152. Conflict

Gu Ying said, “Perhaps you’ve thought of it. Your parents didn’t die of an accident.”

Gu Ying said, “The project your parents worked on is still under study by now.”

Gu Ying said, “We have had a few discussions before coming here on whether we should tell you about it. Afterward, our teacher, who is also the person in charge of this project, decided to meet you for once.”

Qi Le’an was dumbfounded, saying, “He wants to meet me? You should know… I know nothing and I even haven’t finished high school.”

Gu Ying was speechless.

Qi Le’an asked with puppy dog eyes, “Did I say something wrong?”

Gu Ying sighed with a complicated look, “To meet you… Just literally, to meet you. After all, your parents…are the best students of my teacher.”

Qi Le’an suddenly realized that the teacher was not asking him for help. He was instantly embarrassed and a little bit afraid.

Gu Ying pretended not to see his look and said, “My teacher is old now. Recently he has known about what happened to you… so, he wants to meet you.”

He learned about what happened to Qi Le’an? What did he know?

Qi Le’an didn’t understand for the moment.

Gu Ying looked at Qi Le’an and couldn’t help but wonder. He clearly heard that Qi Xiaoguo and Lu Pingjin were extremely wise people. How come Qi Le’an seemed like a fool?

“How about this? When is it convenient for you? Oh, I hope that you won’t tell anybody about this.”

Qi Le’an was with Wei Changfeng 24 hours a day. He really didn’t know when it was convenient for him, so he could only say, “I’m not sure.”

Gu Ying was not surprised at all, saying, “Is it because of Wei Changfeng? He will receive an invitation to today’s opening ceremony. So, he will be very busy for the coming week.”

Qi Le’an was shocked. This man not only knew that Qi Le’an came here alone and he followed Qi Le’an here immediately, but also he was aware of  Qi Le’an’s relationship with Wei Changfeng. Now he was even saying that Wei Changfeng would be very busy for the following week?

He couldn’t help but feel a little afraid. How strong was this man’s background?

Or perhaps… was this the so-called power of the state?

At first, Qi Le’an didn’t take the words “don’t tell anybody about this” seriously, but now he didn’t dare to disobey this man. Gu Ying looked at the time and said, “Give me your phone.”

Qi Le’an took out his mobile phone and passed it to Gu Ying as if being bewitched. Gu Ying did a few operations on the phone and then returned it to Qi Le’an. Qi Le’an found that he saved a phone number into the contact list.

“Just make it for the coming few days… Send me a message when you are ready.” Gu Ying said, “Of course, you can choose not to send it but maybe, this is the only chance in your life to learn about your parents.”

Qi Le’an was silent. To learn about his parents was too tempting for him.

Gu Ying stood up and said, “Do you need me to send you home?”

Qi Le’an shook his head. Gu Ying looked like being polite only. Then he said, “Fine. Just remember to contact me.”

After Gu Ying left, Qi Le’an looked at the number and thought for a long time. He was not stupid, and he understood what Gu Ying meant. As long as he made the call and learned about his parents’ past, he would have a great chance of undertaking something.

Qi Le’an couldn’t figure out why he lived his last life, but in this life, he had so many things to deal with.

Well, Gu Ying just said that the ‘teacher’ knew about what had happened to him and thus decided to meet him?

“What had happened to him”… Could it be about his being blacklisted? It couldn’t be about his rebirth anyway.

He couldn’t help but sigh. Since that was the case, he must meet him.

After straightening out his thoughts, Qi Le’an left the house and intended to go home. When he walked out of the community, he suddenly remembered that Wei Changfeng had mentioned that the braised meat in the Haitian Square was amazing and clean. He hesitated for a bit before adjusting his cap and taking a taxi to buy the braised meat there.

The braised meat at this store was famous. Qi Le’an was lucky enough to have only two or three people lining up in front of him. He bought the takeout braised meat that Wei Changfeng loved and planned to go back. When he arrived at the intersection, he found that the road was blocked so he couldn’t take a taxi to go back.

When he heard the passers-by chatting, he realized that some cast and crew were shooting some scenes here so the road had to be blocked for half an hour.

Qi Le’an was wondering what cast and crew were so powerful to have the road blocked in downtown. As there were more and more people gathering here, he hastened to getaway. However, it was not easy to get a taxi here. Besides, it was at noon now, so the sun was baking outside. He didn’t want to walk further. As a result, Qi Le’an had to go into the mall for a meal alone.

With a bag of braised meat, Qi Le’an went into a western restaurant that seemingly had few customers. The waitress recognized him and led him to a private seat in surprise.

Qi Le’an put the braised meat aside and ordered some food for one person. The waitress asked in confusion, “Only food for one?”

Qi Le’an was also a little embarrassed and then said, “Yes.”

The girl looked a bit surprised and then said, “Oh, I’m sorry. I thought you would eat here with Li Zheyu.”

It was fair enough to say that Li Zheyu was the person Qi Le’an hated most. He became sullen instantly. The waitress observed his countenance and looked as if she was going to burst out crying. “I’m sorry… This is the seat reserved by Mr. Li. I thought, I thought…”

Qi Le’an got even more furious. Coincidentally, a group of people came into the western restaurant.

The waitress’s face turned pale.

Li Zheyu went straight here. The west restaurant was not very big so Qi Le’an didn’t even have time to hide away before meeting Li Zheyu face-to-face.

Li Zheyu narrowed his eyes and said, “Hey, who is this?! Where is the restaurant manager? How can you let someone like this guy take my seat?”

The waitress bowed with a pale face and apologized, “I’m sorry. I’ve led the customer to the wrong seat. Mr. Li, could you please take another seat?”

Before Li Zheyu could say anything, his assistant yelled, “Are you new here, huh? Mr. Li only sits in this seat whenever he comes here!”

The waitress almost burst into tears. Qi Le’an was furious and could not stand watching Li Zheyu bullying others, so he grabbed his things and wanted to go to another restaurant.

However, just when he was ready to leave, somebody got in his way.

Li Zheyu sneered, “Le’an, you are too impolite. Why didn’t greet me when you met me?”

As he said this, he looked at the braised meat on the table. Instantly, he put on an exaggerated look. “Oh my god! Look at this! Are you going to eat that junk food? Tsk.”

Qi Le’an was so speechless.

Rage just consumed him now, but he couldn’t allow himself to quarrel with Li Zheyu in public. Li Zheyu was sure that Qi Le’an could never rise again, so he tried his best to mock the latter, not showing any respect at all.

The waitress was already crying. Qi Le’an took a deep breath and said, “Li Zheyu, mind your word.”

A glint of fierceness flashed across Li Zheyu’s eyes.

How could a blacklisted actor have the nerve to talk to him like this? He had shed so many tears at his sugar daddy’s home to get rid of this thorn in his eye! Yet, this man still dared to talk to him like this?

Qi Le’an sneered, “Do you think you will be the spokesman for Coolrunning after I’m blacklisted?”

Li Zheyu’s face instantly turned purple!

There was such a dead silence in the restaurant that even a needle dropping on the floor could be heard. The arrogant assistant of Li Zheyu was also silent too.

The dispute between the two started from the endorsement of Coolrunning. Li Zheyu tried his best to get rid of Qi Le’an and thought he could get the endorsement after Qi Le’an was blacklisted, but it turned out that Coolrunning didn’t have the intent at all.

Qi Le’an’s words were like a harsh slap in his face!

“You!”

“What?” Qi Le’an raised his head and laughed sarcastically. “Li Zheyu, what goes around comes around.”

The voice was full of danger and his expression was as sinister as a ghost. Li Zheyu looked at Qi Le’an in shock with his back in a sweat.

What was wrong with him? No way. Why should he be afraid?

Qi Le’an walked towards Li Zheyu and said, “Get lost.”

What he said was not polite at all. Li Zheyu was so angry that he raised his hand to slap Qi Le’an right away!

However, Qi Le’an was never a lamb waiting to be slaughtered. He parried the slap and then his braised meat all dropped on Li Zheyu’s body. The plastic bag was opened and the meat with soup inside was all over Li Zheyu!

Immediately, screams were heard all over the restaurant. Li Zheyu did not expect that Qi Le’an would dare to do fight back! The assistant aside wanted to wipe off the soup for Li Zheyu but Li Zheyu waved him away. Li Zheyu was about to launch an attack with a ferocious expression!

At first, they were in a corner of the western restaurant and didn’t attract much attention. But the accident just got everybody to notice them! Li Zheyu’s agent realized they would be in trouble so he stopped Li Zheyu instantly!

Qi Le’an said again, “Get lost.”

His expression was cold and the assistant beside couldn’t help but make the way for him. Qi Le’an took two steps before turning to look at the waitress and said, “Let’s go.”

The waitress was so frightened that she couldn’t cry out any tears anymore. After Qi Le’an called her, she just followed him without thinking much.

Qi Le’an took two steps and stopped again.

He turned to look at one of the assistants who stood closest to him and said, “The braised meat Li Zheyu spilled cost me 137.5 yuan. Please transmit the money to my agent as soon as possible. Otherwise…”

He looked around and then saw the other waiters in the distance who didn’t dare to come near. Then, he took out his phone and pressed the play button of a video.

The voice of Li Zheyu came from inside. Qi Le’an had recorded everything. He smiled and said, “I don’t know what will happen then.”

The assistant didn’t dare to say a word. Qi Le’an just turned around and left.

There was a loud noise behind him. No need to think, he knew what Li Zheyu had done. Qi Le’an smiled sarcastically and swaggered out of the western restaurant.

A beggar could never be bankrupt. Since he had a video that recorded everything, everybody could see that Li Zheyu was the one who picked on him.

Li Zheyu, you would pay for what you had done to me.
