Anne listened to Ashlynn as she explained all the illegal businesses the Lloyd Family was involved in

and widened her eyes in disbelief.

Though Anne had forgotten about what kind of person her father was, any ordinary person would

struggle to accept such immoral acts, not to mention being involved in it.

“Just keep this in mind and stay out of this mess,”

Ashlynn reminded, determined to handle Corentin on her own.

“What about you?” Anne asked. “After all that you've said, my uncle...”

“It's fine. I'm his wife. He won't hurt me.” Once Ashlynn found evidence of Corentin’s crimes, she

would definitely have him arrested.

Salvatore’s true nature would never change and it was only a matter of time for him to make a

mistake.

After ending the call, Anne stood dazedly, still surprised to learn that she had made such a promise

with Ashlynn. Her intention must have been to learn the truth, but what was Ashlynn’s role in this?

Anne did not understand the situation well, but it seemed as though Corentin and Ashlynn did not

marry for love.

Anne paused and realized that the same applied to her own marriage.

Anthony married her for the children and because Bianca told him to do so. Since Bianca regretted

her choice, Anne's position was at risk, which was why she spent most of the time in her office and

involved herself in most tasks even when Xander was in charge, she even went to the factory with

Xander to check on the construction.

So long as she avoided seeing Anthony, he would not have the chance to propose a divorce.

With nothing left to do in the afternoon, Anne returned to her own apartment and laid down on the

couch for a nap.

After a while, she jolted awake at someone knocking on the door.

Anne rubbed her eyes drowsily and got up to open the door. Without peeking through the

peephole, she opened the door without hesitation and froze when she saw Bianca standing in front

“I just dropped by to see if I can get in. I didn't expect someone to be here. Why are you here? Are

you alone?” Bianca asked

She had sent people to keep an eye on Anne the entire time because Mia had reported that

Anthony and Anne were getting along harmoniously.

Bianca would not allow that. At the same time, she received a report that Anne had not spent much

time in the Royal Mansion. Realizing that Anne was probably avoiding Anthony, Bianca decided that

this was her chance to add fuel to the fire.

“Do you need something?” What Bianca said in

“My mom was killed here, right? I just wanted to take a look. Can I come in?” Bianca asked politely.

Without another word, Anne let her in.

Bianca walked over to the balcony with a depressed look on her face.
