Yuan Bo: “Yao, you’ve been in quite low spirits lately. Did Su Yu dump you?”

Han Yueyao: “…”

Han Yueyao: “Yuan Bo, is your head full of shit? Can’t I be low in spirits once for a while? Why are you so certain that Su Yu dumped me? Damn. Stop cursing me, okay?”

Yuan Bo: “Haha. Since you’re in a good mood, how about coming out and having a drink with me? I found a small bar with a great atmosphere; the singer there sings folk songs. I…”

Before she could finish hearing Yuan Bo’s audio message, she typed her reply and muted her cellphone.

In her current mood, she didn’t want to see anyone; she just hoped Su Yu could come back safe.

Finishing her water, she stood on the balcony and looked at the lights from the neighboring buildings as all kinds of feelings rose in her heart.

She knelt carefully on the cold tiled floor.

“Buddha, please protect Su Yu and make him return safe. If he can come back safe, I’ll do anything; I’ll go to your temple to burn incense for you and kowtow to you… I’d trade ten years of my life for his safe return. Please, don’t let anything happen to Su Yu.”

Han Yueyao wasn’t a religious person but as Huo Mian once said, when one got desperate, one could only turn to a divine existence.

What else could she do?

In the jungle, Su Yu, Huo Mian and Zhao Qingya had walked for only half an hour but Huo Mian was already exhausted.

Zhao Qingya was probably making it difficult for them since the path she took was full of bumps and grooves; Huo Mian would be fine if she wasn’t pregnant. But with her big belly and swollen feet, the mountainous path was very hard for her to walk.

Seeing her pant heavily, Su Yu felt bad.

“Let’s take a break. You can’t go on like this.”
