a single post today.
Unless he made a private post only visible to a specific group of people.
She felt a bout of frustration.
She considered for a moment before deciding to text him, âIsabel told me that you just fired
Heather, is that true?â
âYeah.â
âWhy did you fire her?â
She stared at the phone and waited nervously for an answer.
Liam replied, âDid Isabel tell you about what Heather did?â
She did a double-take before replying, âYeah, she did.â
There was no response from Liam after that.
Caprice waited for a long time, it looked like Liam had dropped the conversation entirely.
What could this mean?
He might be a man of few words, but it was not like him to just leave a conversation unfinished
Furthermore, the way he asked if she knew about what Heather did made an impression on her. What if... What if he fired
Heather for her?!
