Chapter 178
Billionaire’s Missing Darling
The next day, Olivia woke up and prepared breakfast for herself.
She didnât eat the breakfast made by the Patterson family, not because she didnât like it. It was because since she had decided to improve her culinary skills, she wanted to try her own cooking first.
Breakfast was simple. She prepared boiled eggs and pancakes.
Olivia had a habit of making food for two, not because she ate a lot, but because she was used to leaving a portion for someone else.
However, after subconsciously making an extra portion, she frowned. She was worried that it might go to waste if no one ate it.
Just as she was thinking about what to do with the extra portion, the chef approached with a smile.
âMs. Olivia, did you make an extra serving?â
Olivia looked up.
The chef encouraged himself and asked, âCan I have it?â
Olivia pushed the plate toward him.
In an instant, the chef was happy, even his eyes lit up with joy.
The butler was busy with morning tasks, and by the time she came to the kitchen, there was only a clean plate left.
The butler was frustrated and she exclaimed. âWhy didnât you leave some for me?â
Upon hearing the commotion in the kitchen, some servants came over to take a look. They learned that the butler and chef were fighting over the breakfast made by Olivia.
One of the servants was surprised and asked, âIs it really that good?â
A chef who was skilled in making pastries, sneered and replied disdainfully, âWho knows?â
After breakfast, Olivia went to examine Anthony and coordinate the next steps of his treatment./
Gabriel and Lindy went over together.
At the door, Lindy hesitated, her steps slowing down.
Gabriel looked back at her and urged, âHurry up.â
Lindy forced a smile. âOkay.â
She felt somewhat guilty, but more so, she felt remorseful.
Olivia was putting so much effort into this, yet she had been sneaking the medicinal cuisine without her knowledge. It made her feel like she was letting her down.
However, while she held this remorse, she couldnât joke about her sonâs health. She thought about making it up in other ways later, perhaps by sending some gifts or offering financial help to Olivia.
When they arrived at Anthonyâs room, Olivia first carefully observed his expression and then asked a few simple questions before taking his pulse. This time, she took his pulse for a bit longer.
The Patterson family had never held her medical skills in high regard, but seeing her this way, their hearts couldnât help but be anxious.
âWhatâs wrong?â Gabriel asked impatiently.
Olivia looked up, gazing intently at Gabriel without saying a word.
Then, her gaze shifted indifferently to Lindy.
Lindyâs heart tightened, and her scalp felt like it was about to explode. She suddenly had the feeling that Olivia had seen through her.
It was as if everything was laid bare in her eyes.
Soon, Olivia withdrew her gaze, speaking with a slight calmness, âEverything is fine.â
The butler spoke up at the right time, âMs. Olivia, what kind of medicinal herbs should we prepare today? Iâll have someone get them ready.â
Olivia replied, âSame as yesterday.â
The butler paused, unable to contain his surprise, and asked, âDidnât you mention that the medicinal cuisine is different every day?â
âYes.â Olivia lowered her gaze. âToday is only the first day.â
Lindy gripped her sleeve tightly as her heart was racing. She was a little flustered.
Could it be that Olivia had figured it out?
If Olivia had indeed known the truth and questioned her, how would she explain?
Even though she didnât want Anthony to consume the medicinal cuisine, she didnât want to upset Olivia.
And just as she was feeling panicked, Olivia looked up and cast another 11:14 Bathonai glance at the butler.
Her voice remained soft, but it carried a hint of curiosity. âDid you drink that soup?â
The butler was shocked and looked at Olivia in disbelief. âHow did you know?â
Olivia didnât respond to her question but instead asked, âHow do you feel?â
âFeel?â
The butler paused for a moment, then quickly grasped the situation. Did Olivia ask her how she felt after drinking the soup?
The butler hadnât thought of this before, so she hadnât noticed. Now that she was reminded, she carefully recalled how she felt after drinking the soup.
Her thoughts were in turmoil.
Could it be that everything was because of the chicken soup?
She had even thought this morning that she had slept well the previous night.
She had always been a light sleeper. Recently, perhaps due to the change in weather, her leg joints had been aching, and she couldnât sleep at night.
But last night, she slept exceptionally soundly. Not only did her leg joints. not hurt, but she also didnât wake up during the night and slept until morning.
When she woke up, she felt refreshed and full of energy.
Initially, she hadnât thought about the chicken soup, but now the more she thought about it, the more astonished she became.
She carefully described her feelings after drinking the chicken soup and then gazed intensely at Olivia.
She thought in her mind, âIf all this was due to the chicken soup, wouldnât Ms. Olivia be a miracle doctor?â
After listening to the butlerâs narration, Olivia didnât say much. Instead, she turned around and looked intently at Anthony, asking, âDo you want to drink it?â
Anthony smiled and nodded. He replied with a clear and gentle voice, âWith such a miraculous soup, how could I not drink it?â
11:14 Olivia blinked and said okay before getting up to leave.
Gabriel went out to see her off.
However, Lindy didnât move. She sat on the chair and was lost in thoughts.
Anthony looked at his mother and sighed internally. He had already gathered the situation from everyoneâs reactions and the butlerâs words.
Lindy had likely not trusted Oliviaâs medical skills, hence she didnât allow him to try the medicinal cuisine.
He walked over, sat next to Lindy, and held her hand. âI know youâre doing this for my own good.â
Touched by Anthonyâs consolation, Lindyâs eyes welled up slightly.
She had never expected that Olivia would find out, let alone that she could tell who had drunk the soup.
For a while, her dignity was somewhat compromised.
Anthony reassured her. âMom, this is a good thing!â
âWhat good thing? Are you laughing at Mom, too?â Lindy scolded while wondering why it was a good thing. She was so embarrassed that she wished she could disappear instantly.
Anthony smiled. âEven though Olivia could tell that I didnât drink the medicinal cuisine and it made you lose face, it also indirectly shows how skilled she is. Isnât that a good thing?â
âThatâs right!â Lindy finally grasped the positive aspect.
Olivia could tell that Anthony didnât try the medicinal cuisine just by taking his pulse. She also knew that the butler had tried the medicinal cuisine by just talking to her. This showed that her medical skills were exceptional.
Not only was she powerful, but she was also observant.
Lindy was now excited.
However, after her excitement, she felt worried. âWill Ms. Olivia be angry with my doing?â
âNo, sheâs not angry with you,â Anthony explained calmly. âShe not only isnât angry but also understands your concern. Thatâs why she asked the butler to describe the changes in her body to put your mind at ease.â
Anthony had a very sensitive heart due to his physical condition, which allowed him to easily perceive the emotions of others.
11:14 âThatâs great.â Lindy was relieved.
After learning that the medicinal cuisine soup had been consumed by the butler and the chef, Lindy quickly called the two of them over to ask about the details.
The chef, with a more robust disposition, didnât pick up on the subtle changes like the butler did. He only noticed that his wrist was no longer aching. He was used to holding a large ladle with his left hand, Although he was strong, it still had caused him to develop chronic pain.
The ladle was usually heavy, making it difficult to handle.
But after drinking the medicinal cuisine the previous day and getting a good nightâs sleep, he noticed that the condition of his hand had become better and it didnât ache anymore.
After hearing the chefâs words, Lindy and Gabriel exchanged excited glances.
Gabriel took a deep breath to calm his emotions and then called Berina.
âBerina, tell me the truth. How good are Ms. Oliviaâs medical skills?â
âIt should be good.â
Gabriel furrowed his brows, dissatisfied with his sisterâs response. What did she mean by âshouldâ?
âThen how did you know that Olivia knew how to treat patients?â
Berina frowned and thought carefully before hesitatingly saying, âIâve seen her treating Mr. Bookâs condition. Itâs strange, isnât it? Why didnât Mr. Book go see the renowned physician Isaac? Instead, he came to our base to consult with Olivia. Through his demeanor and conversation with Olivia, he seemed to have full trust in her.â
Gabriel was surprised upon learning that Jake had consulted Olivia for his health.
His eyes widened suddenly as his heart raced, and his mouth went dry.
That was Jake, one of the prominent figures in the Hushe Republic.
