Chapter 132

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

? ? ? ? ?

Mitchel pressed his hand against Raegan's bleeding wound and, with a fury that seemed almost lethal, he growled, "Why don't you tell me?"

Despite her outburst, Raegan remained stoic and expressionless. Then, he gave her a smile that contained no warmth and snapped, "The pain is nothing compared to being with you."

Mitchel's hand on his wound trembled with uncontrollable emotion, and his complexion turned deathly pale. It was as if he himself had been stabbed several times by a dagger.

She never expected Raegan to hurt herself just to divorce him.

Mitchel raised his eyes and fixed them on her.

Raegan, are you forcing me to make a decision?

“Only because you pushed me first,” Raegan replied, the corners of her mouth curling into a sneer.

At that moment, the door burst open and a flood of light flooded the room.

A swarm of doctors and nurses descended on Raegan and began treating his wound.

Raegan's spleen surgery was evident in the suturing of the upper left part of her abdomen. It had opened, revealing a hideous mixture of blood and flesh.

However, Raegan did not cooperate with the doctors.

He extended his blood-stained hand toward Mitchel and ordered in a repulsed voice, "Take him out."

The doctor who treated her, a middle-aged woman, looked at Raegan, who reminded her of a shattered porcelain doll, and spoke urgently to Mitchel: "Sir, you have to go now!"

His request was practical. It was about clearing the room for treatment.

However, his voice had a hint of contempt.

Raegan's recent experience had been grueling: a miscarriage, a ruptured spleen, and a head injury. It had been a battle for the rescue team to stabilize her.

The patient's recent altercation with this man must have been the reason her wound had reopened.

Despite Mitchel's good looks, he seemed to lack empathy.

As the doctor administered painkillers and began suturing the wound, he couldn't help but advise Raegan: “Young lady, your body belongs only to yourself. Don't hurt yourself for anything or anyone unworthy. You will only leave your family heartbroken..."

To your family? Raegan was in excruciating pain right now. But upon hearing the doctor's words, a deeper pain took hold of her and she began to cry.

His grandmother, his only family, had died.

The baby she was carrying should be her new family, but that was also a lost dream...

He no longer had family in this world.

To help her rest, the doctor prescribed a sleeping pill. Finally, after crying for a while, Raegan succumbed to sleep.

Mitchel, for his part, had been waiting outside the room the entire time. He was a neat freak to a fault, but he ignored the blood staining his clothes.

His gaze remained glued to the living room door, without blinking.

When the doctor who was treating her came out, Mitchel approached her and asked her with apparent concern: "How are you?"

"He's stable now," the doctor responded, her voice firm and professional.

«But the patient has gone through a major ordeal.

You should be more patient with her. Do not stimulate her further. In that case, your recovery will be smoother and easier.

The doctor's advice seemed to sap Mitchel's strength.

She realized that she was the last person Raegan wanted to see right now.

In the days that followed, Mitchel stayed away from the courtroom.

Still, he made sure Raegan's care was constant. He arranged for four nurses, working in shifts, to care for her twenty-four hours a day.

These nurses did more than just care for her. They kept a close eye on Raegan and informed Mitchel of everything from her fluid intake to her eating habits.

In his office, Mitchel stared at a photograph of Raegan's face while she slept, secretly taken by one of the nurses. She seemed so serene.

A pang of bitterness washed over him as he realized that perhaps he would never look like that with him.

When Matteo entered, he found Mitchel near the window. Mitchel looked exhausted and lonely, and Matteo's heart sank at the sight.

Mitchel, without turning, asked: "How did the investigation go?"

"The kidnappers' escape went awry," Matteo responded.

«His vehicle fell into a ravine and the car exploded. There were no survivors.

"We are still investigating whether the target was the Murray family or Miss Murray herself."

With the kidnappers dead, the investigation had reached a dead end.

"Anything else?" Mitchel inquired with a cold, expressionless face.

"Miss Lloyd's whereabouts remain unknown, but we have located two kidnappers who were linked to the kidnapping of her wife. Do you want to see them?

A flash of malice crossed Mitchel's expression and he ordered, "Prepare it right now."

In the gloom of a suburban underground garage, the heavy iron door groaned open, releasing a wave of stale air.

Matteo coughed against the stench. He walked forward and saw that the two homeless people, with their faces covered by hoods, had become dirty from fright.

With a grimace, Matteo pulled their hoods down further, making sure they didn't see anything.

The only sound for those two wanderers was the echo of approaching footsteps. They bowed repeatedly and begged, “Lord, please let us go.

We are just poor and homeless. Why are we here?

Bang! A sudden, violent crack cut through the air.

The homeless people's knees were mercilessly smashed by bodyguards with baseball bats.

«Ah! Why did you do that?

The horrific crunch of bones reverberated off the walls, along with screams of agony.

Mitchel approached and asked coldly, "Do you understand why you are here?"

Seized with terror and desperate to avoid another blow, the fat homeless man blurted out: "Is it because of the job we accepted a few days ago?"

Mitchel's silence confirmed his fears, prompting him to spill the truth.

"A few days ago we kidnapped a young woman in the hospital's underground parking lot."

A dark cloud passed over Mitchel's face. Then, with a deep and dangerous voice, he demanded: “Tell me what happened that day. Don't leave anything in the pipeline.

“Okay, okay!” The fat homeless man nodded his head vigorously.

«But don't hit me again. I'll tell you everything."

"Me too! I'll tell you everything," echoes his thin companion.

In their haste, they stumbled over words when recounting what happened.

“A ruthless woman hired us for the job,” added the fat homeless man.

«She wanted us to fuck the lady and even asked us to spank her. But we didn't know that the one we kidnapped was pregnant. If we had known..."

A sharp click interrupted him.

This time, the arms of these two homeless people took the brunt of it.

«Ah! Enough!"

They screamed and writhed in pain. His arms were grotesquely deformed and hung uselessly.

"I said don't skimp on details!" Mitchel bellowed. His deep voice sounded like that of the devil from the depths of hell.

Panicked, the fat homeless man stammered: "I hit her many times, I tore her clothes..."

“I used my belt to hit her, I kicked her…” the thin homeless man also admitted. His voice wavered, each word weaker than the last. The more he talked, the less brave he became.

Mitchel's expression turned into a mask of ice. Then, he ordered: "Before you hand them over to the police, make sure they are no longer a threat to anyone."

The wanderers' eyes widened in terror at his words.

Soon after, their screams and cries filled the air, reverberating off the cold walls, as the bodyguards carried out Mitchel's somber order.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Nicole made a habit of visiting Raegan every day. He shooed the nurses away to chat with Raegan.

The nurses didn't complain. After all, Mitchel had ordered them to take good care of Raegan. Since Nicole was good friends with Raegan, they didn't want to make things difficult for her.

Not long after Nicole left, the living room door creaked again.

Lauren, in a wheelchair, slowly approached Raegan's bed. Then he smiled and asked, “Raegan, how are you feeling?”

Raegan frowned in disdain. Not wanting to talk to her, he demanded, “Go away.”

However, Lauren seemed to enjoy the tension. A triumphant smile spread across his face.

«Why are you so upset? I already heard the bastard. He paused and pretended to cough.

"I heard you had an abortion, so I came to see if you're okay."

Raegan stepped back, her eyes brimming with pain and fury.
