Noticing Keith’s disdain for Jason, Kristin sent her son away.

In the hallway, Jason leaned against the wall, defeated, and lit a cigarette. His figure was lonely silhouette in the smoke-filled corridor.

Kristin, emerging from the room and seeing Jason’s troubled state, couldn’t muster any anger.

“Mom,” said Jason, stubbing out his cigarette as Kristin approached. He straightened his back, ready to face her.

With a sigh, Kristin told him, “Your grandfather is still furious. Go home and get some rest.”

Jason remained silent.
