Pudding glanced at Little Bean and said, “Are you stupid? If Daddy told you, then it wouldn’t be a surprise anymore.”

“You two should focus on eating and not arguing. Be good at school,” Huo Mian nagged while she looked at them with motherly tenderness.

Then, Qin Chu’s mother said, “Mian, you guys are still young. You can have more children. I will help you guys raise it as long as I’m still healthy.”

“What are you saying?” Qin Chu’s father thought this was an inappropriate thing to say at a time like this.

To their surprise, Huo Mian didn’t mind. Rather, she looked happy.

“I thought so too. Honey, when I’m better, let’s try again, okay?” Huo Mian looked at Qin Chu with anticipation.

“Okay. As long as you’re happy.”

Qin Chu wasn’t as happy as she would expect but he still tried to please Huo Mian.

After having breakfast as a family, Qin Chu drove the kids to school before driving to work.

Huo Mian was escorted to South Side New Community Sky Blessing Court with the driver and bodyguard.

Bella and Zhixin didn’t know Huo Mian was coming so they went to work early in the morning.

At South Side New Community Sky Blessing Court, there were only two people, Yang Meirong and Jing De.

When Huo Mian went in, Yang Meirong greeted her with a bright smile. Yang Meirong didn’t know what had happened in the last few days so she was surprised to see Huo Mian’s flat belly.

“Mian, where’s the child?”

“Mom, I lost it…”

“Lost it? What do you mean? Did you give birth? Why didn’t anyone tell me?” Yang Meirong thought Huo Mian gave birth by an early C section.

“Mom, I lost the child…”

“Lost it?”

Yang Meirong was so overwhelmed by the news that she collapsed on the sofa.

Huo Mian didn’t reach out to catch Yang Meirong. Meanwhile, Jing De stood by the side, far away from them. He was scared of Huo Mian coming closer.

“Mian, don’t joke around with me. My heart’s weak and my blood pressure is high.”

“Mom, I’m not joking. It’s like this: Su Yu was kidnapped and I went to save him. In the end, however, the kidnappers bombed the place. Thankfully, Su Yu and I both came back alive. Unfortunately, the child died in the process and I had to have an induced labour of the dead child. Mom, my heart aches too but this is the truth,” Huo Mian told the story all at once. Yang Meirong couldn’t handle the news. She covered her chest and breathed heavily. Finally, she fainted.

“Rong…” Jing De was slightly worried when he saw Yang Meirong faint. He wanted to come over but Huo Mian stopped him.

“Okay now. She fainted so she won’t know anything. There’s only you and me here so stop pretending.”

Jing De immediately kneeled on one knee and said, “Hello Young Madam.”

“Have you been spoiled too much by this old woman and fell in love with her?” Huo Mian sat on the edge of the sofa and glanced condescendingly at Yang Meirong, who had fainted.

“No, I don’t dare to do so.” Jing De shivered with fear.

“It’s alright if you fell in love with her. She does look somewhat pretty. Huo Mian had called her mother for so many years so she’s quite a character. Sadly, she’s just utterly stupid. I don’t want to waste my time with her.”

“Yes Young Madam.”

“Number 2, is everything going smoothly here? Anyone catch you?”

“No one found out yet, but…” Jing De seemed to realize something.

“Hurry up and spit it out…” The glare on Huo Mian’s eyes looked vicious, scaring Jing De to his core.
