Chapter 35 - Company's Event

We arrived at the building and we walked out of the car when the officer opened up our door, I stepped out of the door then wait for alex to get into next to me. He helped me to step on the stairs cause I was wearing a kinda long dress that night.

There were so many people heading into the ballroom hotel, just like what Alex said it was a huge event just likea new year. So many people came into the company's anniversary and I didn't know them at all.

We got into the ballroom where some of the employees were bowing when they saw Alex walked in while I just smiled since the time I arrived at the building. Alex lead us into a round table that had our names on it,

We sat next to one another while waiting for the event getting started, there were so many people greeted him and he also introduced me to them which I started to get tired to greet them back but, I still had to think about his reputation.

"Bell have you heard about Hamilton land?" He asked me, well, of course, it was one of the most famous successful company in the United States.

"Of course who doesn't," I said.

"There's Apollo Hamilton he's now the head of his family's company" he whispered while we were looking into an attractive tall guy who was wearing grey tuxedo walking next to a beautiful lady who was wearing an elegant black dress walking next to her.

"He's my senior back in college," he said then I nodded while looking at the perfect couple who were looking for their seat.

"That's his girlfriend?" I asked him.

"That's his wife" he sounded annoyed by me not knowing it.

"Oh," I said.

"She's beautiful," I said.

"Have you heard about Val n co?" He asked me then I nodded while sipping on the wine while my eyes were still looking at them like a freaking sociopath.

"His wife is the daughter of the owner but her brother is the one who taking the company over," he said then I raised one of my eyebrows.

"Do you wish if you can be her, so someone else can take over the company?" I asked him before we laughed.

"Kinda, but I heard she's a smart ass too she's a doctor though," Alex said and it blew my mind.

"Beautiful, rich, hot man, a good brain that's it she's living a perfect life" I raised both of my hand and it made Alex laugh.

"What are they doing here?" I asked him.

"Our company has a great relationship with their company so, kinda connected cause they the kind of company that doesn't play dirty you know," he said.

"Ah sounds cool," I said to him.

"Should we say hi to them then?" I asked him.

"Maybe after the show started," he said then I nodded.

After looking at one of his senior my eyes caught Derek walked in alone with a really clean tuxedo and I couldn't feel more uncomfortable when he walked in. Those guilty eyes seemed had a thousand evil plans, and I was trying to have eye contact with him.

"Bellaaa" someone suddenly called me and it was none other than Alex's mom who walked into me to give me a hug.

"Hi Mrs. Adams," I said while hugging her back.

"Ugh stop you can call me Juliet honey," she said then we laughed.

"Or maybe mom" she winked then I laughed more.

She went to Alex then Alex hugged his mother before kissed her on the cheek, I was so happy to see him interacting with his own mom.

"Anyway I haven't wished you a Merry Christmas and happy new year," I said to his mom then she smiled.

"Oh, you" her mom smiled while brushing on my cheek.

"You sweet girl, Merry Christmas and happy new year too hon," she said then I smile which made Alex looked at me then smile.

"Okay babies the show is about to start I should get back to my seat bye-bye," His mom said before walking away.

Just like what she said, the show started opened by the host and next it was his dad's turn to get into the stage to give a little speech. All of the audience inside clapping their hands for him after he had done with his speech.

After that the host called his parents to get into the stage to cut the came in front of everyone in the room,

"But before we cut this cake I want my son Alex and Derek to please join us here on the stage," His dad said and the light suddenly shot him which made him and Derek as the center of the attention.

"What?" He smiled before licking his lips,

"Go" I smiled then he got up from the seat then get onto the stage with Derek, joining them to cut the cake together.

The four of them looked so happy on the stage like they were a really happy family, while I frowned in the inside cause I knew how Alex's feels. Everyone started clapping for them when they were done, Alex got back into me and there was the time where the event successfully opened.

The band started to play on the stage bringing so many cool kinds of music while everyone started to walked around the room to grab on their food, but Alex and I are a VIP so we just had to wait for our food to be served which kinda fast.

"Bell lets get into Apollo's table," he said before getting up from our seat.

We walked into them who was having a conversation and both of them look so in love, I could see it on their eyes.

"Hey Alex," The tall guy said before giving him a high five and bro hug while I kept smiling like a know nothing.

"Didn't expect that you guys are coming" Alex said.

"Yeah, of course, we have to, my dad sorry he's not feeling well and her brother is in Singapore so we're here," He said as I was kinda nervous cause both of them looked so stunning and gorgeous.

"Hey Lana, long time no see," he said.

"Oh yeah hey Alex, how are ya," she said and she sounded so chill and friendly, she was also comfortably sitting next to her husband.

"Sorry Gabriel he's really busy now," she said then I laughed.

"By the way, this is my girlfriend" Alex introduced me.

"Of course who doesn't know oh my hey I'm Avalana, you can call me Lana or whatever," she said then we shook our hands together while I was smiling like a new student.

"You're with her bro?" Avalana said them it made her husband broke into a laugh.

"I thought you just said who doesn't know," Alex said then I smiled.

"Who doesn't know she's Isabella Clark, I just know that she's your girlfriend I mean how?" Avalana said then it made us laughed.

His husband's eyes never left her, he kept looking at her all the time she was speaking like they're a new happy couple.

"Just kidding," Lana said then it made me laugh she was so friendly and fun.

"But don't worry Alex is a smart ass guy if he loses his job he will probably get another one on the same day,"  Apollo said then it made Alex laughed.

"It is nice to meet you guys Alex have talked about both of you" I smiled while holding on my clutch.

"Woaah really? Anyway, I love your show for Victoria secret? It is amazing I really wanted to come but I couldn't" Lana said then it made me smile brightly.

"Thank you so much" I smiled.

"Okay Apollo we're going to walk around, see you guys around," Alex said with his hands slipped around my waist.

"Bye!" Lana said while waving at us.

Alex and I walked around the room and greeted so many people that I didn't know before, he really good with people and I didn't expect that.

We were in the middle of a conversation but I excused myself to the restroom cause I need to pee, so ran into the restroom alone. The toilet was empty and looking so glamorous with a marble floor and so many lighting inside of it. I put on red lipstick on my lips before walking back into wherever Alex was, the hall was empty all I head was only the tapped of my heels.

I was the only one who was walking until a man stepped out of the men's restroom, the guy wore a brown leather shoe and he turned his head around to look at me. Somehow it made me stopped walking, the guy smiled while his hand fixing his outer. His lips curled into a smirk while his eyes glanced at me,

"Interesting" Derek said which made me only stay in a silent,

"What are you doing here alone?" He asked me, but my mouth wouldn't say a word buy it only made him laughed.

"What? My cousin told you to shout your mouth?" He said, but I shook my head.

"How much does he pay you, Isabella Clark?" He asked me.

"What do you want Derek?" I asked him, I tried to be brave even though my heart was beating fast.

He broke into a laugh buy it terrified me, "what do I want?" He asked me.

"I have everything," he said.

"What do you want Isabella?" He asked me.

"Money?" He asked me then it hurts me.

"I don't know what are you talking about Derek, please excuse me, "I said then walked passing them.

"Bella" he called my name one I walked a quite far from him, I turned around to look at him who was still standing at the same position.

"You know you cannot expect much from Alex right?" He asked me.

I ignored him then I went back to Alex and I's table but he wasn't there, I couldn't find him so I sat there alone while looking around. Thankfully Alex finally back into our table, not a really long time after I met Derek.

"Hey," he said then sat next to me.

"You okay?" He asked me.

"I'm fine," I said before we started to eat our steak that just being served, we watched the performance until the show ended.

"Alex, can we go home now?" I whispered.

"Why?" He asked me while his hands connected to one another, his eyes were trying to make me look at him.

"You look uncomfortable," he said.

"Nothing I just feel tired, we have to pack for our trip to Paris too," I said then he nodded with a smile on his face, he leaned closer before kissed on my cheek.

"Mom, Bella and I are going to go home okay," he said before kissed on his mom's cheek.

"Okay honey," His mom said then I smiled at her.

"Dad," he said to his dad.

"Son" his dad coldly said before both of us walked away from them.
