Chapter 856 - Confession

Seeing Gao Yang’s back, Xia Ning’s heart skipped a beat. An uneasy feeling overwhelmed her.

What did Gao Yang mean by spending the night?!

“Xiao Ke, is it really okay?” Jin Yan looked at Xia Ning worriedly. “This Young Master Gao seems to have some misunderstandings.”

Xia Ning saw the blood under his nose and said with a frown, “That’s a small matter. Go wash your nose first. Otherwise, it’ll be hard to wash later.”

“Sure.” Jin Yan nodded and walked to the bathroom at the end of the hallway.

Seeing Jin Yan’s back, Xia Ning frowned a little. Gao Yang had indeed misunderstood her. Plus, it must have been a big misunderstanding. She hit him today and he would hate her even more.

The car stopped at the gate of the Mountain Villa. Xia Ning saw the bright lights inside and frowned. She took out her phone and called Zheng Ziming. “A press conference tomorrow.”

Her instincts told her that a long delay may give rise to many a hitch.

She would use her actions to tell Qiao Yu that she really wanted to be with him.

The moment she walked in, Xia Ning smelled food. She looked at the man sitting on the couch and smiled. “I’m back.”

Qiao Yu saw her when she walked in. He stood up and walked to her. “Are you tired?” He took the bag from her hand with a gentle face.

Xia Ning shook her head. “I’m not tired.” She took a look at the food on the table and asked, “Have you not eaten yet?”

“No, I waited for you.” Qiao Yu looked at Xia Ning. “Have you eaten?”

“I did, but I’m not full. So I can eat with you,” Xia Ning answered.

Qiao Yu nodded and held Xia Ning’s hand as they walked to the table.

The dinner was very sumptuous. There were five dishes and one soup. They were all Xia Ning’s favorites.

Xia Ning saw the food in his bowl and picked some food for him. “Eat more.”

“Sure,” Qiao Yu answered. He looked at the food in his bowl and his dark eyes moved. He picked it up and started eating.

“I ran into Gao Yang tonight,” Xia Ning said after some consideration. She did not want to have any misunderstandings with him because of Gao Yang.

Qiao Yu looked at her curiously. “Huh?”

Xia Ning looked at Qiao Yu with a calm face. So Gao Yang did not tell him?!

“Nothing. I just wanted to tell you.” Xia Ning smiled calmly and picked up some food for him. “Eat more.”

Gao Yang’s words were so unpleasant. If she told Qiao Yu, it would be like she was complaining. No matter how much she disliked Gao Yang, she did not want to talk bad about others behind his back.

Qiao Yu looked at Xia Ning who was busy eating and his eyes turned dark. He put down his chopsticks suddenly and took a bowl of soup for her.

After dinner, Xia Ning thought of the matching index online and could not help but ask, “Did you hire a water army to do that kind of matching index?”

“It was Chen Hong.” Qiao Yu held her hand and continued, “I’ll be holding a press conference as well. That’s why I don’t want to turn things around too fast lest the public throws dirt on you again. That’s why the matching index is like that.”

Xia Ning was stupefied and looked at Qiao Yu with surprise.

Qiao Yu looked at her as well and held her hand. He said in a low voice, “I can’t let you face the gossips alone.”

Xia Ning smiled and leaned into his arms. She felt relieved immediately. “I’ll hold a press conference tomorrow.”

“Sure, mine is tomorrow as well. It will start one hour later than yours.”

“Ok,” Xia Ning answered.

Qiao Yu hugged her and did not speak. No matter what others said, he knew what he wanted.
