Chapter 435
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 435
After treating the burn on Rachelâs leg, David looked at Rachel purposefully. âWhat are you trying to
do?â Rachel became nervous when she met his deep gaze.
David looked down at her with playful and longing eyes. He placed Rachel on the bed and wrapped his
arms around her waist, enveloping her in his arms. He pecked gently at Rachelâs ear with his lips and
whispered in his low and attractive. voice, âI want to sleep with my girlfriend.â
Rachel did not know what to say.
âWhat else do you think I want to do?â David said playfully. His tone was affectionate, like a gentle
feather tickling Rachelâs heart, and her body went weak. She could sense the tranquility in Davidâs aura
and felt inexplicably at ease. She took a deep breath to calm her emotions and said calmly, âHow would
I know?â David wrapped her in his arms and caressed her back with his warm palm. He lowered his
voice and said softly, âLetâs sleep.â
He caressed her back gently and slowly, coaxing her to sleep like a child.
A smile appeared at the corner of Rachelâs eyes. Suddenly, she felt like teasing him. She stretched out
his finger and gently poked Davidâs Adamâs apple.
âNot sleepy?â David looked down at her with a hint of playfulness in his eyes. Rachel did not say
anything. Instead, she slowly closed her eyes.
As David listened to Rachelâs rhythmic and light breathing, he rose slowly and lifted the blanket. He
then got up from the bed.
After he walked out of the bedroom, he took out his phone and called Jimmy.
Jimmy was probably busy investigating the matter. The phone rang for a long while before it was finally
picked up.
The night air outside the window was as thick as ink. A gust of wind blew a fallen leaf off the ground.
The leaf swayed in the wind and landed in the pond.
âDid you find out anything?â
âThe surrounding surveillance cameras have been wiped clean. There are no useful clues.â Jimmy said
and paused. âBut I found something interesting.â
David retracted his gaze. His dark eyes were as icy as a cold lake. âWhat?â
âHell was not hopping from place to place as we had thought. He has been in
Seaxas all this while.â
Davidâs eyes narrowed slightly. The expression in his eyes turned icy, and maliciousness formed in the
depths of his eyes. âAre there any valuable clues?â
âYou know him best. Heâs cun ning like a fox and sly as a wolf. No one knows his true intentions.â
Jimmy lit a cigarette and drew a deep puff. âBut I found out that he met someone.â
Although Jimmy did not want to tell David everything, he did not have the guts to do so.
He paused and revealed to David everything that he had found out. âItâs Darcy. Rachelâs acquaintance.â
David knew who Darcy was.
He remembered it was Darcy who delivered the crown that Rachel auctioned for.
However, as Darcyâs true motives were unknown and David did not want to alert him, he decided not to
act against him yet.
From the looks of it now, it seemed like danger had been lurking around Rachel.
David tapped his finger lightly against the phone. âDid you arrest him?â
âNo.â Jimmy replied, âAfter all, he is an acquaintance of Rachelâs. Rachel even entrusted him with
handling the proceeds from the auction. That goes to show how important he is to Rachel.â
How would he dare to arrest such a person hastily?
Davidâs expressions were hard to read. âContinue to send people to follow him and see what he wants!â
