Chapter 271
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
âGrace, I found you a spacious place to live, and I even arranged for a better doctor to check you out.
Whatever I owe you, Iâll repay youâ Christopher said. Maybe that could give him some peace.
âNo need, I donât wanna see you guys ever againâ Grace said.
Christopher wanted to say more, âGrace, is Allison oursâ¦â
Grace didnât answer his question. She just stared straight at Christopher, then she called out, âAllison.â
Allison pushed the door open, glanced at Christopher, and then walked up to her mother. She led her mother away.
After Allison and Grace left, Christopher sighed softly. His assistant walked in, âMr. Flanagan,â
âNash, Iâve been in quite a mess these past few yearsâ Christopher said.
Nash of course knew about it. Christopher had been in pain ever since Joshua and Rickyâs car accident.
Christopher seemed to age even more. He initially thought that seeing Grace and having a chat would soothe his heart a bit.
He knew that Grace had always held a grudge against him. After he graduated from college, he wanted to start a business. Leahâs family was pretty wellâoff, and she always supported him.
Little by little, he developed selfish desires. He liked Grace, but then a girl who looked a bit like Grace and came from a wealthier family appeared. Naturally, his heart leaned towards her.
He broke up with Grace and got together with Leah. But he didnât know at the time that Grace and Leah were distant relatives.
On his wedding to Leah, Grace was also there. He never wanted to recall that scene again.
After his marriage, he couldnât forget about Grace. Even though Leah and Grace looked alike, their personalities were different. He liked the innocent and kindâhearted Grace.
Up until now, he had lived half of his life. There were three things he dared not recall.
First, the way Grace looked at him at his wedding to Leah.
Second, the day before Grace married Joshua, she came to find him. Her eyes seemed to say that if he said no, she could call off the wedding. But he lowered his head.
Third, Joshua and Ricky died for him.
He felt guilty towards her, but a man couldnât be controlled by a woman. He was also weak. He relied on Leahâs family to start a business and made money Allison took Grace to the hospital for a checkâup, todayâs doctor was Dr. Dylan, She walked into the consulting room with the registration form, and was taken aback.
Dr. Dylan looked up and pushed his glasses up. The sunlight came in from the window behind him, making his clothes shine.
Grace said, âDr. Dylan, are you on shift today?â
Dr. Dylan stood up. âSit down, have you been feeling unwell recently?â
Iâm actually fine. Itâs just that Allison is not at ease and insists on bringing me for a checkâup. I donât want to. Itâs gonna cost a fortune.â Grace said.
Dr. Dylan wrote a few tests, then handed them to Allison, âGo to the second floor for blood and urine tests first. There should be no wait time now. Some ultrasound tests might require waiting. Check the results with me in the afternoon. Your mom doesnât need to come. Sheâll be better off resting at home.â
Grace smiled, âThank you, Dr. Dylan.â
Allison also said softly. âThank you.â
Dr. Dylan clenched his fist, âNo worries.â
As Allison helped Grace out of the consultation room, Dr. Dylan took a few steps forward, âAllison.â
Allison stopped.
Dr. Dylan asked, âI was at a party with friends last night, and you didnât show up. You also didnât pick up my calls.â
Allison smiled, âThere were too many people, I forgot to check my phone. You were in the private room, you could just ask the waiter if you needed anythingâ
Dr. Dylanâs voice was a bit low, âDidnât you say I could get a discount if I contact you?â
Allison was stunned, âAh, yes, sorry I was too busy and forgot. Next time After that, she helped Grace to leave.
Dr. Dylan was a bit down.
