Chapter 490
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Daisy was startled. Suddenly, her drowsiness disappeared completely. âWhat did you say?â She asked with a trembling voice. She stared at the unfamiliar phone number.
A clear male voice came from the other end of the line, seemingly shattering her heart in an instant.
âRemember my name, Wilton.â The man said, and then hung up. Daisy sát in a daze, looking at her phone. Was that Wilton? What did he say?
It took a moment to sink in. He said if anything happened to his brother, she would pay with her life.
What happened to Frances? Wasnât he fine last night?
Daisyâs mind was in a whirl. How was this related to her? She got out of bed and quickly got dressed.
But it was already past midnight. She couldnât possibly go to the Boswell family now. Sitting on the edge of the bed, her mind was in turmoil, and she couldnât fall asleep even into the late hours of the night.
The next morning, Daisy had breakfast and quickly rushed out the door. Rosie called after her, âWhereâs the fire?â
Daisy didnât answer, just grabbed her bag and ran out. She didnât have a driverâs license, and couldnât drive. The driver was going to take Mr. Wyatt to the company later, so Daisy hailed a cab.
She rushed to the Boswell familyâs place.
At that moment, Frances was still in the hospital. Mina was in the flower room, trimming branches. Ava said, âMr. Wilton came at dawn and took Mr. Frances to the hospital.â
Mina didnât react, as if she had already guessed. âHow is he?â
Ava replied, âDr. Jade said heâs fine, but needs to stay in the hospital for a few days. But considering Mr. Francesâs physical condition, even the allergic reaction caused by a small amount of mango would be a significant blow to his health.â
Mina finished trimming a bouquet of roses, removed the withered petals, and placed it in a beautiful vase of water, âHow lucky he ended up alive.â
She had a faint smile on her face, but her eyes were devoid of joy. âCould you go to the hospital and check on him for me? Itâll also prevent others from saying that Iâm neglecting him.â
Ava nodded, âYouâre right.â
I The temperature in the flower room was comfortable, but Mina seemed to feel hot. She handed the scissors to a servant, instructing, âCarefully arrange the flowers. These are roses air-shipped from New Zealand, Ms. Mina likes them. Put a few in a vase on her drawing desk.â
âYes,â the servant replied.
Mina went to the terrace to paint. She painted beautifully, as she had been practicing since she was a child. When she was poor and couldnât afford a teacher, she would secretly learn from tutors and practice with water on the ground.
After ten minutes, Ava came over, âMs. Mina, Ms. Daisy is here.â
Mina lifted her brush, âLet her come here.â
Daisy quickly walked over and asked, âMs. Mina, how is Mr. Frances now?â
Mina replied, âYou know about it too?â This surprised Mina a little, because she hadnât told Daisy about Francesâ hospitalization. How did Daisy know about it?
But all of this was within Minaâs expectations, as if everything was under her control.
Daisy hesitated, âIâ¦â She didnât know how to respond.
Mina was a beautiful and charming woman, but her charm was not soft, but rather like a sharp ice blade. It didnât hurt, but it made people feel oppressed and restrained. And now, under Minaâs gaze, Daisy didnât want to betray Wilton.
