Chapter 23 - Christmas Night

"Alex what are you doing right now?" I asked him via call while i was alone in my apartment.

"Working?" He said.

"This is your last day of working before Christmas right?" I asked him.

"Yes" he said.

"Great I'll be there at 3" i said to him.

"Where?" He asked me.

"Of course to your office" i said.

"You don't really come here except i told you to" he said.

"I just want you to accompany me to buy some gifts" i said to him.

"To who?" He asked me.

"You" i said.

"Of course not dumb ass, for Kelsie and her family" i said.

"Can you just do it alone?" He asked me then i frowned.

"Well.., okay" i said.

"Are you mad?" He asked me.

"No.., not really" i said.

"I'll see you at the gift shop, i have some work to do" he said.

"At 4pm" he said.

"Okay I'll text you later" i said then ended up the phone call.

He never changed, he always can be that cold and always put work over everything. He didn't even celebrate Christmas so what was he doing in Christmas morning for the last 4 years?

I had been walking around the mall for an hour looking for the best gift for Kelsie, Noah and her husband Charlie. I had bought a shoes and a shirt for Charlie, a make up set for Kelsie and i was still looking for the gifts for Noah and Kelsie. I felt like when i got more successful i should give people more.

I was walking alone looking through the store windows until my phone was suddenly rang, it was kinda funny though cause it kinda surprised me.

"I'm here where are you?" He asked me.

"I'm in front of the Kenzo store" i said to him.

"I'm close to that store wait there" he said then hung up.

Well he really came and I felt sorry he must be felt tired, i just wanted to bring back Christmas vibes to him. He couldn't be that cold forever he should feel happy and be not so serious about it.

I saw him walking towards me, he took his outer off while still wearing a black shirt and a formal shoes. He looked like a dad, i laughed at my own thoughts.

"What?" He asked me.

"You look like my dad" i said.

"I don't want to look like your dad" he said.

"You should cut those beards, you look younger without it" i said.

"Okay whatever lets buy what you want" he said before we started to walk.

"Next store is the toy shop" i said to him then he just stayed in a silent then follow me.

We got into the toy shop where there were so many kids running around and i could see a worried in his eyes which was funny. I laughed at him but then he just fake smiling, he must be tired.

"What should i buy for Noah?" I asked him.

"I don't know" he coldly said.

"What did you want when you were 7 Alex?" I asked him.

"I forgot" he said.

"How about Nerf Gun? With a remote control car? Or kids now a days love Xbox? But Will Kelsie be mad at me for buying him an electronic games?" I asked him.

"Play station is always fun" he said.

"Really? Okay I'll buy him that" i said to him.

"But i think he's too young" he said.

"No he's not i think his thoughts sometimes can be more mature than yours" i said before turning around to buy a play station for my Noah.

"Do you have a play station at home?" I asked him then he nodded.

"Can i play?" I asked him.

"Can you?" He looked down at me cause he was taller than me.

"I'll figure it out" i said.

After buying all of the stuff we got back into his house this time and we just arrived, his men helping us with our gifts. I was so excited to get into his house cause i had a surprise for him, i let him to walk in first then he looked surprised.

"What have you done?" He asked me.

"I bought you your very own Christmas tree?" I asked him.

"Are you trying to bringing Christmas back for me?" He asked me.

"Kinda" i said.

"Well of course not I don't celebrate it" he said then I frowned.

"Why?" I asked him.

"Cause I don't really have nobody to spend with, even Glenn having a day off that day" he said.

"You have me?" I asked him.

"You're spending Christmas with Kelsie aren't you?" He asked me.

"Not this year" i smiled then i could see a confusion in his eyes.

"Please Alex" i said.

"Okay.., fine" he said.

"Yay!" I said.

"Then I'll stay here for a couple days until Christmas is over" i said to him.

"I'm going to change" he said.

"Great we're going to decorate the trees tonight" i said.

"Whatever you want bell" he said before walking away from me.

I just want to make everyone around me happy Alex..,

"So you're staying?" His voice suddenly appeared in the living room while i was busy wrapping all the gifts that I bought for Kelsie's family.

"Oh you finally decide to walk out" i said while wrapping the gift on the floor in the living room.

"It's a lot of gifts" he said while looking down at me.

"Yeah don't you wanna help?" I asked him then he took of his slippers before joined me to seat on the floor.

"These have to be done tonight" i said.

"It'll be done in a few minutes" he said.

"Yea it only couple of them left, then i'm going to send it to Kelsie's house" i said.

"We can ask Glenn before he goes home" he said.

"That's very kind of him" i said then he just stayed in a silent.

After a few minutes it was finally done, Alex was wrapping the last gifts while i was writing on the gift car. I put my name and Alex on it cause he had been helping me that day,

"It's ready to go" he said then i slipped the card into one of the paper bag for Kelsie's family.

Alex told Glenn to drop all of the gift to Kelsie's house before Glenn left for a day off, I actually felt sorry that glenn had to be busy a day before Christmas. Well Alex was also still had a work to do a day before Christmas, maybe he was just a workaholic guy.

I just got home a couple days ago from Europe cause i had my last job before Christmas there, but then i was going to spend Christmas this year with Alexander Adams.

"I'm going to order a food cause the chef is on their day off too" he said.

"I've ordered our dinner" i said.

"What?" He asked me.

"It's in the kitchen" i said.

"Great" he said.

"Lets have a dinner then" he said then i smiled, i followed him into the kitchen then began to eat our dinner together.

He poured a red wine to our glasses as we enjoyed our so called Christmas dinner, it was kinda cold but also giving a chill vibes. His house was so quite and it was just the two of us in the house.

"So have you tell your family that you're not coming home?" He asked me while we were eating.

"No I didn't" i said.

"You should" he said.

"They know I'm not coming" i said.

"But at least you can always call them to wish them merry Christmas" he said.

"Will you do that too?" I asked him.

"I didn't celebrate Christmas but that doesn't mean I didn't wish them merry Christmas bell" he said.

"What a sweet boy you are" i said.

"No I'm not" he said.

"Whatever happened both of them are still your parents" he said.

"I'll call them tomorrow" i said.

"Great" he said.

"So what are we going to do after this?" He asked me then it finally made me looked up at him then smile brightly.

I felt so happy that he was finally asking me what to do,

"Decorating the trees and putting the socks" i said then he smiled.

We washed the dishes together then started to open the box of Christmas trees decorations which I bought earlier before he came at the mall.

He was trying to open the box while i turned on the music through the speaker, so the house  wasn't felt so quite when the music began to play. He smiled at me when i played the Christmas song, a piece of his brown hair fell at the front of his forehead when he looked up at me.

"Have you heard this song before?" I asked him then he nodded.

"It's Ariana grande" he said while taking out the decorations one by one.

"That's very cool of you to know that mister" i said.

"Lets just decorate it" he said.

After he said that i heard the door bell was ringing which made me had to open up the door cause there were only us there. I opened the door then saw Kelsie and her family right in front of the front porch.

"Oh my god!" I got surprised.

"Hey Bella!" Noah said before walked in then Kelsie hugged me followed by Charlie.

"Hey Kels What are you doing here?" I asked her.

"Welcome to my house" Alex suddenly said from behind me.

"I, i invited them" he said then i turned around to look at him confusedly.

"Yeah Alex invited us to join you guys here" Kelsie said.

"And offered us to have a night here until tomorrow morning" Charlie said.

"Christmas morning?" I asked them and still felt confused and didn't believe that Alex really invited them.

"Yeah!" Kelsie said before Alex told them to walk in, while i still froze at my own two feet thinking how can he just gave me a surprise.

Once Kelsie and her family got into the living room, Alex closed the lobby door in front of me  before looking at my face.

"Merry Christmas bell" he said then he walked away from me.

Well he can be that sweet.

"What are you guys doing?" Charlie asked while Noah started to play with the decorations.

"We're decorating the Christmas tree" i said.

"Do you guys need a drink?" I asked them.

"Thank you maybe later" Kelsie said.

"Let's decorate the Christmas tree shall we?" Charlie said.

"Let's go!" Noah said.

"Wait wait wait" i said before playing the music back through the speaker.

We began to decorating the big Christmas tree while Kelsie hang the socks on the top of the fireplace. Noah looked so happy and so was Alex i had never seen him smiling like that, he put the Santa hat on Noah and that made them smile.

Charlie brought a vintage handy cam which he kept filming our activities, we decorated the big trees for a few minutes until Alex held Noah up to put on the stars on the top of the tree. Well Noah loves to put it cause it made him felt special.

"It's all done" Noah said.

"Thanks for helping us Noah" i said.

"No problem" he said.

"Okay it's getting late it's time to go to bad Noah" kelsie said.

"Where's the bedroom?" Noah asked.

"Oh it's at the second floor be careful on the stairs" Alex said.

"Okay I'm going to put him in bed" Kelsie said.

"I'm going to take our suitcases then" Charlie said before leaving Alex and I alone in the living room.

Once they left i looked into the Christmas tree that we just decorated and it looked much better, I sipped on the hot chocolate while looking at it. I was smiling until he stands right next to me to look at it,

"I don't remember how was it felt like when it was Christmas night like this" he said.

"I also don't remember how was it felt like to spend Christmas with my family" i said while holding in a hot chocolate on my hand.

"Do you want to have a movie night?" He asked me then my eyes crawling up into his hazel brown eyes before laughing.

"You asked me for a movie night?" I asked him in disbelief.

"I guess" he said.

"Do you want to?" He asked me.

"Where?" I asked him.

"In my room? It has a bigger tv than here" he said then i smiled.

"What movie are we going to watch?" I asked him.

"I don't know, you can choose" he said.

"How about the princess switch, Vanessa Hudgens she's my favorite since i was a little" i said.

"Whatever you choose" he said.

"Do you want to grab a snack? Maybe a hot milk or cookies?" I asked him then he stayed in a silent.

"Come on it's Christmas night" i said.

"Okay just bring it into my room" he said.

"Okay" i smiled before ready to bring some snacks into his room.

Third Person POV

Kelsie and Charlie was standing next to one another at the second floor while they were watching Bella and Alex who were still looking at the Christmas tree that they just decorated in the living room.

Both of Alex and Bella were talking while smiling, both of them were talking through the Christmas night with a slow music was played around the room. It was a very chill night for both of them where happiness could easily known by the look on their bright faces.

"Kels are they really a fake couple?" Charlie asked his wife.

"Yeah they are" she nodding while both of her eyes were looking at them with a smile on her face.

"I don't think they are showing a fake affection" Charlie smiled before kissed Kelsie on the cheek then left her alone there.

She kept looking at both of them who laughed and smiling that night, Kelsie knew the two of them are a broke young people that has a dark past because of their family then it was their destiny to meet one another just to complete the missing piece in their life.

"God in this magical night, please give them a happy future" Kelsie said under her breath.
