Chapter 173
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
As Allison walked by the second floor, the banquet hall doors swung open and out came a crowd News reporters were pouring out like a tidal wave, scattering in all directions. It looked like some big shot was being entertained there, perhaps a significant business partnership meeting Allison had to stop in her tracks, the crowd was thick with news reporters.
Then, a man in a suit slowly emerged from the crowd This man was handsome. He seemed to be the center of everyoneâs attention.
Reporters were packed like sardines at the entrance of the hall. They were all hungry for the latest scoop âMr Lindberg, we heard youâre back in town to kick start the Project of Pearl Island for Lindberg Corporation. Any idea when itâll go public?â
âMr. Lindberg, youâve turned down Mr. Oscar twice before. Why did you decide to collaborate with him now?â
âMr. Lindbergâ
A female reporter got shoved out of the crowd, clutching her mic and camera, clearly ticked off about missing out on the juicy details.
Suddenly her eyes landed on a young woman standing at the top of the staircase. Using her sharp reporter instincts and impressive memory, she quickly pointed her camera at her âMs. Flanagan, we heard youâre three months pregnant. Do you know when your wedding with Mr. Lindberg will take place?â
Suddenly, the whole scene went dead silent for two seconds.
Then, like sharks smelling blood, the other reporters rapidly swarmed Allison. âMs. Flanagan, were you waiting here for Mr. Lindberg? You two must be madly in loveâ
âMs Flanagan, your engagement party with Mr. Lindberg was quite the spectacle. Your wedding is bound to be even grander, right?â
Allison was taken aback. She was just passing by, and yet she had been mistaken for Penelope by a horde of reportersâ¦
At that moment, all she could see were cameras and microphones.
Flashes sparkling.
Allison was wearing a Chanel suit, with makeup on and sunglasses. She looked every bit the heiress, a far cry from the usual Allison, She quickly composed herself and looked at Lucian.
He steadily approached her, the reporters quickly parting to make way. Lucian reached Allison, taking her fingers into his, and commented to the reporter, âAbout the wedding. I will respect her wishes.â
Allison quickly caught on and smiled calmly at the crowd as Lucian made another comment to the reporters, âWe want to enjoy our relationship for a bit longer, thereâs no rush to get married. But rest assured, when the wedding happens, we will definitely invite all media outlets.â
Their hands were tightly clasped as they stood before the cameras.
âMr. Lindberg and Ms. Flanagan are so in love.â
âWishing Mr. Lindberg and Ms Flanagan all the bestâ¦â
Allison kept her cool, but inside she was a bundle of nerves as she followed Lucian off the cruise ship.
She hadnât anticipated such a misunderstanding Lucianâs Bentley was parked not far away. Allison hesitated, quickly sent a message to Cliff, then hurried over and got into the car.
The atmosphere in the car was cold and stern.
Lucian was working on his laptop on a small table in front of him while the car moved smoothly. Ten minutes later, he massaged his forehead and said, âWhat are you doing here?â
Allisonâs heart skipped a beat.
She tightly clasped her hands.
She wasnât sure if the âyouâ he referred to was Penelope or herself.
Did he figure it out?
He couldnât have But why did his tone sound so cold?
âI came with a friend to attend Jewelâs birthday party on the third floor. My friend knows Jewel, and since I had some free time today, I decided to tag alongâ
Lucian asked, âWhoâs Jewell?â
