Chapter sixty two
His Mate: Prince Asher
"She is firmly secured in the dungeon now. Finally, we have done what she wanted, hope she can let us be now," Alpha Joe said and the rest of the alphas nodded.
Liam sighed on his seat, he could feel his strength disorienting with each passing second. He still hasn't forgotten how the cloaked woman had suddenly appeared, demanding that Gideon go and apprehend the human girl otherwise she would kill him. It was so urgent for her that she even created a portal for them to follow. When Gideon eventually brought the girl, he was surprised to see that she was a wee little thing. How could such a fragile looking girl pose a threat to a strong being like the cloaked woman? Even though it was over an hour the girl has been brought to his pack, he still can't stop thinking about how weak and fragile she looked.
"Alpha Liam, did you hear what we said?" Joe asked and Laim nodded.
"You must remember, she must not be hurt," he said, "Gideon mentioned that the Alpha King seem to be smitten with her."
"What? Such a little human girl? Isn't he like over six hundred years old? What would he want with such a little girl?" One of the alphas asked.
Liam shrugged, "I don't think it's still the alpha king with our forefathers that is still reigning now. The powers must have been passed to his son."
"Even still, he would be like four hundred plus years old."
"Well, maybe he has passed it to his own son?" Laim raised an eyebrow.
"No matter what, whoever may hold the power would still be hundred plus years older than her. From what we know, the alpha power is passed down every two hundred years. So, the alpha king must really be a pervert to be smitten with her."
"Be careful with your words," Joe warned and the rest nodded, making the alpha that said that to feel embarrassed. He seemed to have forgotten who he was talking about. "Where is Gideon by the way, another blood moon has passed without him finding his mate. Is this the faith of the Moonstone pack? Without a mate, how can he have the next alpha for the Moonstone pack?"
"Let us survive this problem first before talking about next generation," Liam said and forced himself to stand up, he almost doubled over but an alpha closed to him helped him stand. "From the look of things, if she doesn't hurry up with what she is doing so that we can free the girl, I have every reason to believe that the alpha king would pay us a visit."
Joe didn't know what to say. In as much as he wanted to refute the words, he knew Liam wasn't lying and Liam was not the man to fear for no reason. "Well, we can only hope that we are fully protected here, otherwise, it would really be the end of us."
"Why is the both of you talking like this, we have successfully dwelled here for five hundred years, of course we are fully protected in the woods. If it wasn't for that wicked woman, the Westwood packs would not have known we existed and we would have continued to live here in peace. I strongly believe that after all these is over, we would go back to living as peacefully as we have been doing," an alpha said, making the other two to nod in support.
Before Liam could say anything, the door was thrown open and Gideon barged in, "Dad, why is Naomi in the dungeon?"
"Show some respect future alpha Gideon, we are all still alphas and you are not supposed to barge into the room like that. If there was anything, you should have spoken to your father's Beta."
Gideon cupped his hands and bowed in apology but still said, "Forgive me, Alpha Joe, what I did was wrong but I still can't talk to Beta Nick, what I am asking for is dire."
"Fine," the older alpha waved his hand, "who is this Naomi anyway?"
"The human girl," Gideon said, making the alphas frowned.
"Why can't she be in the dungeon?" Joe asked, "don't tell me that future alpha Gideon has indeed fallen for her?"
Gideon felt embarrassed but remembering Anita's beautiful face and succulent body, he shook it off. He already has a perfect mate, why would he fall for a human girl? "No, Alpha Joe is mistaken. Like I told my father, Alpha King is smitten with her, only that now, I don't think it's all about being smitten."
"Then what?" Laim asked.
"I think she is his mate. Didn't you all see the crescent moon on her neck? That is not a tattoo, that is a mating mark and I am sure if not here already, the alpha king would be on his way. The least we could do is to give his mate a befitting treatment. We have already taken her against her will, what do you think would become of us if he finds her in our dungeon?"
"His mate?" Liam was genuinely shocked hearing that, his thought going to the mark he had seen on her neck. He had indeed thought it was a tattoo but now, hearing she is the alpha king's mate, he closed his eyes. It was over, there is no surviving this. How could you keep a female away from her male? If the alpha king couldn't find them before, now he would because his mating mark would guide him there.
"Oh Goddess, what are we going to do now? If she is really his mate, then he will definitely find us, we can't hide her from him as long as that mating mark is potent," Joe said. "We have to do something."
However, a commotion sounded outside and they heard women screaming, drawing their attentions to the door and they knew instantly without even seeing him that he was there. So fast and so angry.

Naomi stared around the empty and cold room and heaved a defeat sigh. She closed her eyes as another line of tear drew across her cheek. She had been calling for Asher in her mind from the moment Gideon took her, hoping he would come and save her, even if it would be the last thing he did for her. But it has been over an hour now and there was no sign of him. This was someone that would appear before her within seconds before but now, over an hour, he was still not here. "What were you thinking, Naomi?" she chided herself. "Have you forgotten that he didn't come to you last night despite being in the same house? Is it now that you are miles away from him that he is going to come?" she chuckled in defeat as more tears rolled down her cheeks and her chest felt heavy. "Get used to it, you mean nothing to him. If it wasn't for the mark, he wouldn't have shown you any attention. Now he has his real mates, who did you think you are to call for him to come and save you?"
Even though she was saying all those things to herself, it didn't stop the heart wrenching pain she was feeling. Perhaps a part of her had wished he would come, a part of her had wished he would feel her in danger like he did that night, perhaps a part of her had wanted him to have even an atom of feeling for her, just enough to let him know she was in danger and to save her. But it was too good to be true, how could she expect that from him when she means nothing to him?
Guess it was like Irene had said, if she is part of their family, then she can count on them to save her but since she is not, she better accept her fate. Maybe Gideon would really stick to his words of not hurting her and just keeping her there for some time. She brought her tied hands to her face and wiped away her tears, her heart already succumbing to her fate and she closed her eyes. However, as soon as her eyes closed, she heard the sound, it was a frizzling sound and she opened her eyes, shocked to see the woman right in front of her. "Aunt Gaia?"
"Hello, Naomi," the woman smiled. "Long time no see."
Fresh tears blurred Naomi's vision at the sight of the woman who had been like a mother figure in her life. "Where have you been? Why did you leave me? Why did you abandon me? You told me you would always be there for me, but you weren't."
"Shush, shush, Naomi," Gaia rushed to her and cradled her head, wiping away her tears. "I may have left your father's house but I didn't leave you, I never left your side. You just never noticed me. Naomi, your mother entrusted your care to me and the last thing I would want is to let her daughter suffer."
"But I have been suffering, Aunt Gaia, I have and I spent so many years thinking that you didn't love me, that you got tired of me and left."
"Oh Naomi, what is there not to love my dear?" Gaia tucked a tendril of Naomi's hair behind her ear, "you are everything to me, you mean the world to me. I left because my presence would have exposed you and so I could only protect you from afar. But things have changed now, you have grown up. My hiding spells can not protect you anymore, it's time to know of your origin, Naomi. It's time for you to learn how to protect yourself."
Although Naomi had already known some, she still didn't refute, after all, Irene didn't know a lot of things and only her aunt can tell her. She glanced around them, "we have to wait for me to get out of here then."
"Oh please," Gaia chuckled, "I came in, did I not?" She untied Naomi's hands and offering her hand to her which Naomi took, she helped her up. "I will protect you now." She turned and started creating a portal, Naomi knows of that because Irene had done it in front of her as well. When the portal was created, Gaia took her hand and stepped through the portal but just as Naomi was about to cross, she heard a commotion and turned sharply. Gaia panicked and urged, "come on, Naomi."
"What's happening?" she asked, staring at the dungeon door. She could hear women screaming and it made her worry.
"It's none of our business, Naomi, we have to go."
"But..."
"Noami, we have to go. Come."
Seeing the urgency in her eyes, Naomi nodded and stepped into the portal and as soon as she did, it frizzled away.
