Chapter 303
Hold My Tear, I’m Getting My Wife Back! ( Leanne Castillo )
Chapter 303
The morningâs surgeries had barely ended when Amy rushed over to Leanne.
âDr. Castillo, we just admitted a patient suspected of having uveitis. Ruben asked for you to check on him.â
âRight away.â Leanne swiftly changed out of her scrubs, donned her white coat, and headed to the ward.
Several people surrounded the hospital bed, same sitting, some standing. As Leanne entered, multiple gazes shifted toward her.
Suzan, Claudine, and a few unfamiliar people were there, while Harrington lay on the bed.
Upon seeing her, Ruben promptly introduced her to the group. âThis is Dr. Castillo from our department who is young and talented. Her expertise in uveitis is well recognized. Sheâs also known for her great character. I think sheâs the best choice for Mr. Wrightâs consultation. What do you think?â
âItâs you,â Harrington faded his smile, a clear displeasure evident in his tone.
Remaining professional, Leanne greeted him, âMr. Wright.â
Ruben, sensing the tension in the air, glanced back and forth between Leanne and the Wright family.
The patient was a high-profile one, personally admitted by the deputy director. Ruben had thought that Leanne, with her past as a high-society wife, would be perfect for the job, but it seemed he had misjudged the situation.
Harrington scrutinized her with a critical eye. âSheâs only been working for a few years as a woman. What kind of expertise could she have? Doesnât your hospital have other specialists?â
âThere are indeed other specialists,â Ruben hurried to explain. âDr. Smith is also an expert in uveitis, but heâs away on a consultation right now.â
Harrington was reluctant to have Leanne examine him, and Leanne wasnât particularly eager to entangle herself more with his family than necessary.
Despite not specializing in uveitis, Leanneâs experience in ophthalmology was extensive.
Ruben might not have the best personality, but his medical skills were competent.
Leanne decided to step away, âThen, Iâll leave you to it.â
âWait,â Suzan suddenly spoke up, persuading Harrington. âDad, since itâs Leanneâs area of expertise and we all know each other, it might be best to let her handle it.â
Leanne wasnât sure what Suzan was scheming but responded, âThere are many more

experienced doctors in our department. Ruben is more skilled. Let them take care of Mr. Wright.â
Harrington wasnât keen on Leanne, just some orphan who turned into a thorn in their familyâs side.
He might disdain her, but he wouldnât allow her to refuse treating him.
âHow do doctors have the right to refuse treating patients?â Harrington spoke with the authority of a seasoned chairman. âSince Suzan and your chief have recommended you, letâs proceed with you then.â
Doctors indeed couldnât refuse to treat patients, bound by both law and ethics.
Leanne, more professional and broad-minded than Harrington, had previously treated Suzanâs injuries and wouldnât refuse to treat him now.
âI have no issues with that. If youâve made up your mind, Iâll prepare some tests to better understand the causes and extent of the uveitis,â she stated calmly.
Leanne was in the middle of a busy afternoon when an unexpected call from Harrington came through.
âCome over now!â he demanded curtly.
âIâm currently in the clinicâ¦â
Before she could finish, he hung up.
Leanne just shrugged, put her phone down, and kept checking on her patients.
Later that afternoon, Jennifer arrived at ElitePinnacle in a chic and elegant suit, ushered respectfully to the CEOâs office by the secretary.
Curtis was absorbed in documents, graphs, and texts sprawled across the table.
âMr. Richardson, your mother is here,â announced the secretary.
Without looking up, Curtis instructed, âMake a coffee with milk but no sugar.â
Once the secretary left, Jennifer approached.
âHave a seat,â Curtis said distractedly, gesturing to the cluttered coffee table, his features sharp against the black leather.
âSomething on your mind?â he asked, multitasking.
âI can wait,â Jennifer replied, noting his busyness.
âJust spit it out,â he insisted, still focused on his documents. âBusy day today. I need to see the kids later.â
âSee the kids?â Jennifer was confused. âWhose kids?â

âObviously, mine and Leanneâs,â Curtis said as if it were the most natural thing.
âWhat are you even talking about? Since when do you and Leanne have kids?â Jennifer pressed, growing uneasy.
âLetâs not get into that now,â Curtis waved her off, his attention still split.
âTalk the truth to me.â Jennifer continued.
