Chapter 247
30 Days till I Divorce My Husband (Estrella and Jason)
Chapter 247 Before, Jason only thought that Isaacâs personality was a bit like his, but now Jason felt like even Isaacâs features resembled his own. Although, overall, Isaac still looked like Estrella.
After wrapping up a conversation with Jason, Estrella turned her attention to Isaac, who needed some comforting. âSweetie, Mommy already had a word with Uncle Jason. He wonât do that again. Iâm all yours, and no one is going to take me away.â
Isaacâs mood seemed to brighten at her words, and he stuttered out, âI donât need Daddy anymore.â If Daddy was here to compete for Mommyâs affection, then as far as he was concerned, he could do without a daddy from now on.
At Estrellaâs side, Jasonâs expression darkened, Pinching Isaacâs chin gently, he asked, âIf I canât be your daddy, then what should I be?â
Since Jason kissed Estrella last night, Isaac had stopped calling him âDaddyâ. Now Isaac did not seem to be interested in the presence of Jason at all.
Upon hearing Jasonâs question, Isaac turned his head and stared at Estrella with expressive eyes and lively expressions.
Jason turned to Estrella and said, âTranslate for me.â
Estrella held Isaac close and said nonchalantly, âMy son says that the whole being-your-dad ship has sailed. But heâs open to the idea of brotherhood.â
As soon as the words left Estrellaâs lips, Jason reached out and held her chin, âEstrella, do you really get a kick out of these little victories?â
The moment Jasonâs fingers grazed her skin, Isaacâs eyes widened in alarm, and he instinctively pushed Jason away. Frustrated yet amused by Isaacâs protective stance, Jason withdrew his hand and exclaimed, âDamn it, canât I even touch my own wife?â
Isaac wrapped his tiny arms around Estrellaâs neck, puffing up like a little peacock to declare his territory, signaling that his mother belonged to him.
Jason scooped Isaac into his arms, âQuit clinging to your mom. Let her freshen up. Sheâs got work, and we need to get you two home.â
Once he had Isaac in his arms, the little boy didnât resist. He just pinched Jasonâs mouth shut to prevent any further kisses.
Holding Isaac with one arm, Jason looked at Estrella and said, âIâll keep an eye on Isaac. You go get ready.â
Since Jason was quite skilled with kids, Estrella went about my morning routine.
What she didnât know was that three years earlier, when Marie had been so certain about 1/3 08:21 Chapter 247 her pregnancy, Jason had studied up on all kinds of childcare material. Now, his preparations were paying off.
In no time, when Estrella came out of the bathroom, she saw Jason patiently feeding Isaac breakfast. Not only did he put on a bib for Isaac, but he also held a wet tissue in his right hand, ready to wipe Isaacâs mouth at any moment.
Leaning against the doorway, Estrella watched them. Jasonâs knack for parenting surprised her, especially since he was so caring toward Isaac, even knowing Isaac wasnât his.
Isaac was a perceptive child. He could tell who genuinely cared for him, and he reciprocated that affection. If it wasnât real, he wouldnât let you near him, let alone feed him. So far, aside from Bryce and Jesse, Jason was the only other person Isaac was willing to warm up to.
Despite the previous nightâs argument, Isaac seemed willing to forgive Jason.
âMama.â It was only when Isaac called out to Estrella that Jason realized she was there. He turned and said, âThe housekeeper brought breakfast. Thereâs your favorite soup. Weâll head home after you eat.â
Jason served the hot soup into a bowl before continuing to feed Isaac.
Estrella took her time walking over to the dining table. Sitting down, she addressed Jason, âJason, Isaac isnât your son. Donât hold on to false hopes, or youâll end up disappointed.â
Jason chuckled, âEstrella, you think Iâm looking after him because I suspect heâs my son?â He added, âIt doesnât matter whose child he is. Heâs yours, and thatâs all that matters.â
After finishing his words, Jason went back to feeding Isaac soup, which Isaac enjoyed, even giving Jason a thumbs up in approval as Jason wiped his mouth.
When breakfast was over and Jason was changing, Estrella told him, âI can take Isaac back myself.â
âIâm heading to the office anyway. Itâs on the way,â he replied.
Soon they were all in the car, where Estrella noticed Jason had installed a child safety seat in the back, and there were toys scattered around. Jasonâs attention to detail didnât go unnoticed by Estrella.
Isaac played contentedly, having forgotten the earlier squabbles with Jason, although Isaac no longer called him âDaddyâ.
When playtime exhausted him, Isaac fell asleep clutching a toy. Estrella draped a light blanket over him, and Jason glanced at them through the rearview mirror. âIsaac seems a bit shy. He doesnât talk much except to people he likes.â
Yesterday, while playing in the hospital room, he wouldnât give anyone but Jason the time of day, ignoring doctors and nurses, sticking close to Jasonâs side.
2/3 08:21 Chapter 247 Estrella explained, âHe had a rough time in my womb and wasnât easy to care for after he was born. He spent a long time in an incubator only improving in the last few months. Heâs still bit introverted, so Iâve discussed with my mom about sending him to early education to socialize with kids his age.â
Jasonâs heart clenched hearing about Isaacâs tough start. Gripping the steering wheel tightly, he said, âYou kept things pretty tight-lipped.â
When Estrella left, Jason had tried to find her numerous times, but she refused to see him, and he couldnât even dig up any information about her life until recently, after much effort. Jason let the silence linger for a moment before pressing on. âWhat about Isaacâs grandparents? You havenât filled them in either, have you?â
