Chapter 488
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 488
A waiter bumped into them as they were walking across the lawn.
With a quick reaction, Rachel grabbed Maryâs arm and dodged. However, she accidentally hit the
corner of the nearby table.
They heard the voice of clothes tearing with a low cry and then an angry shout, âDid you do it on
purpose? Do you know how expensive my dress is?â
In the years when Rachel did not participate in the Chamber of Commerce, Hannah had been the
center of attention.
Now, Rachelâs appearance had easily stolen her limelight..
In particular, she had just publicly flirted with David in the restaurant.
That was David Jones!
He was a man that many women wanted but could not get.
Hannah thought that she was not inferior to Rachel in terms of looks. But David had embarrassed her
in public. She blamed all her unwillingness and jealousy on Rachel.
Hannah believed that if it had not been for Rachel, she would have been the one to be with David
today.
However, not only did Rachel steal the limelight from Hannah, but she also became an obstacle to her
becoming Mrs. Jones!
Rachel did not have many feelings for Hannah, especially when she saw the tear on her dress. A faint
sneer flashed in the depths of her big eyes.
However, with the attitude of minimizing the matter, she said indifferently, âIâm sorry.â
Hannah was instantly enraged at Rachelâs attitude. She glared at her and said, âRachel, you are the
one who bumped into me and ruined my dress. Now, youâre acting like this. Do you think youâre being
reasonable?â
Hannah clearly wanted to get to the bottom of the matter, but Rachel did not have much patience. She
glanced at her indifferently with a frown. âThen what do you want?â she asked.
Upon hearing Rachel, Hannah could not help but raise her chin slightly and look at her arrogantly.
âNaturally, I will give you a taste of your own medicine.â
Rachel caught the meaning of her words, and her eyes curled into a faint sarcasm. Before she could
speak, Mary said first. âYour dress is from Simon Smith, the Paris designer. Although itâs couture, itâs
from last yearâs style.â
Mary looked at Hannah mockingly. âAnd Rae-Raeâs clothes are custom-made by
top-tierâs luxury brands. Her outfit costs more than a million dollars. Iâm afraid youâll have to pay more
even if you destroy this set of clothes.â
The people around them couldnât help but exclaim, âWhat? Such a lousy suit actually costs more than a
million dollars?â
âIâve heard that their family only accepts haute couture. And if one wants to be their customer, one has
to undergo an asset evaluation.â
Hannahâs face became pale as she heard the whispers behind her.
Initially, she thought it was just a simple suit and didnât expect it to be so valuable!
Staring at the suit Rachel was wearing, Hannahâs eyes slowly brimming with venom like a snake
spitting its tongue. âItâs a waste to ruin such expensive clothes,â she said. âWhy donât you take the
clothes off and let me wear them, Miss Grey?â
âAre you sure?â Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly, and a faint, cold smile appeared on her red lips.
Hannah put on a lofty attitude and looked at Rachel arrogantly. âWhat? Miss Grey, are you unwilling?â
Her voice was neither loud nor soft, attracting the attention of the young socialites and the wealthy
young men nearby.
Including Katy.
Glancing at Rachel, Katy whispered to Luciane, who was a branch member of the Page family, âWhatâs
going on?â
Luciane had been respectful to Katy and had also befriended Hannah in private. Naturally, her words
were biased in favor of Hannah. â It is all because of Miss Grey of the Johnson family. She is
domineering. Itâs clear that she was at fault at first, but she didnât show any sincerity when she
apologized. In turn, she even belittled that Hannahâs dress was not good as hers.â
