Chapter 256
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Allison slipped into her new outfit and stepped into the set box.
She was dressed in Penelopeâs long white gown, made up, and stuffed with props to mimic a pregnant belly. Although it was just a white gown, her skin was so delicate that it shone brighter than the dress.
Gavin explained the script to her.
The script was about a pregnant woman named Deila, played by Penelope, who was accused of plagiarism and fired by her company. She came here to appeal to Faith, who was played by Leila and the CEO of the company, hoping that she could get her job back.
Although they were sisters, their circumstances were worlds apart.
Gavin meticulously explained the script to Allison.
Allison nodded her understanding. She didnât know much about acting in TV series, and this was her first performance, but all she had to do was stand in for Penelope in a few shots.
Although her face wasnât visible in the shots, she spent her time waiting for Leila to prepare About fifteen minutes later, Leila walked over.
Although Allison wasnât a star chaser, she did watch some TV series. Leila was now a second-tier star in the entertainment circle, usually taking on some low-budget TV dramas. She shot to fame earlier this year because of a low-budget period drama, and now she was in Melody of Delight, a modem drama.
She played the female lead, Faith, the CEO of a fashion company. The male lead was played by popular idol Aaron, and this was the highest-budget production Leila had been involved in.
Leila, carrying an LV bag and dressed in a simple and elegant outfit, had a perfect figure. Gavin said, âLeila, get ready. Weâre about to start shooting.â
Leila handed her bag to her assistant and took off her sunglasses to glance at Allison, âYou really look alike.â
She didnât think much of it, assuming that Allison was a stand in Penelope had found to avoid working too hard. She wanted to get into the entertainment industry, but not want to take a slap.
Allison didnât really need to look at the camera, it was all focused on Leila.
âSmack-âLeila quickly got into character and slapped Allison, âIâll never forget who caused my motherâs death. Youâre carrying Thomasâs child, you shamelessly slept with my ex-boyfriend, and now youâre plagiarizing and ruining the companyâs reputation. You want me to keep you in the company? Do you know how much bad press the company has gotten because of your plagiarized designs? I donât want you to influence our overseas runway shows.â The camera focused on Allisonâs cheek, the director found the right angle, not showing Allisonâs face, but showing the audience what they wanted to see. In the script, Deila was a woman who seemed kind on the surface. She was the result of a drunken night between Rocky and her low-born mother. After Faithâs mother died, Rocky brought Deilaâs mother home. Deila was always jealous of Faith, so she seduced Faithâs boyfriend Thomas. After Thomas and Faith broke up, he and Deila got together, and Deila became pregnant.
Allison took a couple of steps back at this point, pretending to be pushed by Faith. She protected her belly, and the camera switched to her hands on her belly. âAh, how could you push me?â
Leila responded, âYou fell on your own, now you want to blame me? Deila, there are cameras here!â
A few lines of dialogue and a few shots were done.
After Allison finished her work, Gavin nodded in approval, âGood job.â These few shots were eventually saved. If all were cut, the audience would feel it was too abrupt.
âAllison, come and take a few single shots. Penelope has two scenes to shoot tomorrow, Iâm afraid sheâll be angry. You go ahead and fill in, the completed shots can be edited in.
