Chapter 310
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
A phone from a well-known domestic brand.
Grace came out with a bowl of soup and put it on the table. She glanced at Allison, then at her phone, and then sheepishly picked it up, âI was just scrolling through some TV shows and accidentally clicked on an ad.â
Allison was eating dumplings. âMom, I think thatâs Penelope in the ad.â
âIt should be⦠should be Ms. Flanagan,â Grace lowered her head, âMs. Flanagan seems to have entered the entertainment industryâ
âRight, I was on set a few days ago⦠Allison pursed her lips, âI went to be her stand-in for a few scenes.
After all, it was a way to earn money.
âSo you saw Ms. Flanagan.â
1 did.â
A hint of concern flashed in Graceâs eyes, âHowâs her leg?â
Allison was taken aback. She frowned at Grace, studying her face. Grace avoided her gaze. âWhatâs up. Allie, why are you staring at me like that?â
âMom.â Allison looked serious, âHow did you know Penelope hurt her foot?â
1⦠I saw it on my phone.â With the internet so developed, you can find any news on your phone.
Allison didnât doubt Graceâs words. After all, Penelope was filming with Leila, Gunner, and Aaron, who all had a lot of fans and lots of photos taken on set. It was easy to find out about Penelopeâs ankle injury.
âMom, what does this have to do with us? This is no longer the Flanagan familyâs home, itâs ours. We donât need to rely on others.â
Allison knew Grace was soft-hearted. Grace had always been good to Penelope since they were kids.
When Penelope broke her toys and blamed Allison, Grace would always apologize. She would make nutritious food for Penelope every day. When Penelope broke her arm as a kid, Grace took good care of her.
Allison always felt that Grace was too subservient. She was like a maid for the Flanagan family.
âAllie, we lived in the Flanagan familyâs house for a long time after all, and Penelope. âGrace looked at Allisons expression, âI watched her grow upâ
Allison didnât want to explain too much to her mother, âMom, weâve already left the Flanagan family.
Weâll have our own lives in the future. The Flanagan familyâs business has nothing to do with us. Did Penelope and Leah ever treat us like human beings? Do you remember how Leah and Penelope treated you? Mom, you almost died at Mercy Grove Hospital!â
Grace urgently said, âPenelope had nothing to do with it. It was Leah who did it. Penelope is innocentâ
Allison looked at Graceâs expression, her fingers tightly clutching the fork. She stared at Graceâs face, looking at her motherâs thin face. Her voice was calm but firm, âMom, Penelope is the Flanagan familyâs lady. She doesnât need you to worry about her.â
She thought her mother was really strange. Her concern for Penelope, it was like Penelope was her daughter.
The thought flashed through her mind.
Grace seemed to notice what Allison was thinking and quickly said, âI was just saying. Of course wonât care about the Flanagan familyâs lady. Iâm going to live a good life with you.â
Hearing Grace say this, Allison said, âOkay, Mom, youâre tired, go rest. Iâll go to bed after I finish eatingâ
Grace stood up, worried that sheâd revealed too much in front of Allison. But seeing Allison didnât seem to think too much, she went back to the bedroom.
Allison finished her dumplings and went back to her bedroom. She lay in bed, and closed her eyes. But in her mind, she thought about the DNA test she and Grace took. Their blood types didnât match.
She originally thought that the testing center got the report wrong, but tonight, Graceâs reaction to the news of Penelopeâs injury was too strange That unconscious, instinctive concern. It came from deep within. It was impossible to hide.
Even if Grace used to be a maid for the Flanagan family and watched Penelope grow up, was this the kind of concern a maid should have for her employer?
