Chapter 64

24H | SEVENTEEN

"Noona?" Rumi hummed holding the phone in between her ear and shoulder as she went through the papers in her hands. "Eodiyo?" Rumi paused and put down the papers. "Umm...I have some work today-" "You weren't at company." Wonwoo cut her off. "Yesterday too and day before that too." Rumi squeezed her eyes shut and silently cursed. "Wonwoo-ssi...I am really sorry." She apologized hearing a huff in return. Rumi smiled knowing that he must have suiting a pout with narrowed eyes. "Noona ga jinja mianhae but I don't think I would be able come home today."

"Noona! Do you know how many days it's been since we last saw each other?" Wonwoo exclaimed making Rumi bit her lip in guilt. "It's been more than a week. We work in same company yet we are not able to see each other noona. Even though I manage to come home you are not there, either you are working overtime or not coming home at all!" Rumi sighed the guilt growing heavier. Wonwoo had been putting in all his effort even though it was difficult because of his profession yet Rumi wasn't able to give much time to him these days. The new assignment had taken over her time. "I'm sorry." Rumi apologized again she had nothing to say except from apologizing. She couldn't explain herself to him. "Just few more days Wonwoo-ssi."

She heard Wonwoo sigh from other side. "Aniyo, naega mianhae." Wonwoo apologized. "I know that noona has been working hard these days and I am being like this. Mianhae noona." He said making her shook her head. "No, no, you don't have to apologize. I understand what Wonwoo-ssi is feeling. I miss you too and its difficult for me too but this as-work, I can't walk out of it. I promise, it will be over soon and then I'll stick myself to your side!"  Rumi said earning a chuckle from him. "Really?" The sound of his carefree laugh brought relief to her ears. "How soon will it be over?" Rumi smiled looking down at the papers. "Hmm we are planning on-uh visiting the site tomorrow, so by tomorrow hopefully?" Rumi answered finding the right words. She wasn't making it up, they were planning on taking action tomorrow, the big racket they had discovered had far more roots in the entertainment industry then they had thought. "Really?! Then you will be home tomorrow?" Wonwoo asked sounding excited. "Tomorrow I do-"

"Rumi." Rumi looked up to see Gu Hwa standing at the door. She nodded at him and turned her attention back to Wonwoo. "Can I call you later?" There was silence from the other side, she almost thought he had hung up. "I will wait for noona tomorrow." "What-wait Wonwoo-ssi-" He had hung up. Rumi sighed and looked at her phone screen. Damn it, he's upset. "Rumi." She solemnly looked up. "Are yo-" Gu Hwa stopped, maybe he shouldn't she's just going to end up getting anger so it would be better that he doesn't ask her what's going on between her and Wonwoo-nim. "Prepared for tomorrow?" He changed his words. Rumi hummed tapping her fingers on the blue print laying in front for her.

"How long do I have to hold it?" Rumi questioned.

"As long as you can for us to drain their system and get everyone out." Hyun answered walking in from behind Gu Hwa. He bowed towards Gu Hwa in greeting. "We have intel that there are many artist and young idols who are trapped and blackmailed into working for them." He continued.

"You have to be very careful, there will be big names you'll be seeing there but our priority is to root out the racket and get each victim out safely." Gu Hwa added glancing at both of them. Hyun and Rumi nodded. The plan was to raid the site but before that they needed to get to the root. Taking direct action might make the mole ran away, so they were planning on going undercover. "You've checked out the map right?" Gu Hwa questioned glancing at his two agents who nodded their head in affirmative. "Good. Then be careful." He added looking at Hyun who was little surprised at his concern. "It might seem easy but it's not, people like these are erratic so you need to be prepared." He warned. Hyun nodded still confused with his sudden concern towards him. "This is something usual for beast over there." He added nodding towards Rumi who had zoned out and was in her own world. "I know this is first big case for you. I am somewhat relieved and worried at the same time that it is with her." Hyun furrowed his eyebrows. Gu Hwa smiled. "You both will balance out each other well. Trust her." He patted his shoulder and left.

"What was that?" Hyun muttered to himself.

Rumi sighed putting on the long coat over her very revealing dress. "Oppa, make sure you tell him that I am overtiming today." Rumi warned Youngjae who was following her around with carrying her little purse. "Arraseo I will. You have informed him about it right?" Rumi sighed at that. "Wae, you didn't?" Youngjae questioned looking at her distressed face. "Well, I tried to but-ugh damn it!" She cursed at her heels in anger which were being a nuisance.

Youngjae watched her wondering whether he should say out loud his thoughts or not. "Rumi-ya how about telling him the truth?" Rumi snapped her head up. "Oppa." Youngjae sighed nodding his head. "Okay, I understand." He pressed his lips together. "But can you manage to come back home today?" Rumi sighed shaking her head. "I doubt it." She answered. "But tomorrow is-" Rumi's ringing phone cut him off. "It's Hyun, he's here." Rumi muttered. "Okay, I need to go. Please help me out this time." Rumi requested taking his hand in hers. "Eo, go now. And take care, don't get hurt." Youngjae nodded handing her the purse. Rumi nodded her head and left thanking him once again.

Wonwoo smiled to himself parking his car and getting off. He checked the contents in plastic bag he was carrying. "I hope this is enough." He smiled to himself. "We can always get more though." He laughed making his way towards the elevator. "Noona will be surprised right? But before that I should make it edible." He chuckled again. Wonwoo was planning on cooking dinner today, he wanted to surprise his noona with his culinary skills.  "Hehe." He giggled imagining what expression would she have on her face and then giggled again at his silly thoughts. He stepped inside the elevator as door opened, he turned around and glance up when a car passed by, "Noona?" Wonwoo called out pressing on the button but the doors shut. "It was noona but what was she doing-with Hyun-ssi here?" Wonwoo furrowed his eyebrows. "She said she was overtiming today too and about some site visiting?"

The elevator doors opened indicating he had reached his destination. Wonwoo stepped out several questions running in his mind. Why was noona here when she said she was overtiming? Why was she here with Hyun-ssi? What was going on? Does this mean that noona lied to him? Ani! It can't be. Wonwoo shook his head getting rid of his thoughts. Wonwoo pressed in the password and entered the apartment hearing Youngjae's voice in greeting. "Wonu-ya is that you?" Youngjae asked peeking from kitchen. Noticing the bags in his hand he came to aid. "Eo? Did you bring all the ingredients?" He asked taking the bag from his hand and peeking inside it. "We had most of stuff at home." He smiled looking up at Wonwoo.

"Eo? I didn't know." Wonwoo replied distractedly. "Um hyung was Rumi noona-"

"Ah, Rumi is working overtime today." Youngjae cut him off. Wonwoo nodded when Youngjae turned around, "I just got off the phone with her, she said she'll be coming home very late." Wonwoo stopped furrowing his eyebrow. Phone? Wasn't she here? Why is hyung lying? "Wonu-ya, how about we postpone this plan to some other day, hm?" Youngjae asked placing the bag on the kitchen counter. "She won't be able to come today, she said there's lot of pending work at the company so she'll probably stay there-"

"Ani." Wonwoo said. Youngjae looked at him in surprise. "We are not postponing anything. Even if she's getting late I'll wait for her, right here." Wonwoo firmly said. "But-" "I'll wash up and then we can start with it." He said walking off towards the washroom. Hyung was lying, he was totally lying. Noona was not at the company she was right here just few moments ago yet hyung lied about talking to her on phone. Noona lied to me. She lied. But why? Why did she? I am going to find it out.

"Mother-fucker." Rumi silently cursed looking around. She strutted through the crowd as Hyun who was supposed to be her secretary parted the way for her. "This is huge then we thought." Hyun whispered glancing around. "Oh, it's going to be get worse." Rumi said nodding ahead where they were greeted by the security, more like stopped. Rumi turned to her acting mode.

"Good evening ma'am. May I have the invitation card please?" The one on leaner side asked smiling at her, Rumi checked him out as Hyun handed him the card. He scanned the card and placed it on the tray before giving a nod to other two. "We'll need to do quick security check before you enter. Please empty any electronic devices you are carrying in here." He smiled pointing towards another tray.

Hyun glanced at Rumi who just stared down the man, he placed his own phone in tray. "Miss Rathod is not carrying any electronic devices." He informed. The man smiled glancing down at the purse Rumi was carrying. Rumi smirked and held it up towards Hyun who bowed taking it from her hands and placed it in tray. "Thank you." The man smiled and glanced at other two who nodded and stepped towards Hyun and Rumi, respectively. "Wait a second." Hyun stepped in between Rumi and the boulder for a man. "What do you think you are doing?" He asked looking up at the boulder.

"Kim-ssi, this is our protocol." The man informed from behind the boulder. Hyun stared down the boulder not budging. "Please cooperate or we cannot let you enter." Hyun heard Rumi clear her throat so he stepped aside but his eyes still on the man. The man ignored him and stepped towards Rumi; he leaned forward to pat her down when Rumi slapped his hands away.

"Ma'am you need to cooperate..." He trailed off when Rumi removed her long coat tossed it on the man's shoulder revealing her little back dress that hugged her body in right places. She then put her arms up and twirled around for him. She raised her eyebrow at men gaping at her including Hyun, "Cooperative enough?" The men stared her down. "Eyes up here, big boy." Rumi said snapping her fingers in front of his face.

"What is happening here?" A new man entered the scene, Rumi cocked her head to side. Choi Jae-Yeong, just the man we were looking for. "What are you all doing?" He said looking unpleased with his staff. "Princess Nandini, we are really sorry about this." He bowed towards Rumi apologizing. "Yah, micheosse! Can't you distinguish between VIP guest and normal ones!" He screamed at his staff making them bow their head. "There is some mishaps here, we are really sorry." Choi Jae-yeong apologized again glaring at his staff who followed his lead and bowed towards Rumi in apology. Rumi clicked her tongue in response. "Yah get her stuff." Hyun's phone and her purse was handed back. "Aish ssibal-saekki." He cursed taking Rumi's coat off his man's shoulder. "Princess your coat..." Rumi walked off entering the venue with Hyun and Choi Jae-Yeong following behind her.

"Miss Rathod is just fine. You have a very warm way of welcoming your guest, Mr. Choi." Rumi announced making Choi Jae-Yeong bow again in apologise. "We are genuinely sorry; the boys are quiet stern when it comes to security." He explained. "Please let me guide you." He smiled guiding both her and Hyun through a round hall. Hyun scanned the hall confirming their surroundings; indeed, there were familiar faces here ranging from politicians to local gangsters. "This way please." They were guided up the spiral stairs and stopped in front of long wooden doors which were guarded by a security guard. Choi Jae-Yeong stepped forward, pressed his thumb on the biometric machine and leaned forward scanning his eye making the doors open with a click sound. "Please." He bowed welcoming Rumi into VIP area.

The atmosphere inside the room was relatively distinct from downstairs. It was buzzing with people, music just like any other club but up here it was a different world. One would immediately feel the difference as soon as they stepped into the room. The room was aligned with lavish sofas, décor contradicting the upbeat décor of rest of the club. Hyun scanned his surrounding again, there were few guest already present. The VIPs-is that? They had really stuck the gold; this place was like the hive for criminals. Hyun was suddenly feeling excited. Choi Jae-yeong guided them to one of the sofa, Rumi settled on it and looked down the glass. They were basically in a glass box, where they were hidden from the outside world but the hall buzzing with people was visible to them.

"Princess, we have a fresh list of candidates. Please choose one to your preference." Choi Jae-Yeong smiled placing a tablet on table making her glance down at the tablet which displayed a list of people. "They shall serve you until your stay here." Hyun peeked at it, what the hell? They are treating people like condiments in a sandwich.

Rumi picked up the tab and browse through it, "They have excellent skills and will be-" He was cut off with Rumi tossing the tab aside. "Is something wrong? Are they not to your preference?" He noticed her looking downstairs. He smiled, "If someone catches your eye we can arrange them for you." Rumi turned her head towards him. She raised her eyebrow, "Will you now?" Choi Jae-Yeong grinned with slight nod of his head. "Then..." Rumi tilted head to side, "How about him?" She nodded her towards the guy sitting right behind him.

Choi Jae-yeong turned around and froze, he thought she was pointing towards one of serving escort but turns out it was guest itself. "Princess we cann-" "Mr. Choi, you know what I am here for, so why you don't get to it and not waste your effort over this..." Rumi remarked. Choi Jae-Yeong bowed his head in understanding. "Yes. It will began shortly. Please enjoy some drinks while you wait." Choi Jae-Yeong signalled one of the escorts. "Then, I shall take your leave." He bowed and turned to leave. "Choi Jae-Yeong." He stopped, "Yes princess." Rumi glanced down. "Ah maja!" He let out a small laugh and handed her coat to Hyun which he had been carrying all along. "Then excuse me." He bowed and shortly left the room.

"Did you check it out?" Rumi asked glancing at Hyun who nodded in affirmative. "How long do we have?" Rumi asked when the escort arrived carrying a bottle of wine and whisky and he then proceeded to place himself beside Rumi. "Wine or whisky?" The eye candy asked smiling at Rumi. "Whisky." Rumi smiled and leaned back in sofa. She then glanced at Hyun who nodded and left for a little trip.

Though they had mapped out the whole club, they still had no idea where the victims were held, how many of them were around. The only intel they had was the young idols were trapped in this web and were forced to sell themselves to this disgusting, sorry excuse of humans. This was a joint mission; agent were to infiltrate the club while police were to raid this place at their signal. Hyun glanced around and scratched his ear. "Is everyone at the position?" Affirmative response was heard back. Hyun nodded and walked towards the doors they had entered from. "You cannot use this door, sir." He was stopped by the guard. "I just need to use the washroom; I saw one on the way." Hyun explained looking at the guard.

"You can use one over there." The guard said pointing towards his right. Hyun turned; it was right there. "Ah, I didn't notice that." He let out a small laugh before patting the guards shoulder. "Gamawo." He smiled and turned around. Rumi raised her eyebrow from across the room. Hyun shook his head, if they want to move around this place then they would need Choi Jae-Young. Ah this is going to be pain in the ass.

When Hyun returned back the sight in front of him made his eyebrow twitch in annoyance. Hyun stomped towards them and stood in front of them. Both of them didn't bother to look up. "Does that mean anyone who marries you will become the king?" Rumi giggling at that. "Ani." Rumi whispered in his ear, "He will be my consort." Hyun clicked his tongue; how can she do this? Yes, she has to put up this act but still... "Why? Are planning on getting out here?" Rumi asked placing her hand on his exposed part of chest. "Hmm I have been stuck here for too long..." What the hell is he doing? The escort's hand was slowly trailing up from Rumi's leg to the little slit of dress on her thigh. Yah this gaesaekki! Hyun deliberately cleared his throat loudly grabbing their attention. "Would like a drink Mr. Secretary?" The escort asked looking at him with smug expression. Hyun grinded his teeth trying to keep his curses inside. "You can help yourself, Mr. Kim." Rumi said cupping the escort's face and turning it so he was facing her again. The escort smiled glancing down at her lips.

"So, what were we talking about?" Rumi whispered tracing his jawline with her finger nail. "How long I've been working here for?" He whispered back. "Too long to know my way around each corner." He leaned in, Rumi smirked pressing her finger against his lips. "Ow, are you bored? Working all day in this box?" The guy smiled slightly licking her finger. "Wae? Are you going take me instead of them?" He asked raising his eyebrow. "I know you are here for them." Rumi smirked leaning back. "I heard this time's batch is quite exquisite. Young, little virgins. Some of them have quite a name in entertainment industry, aren't you here for one of them?" He asked looking at Rumi who silently sipped on her whisky.

"You seemed to know lot about classified information." Hyun intervened making the escort to look up at him. "Didn't I say I worked around here for too long to know my way around?" The escort smirked. Hyun smirked back and glanced at Rumi. "Wae? Do you want me to get you the list of goods?" He asked turning towards Rumi who smiled and placed the empty glass on the table. The escort leaned forward and filled her glass. "But it's not going to be free." He said holding up the glass. Rumi let out a chuckle, "Hmmm...let's just say you do another thing for me and I'll take you." Rumi took the glass from his hand and leaned back in couch. The escort glanced at her and then at Hyun, they weren't bluffing, were they? "You are not here for goods?" He questioned glancing at two.

"We are here for more than that." Hyun answered making him snap his head towards Hyun. "Do we have a deal or not?" The escort glanced at two of them and slowly nodded his head. "Okay. Deal." He smirked.
