Hearing cars coming after them, Huo Mian and Su Yu were both alarmed.

Huo Mian comforted Zhao Qingya, afraid she’d go mad and do something extreme.

Meanwhile, Lu Yan and Qin Chu each led a team and advanced to the bamboo cottages.

Since all electronic signals were blocked in this place, they brought hand-drawn maps with them before they parted.

Experienced with lots of field missions, Lu Yan and her subordinates reached the crossing faster than Qin Chu’s team.

But Leila was waiting for them.

“Young Master, they are here.”

Calculating the time, Leila’s subordinate reported in a low voice.

She put down the glass of human blood and smiled.

“They come just in time. I’m full and can have some fun with her now.”

She turned on her watch and watched Lu Yan get closer step by step…

At a wave of her hand, her subordinates all concealed themselves under the dense branches.

When Lu Yan and her subordinates pulled aside the last branch before them, they saw the woman standing before them.

“Sis?” Lu Yan was astonished to see her sister so soon.

Her sister just stood there alone, looking dumb.

“Yan.”

The woman looked quite emotional when she saw Lu Yan. Hearing her voice, Lu Yan relaxed since it was indeed her sister’s voice.

It was easy to fake looks but not one’s voice. Lu Yan was very sensitive to voices.

Without thinking, she ran over and threw her arms around the woman.

“Sis. I’m scared. Are you okay?”

“I’m fine. Yan, why are you here? How come you know I’m here?”

Lu Yan stopped when she glanced down and saw her sister’s flat belly.

“Sis, where’s the baby? Where’s your baby?” Lu Yan got riled up and raised her voice.

Hearing the mention of the baby, the woman looked a bit sad.

“Yan… The baby is gone… Those people…tortured me and Su Yu. I… lost the baby.”

“Why are you here?” Lu Yan was puzzled.

“They probably knew you came to rescue me and put me here as a bait. Yan, run… Don’t mind me… They are scary…”

The woman seemed to want to push Lu Yan away. Lu Yan felt worse to know that her sister had lost her baby due to tortures she had gone through.

As the woman pushed at her, Lu Yan caught her wrist.

“Sis… I won’t go. I’m here to rescue you. My brother-in-law and I will get you out of here… Where’s Su Yu?”

“Su Yu’s still in that bamboo cottages… It’s a trap. Yan, go; don’t mind me.”

The woman squatted down and wept with her hands on her face; she looked miserable.

“Damn. The bastards dared to mess with my sister. I’ll make them pay… with blood.”

Lu Yan was mad. Seeing her sister who was about to be in labor in such a miserable state, she was so furious that she wanted to raze the place to the ground.

As she strode toward the bamboo cottages in burning fury, she felt something chilly stabbing at the small of her back.

Reacting swiftly, Lu Yan turned and caught the attacker’s wrist, but her attacker twisted out of her grip.

Lu Yan leapt back and stared fiercely at the woman who had a sharp dagger in her hand.

“Who on earth are you?”

“Whoa. Very good. When did you find out?” Leila smiled as she played with the dagger in her hand.
