Chapter 352
The Love From Vengeance
352: LINE IN THE SAND ARIELâS POV Larry approached us, and I quickly scrambled to my feet, brushing off the dirt from my clothes. His expression was a mix of concern and irritation as he looked between me and his family.
âAriel, whatâs going on here?â He asked, his tone edged with a hint of frustration.
I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts before launching into an explanation. âYour brother and parents are trying to intimidate me into backing down from exposing the truth about what theyâve done to my familyâs business,â I began, my voice steady despite the lingering ache from Simonâs shove.
Larryâs eyebrows furrowed, his gaze flickering to his family before settling back on me. What truth?
What have they done?â
âThey used their power to ruin my familyâs business, all because theyâre trying to support hat scumbag right there. A scumbag who doesnât deserve respect. Simon tried to assault me, but my family saved me from his brutality. With that, your father went ahead and ruined our companyâs name because of his wealth. Because he has all the power in the world, and now that Iâve come to confront him, they are treating me like shit.â
Larryâs expression darkened, his jaw clenching as he absorbed my words. âI had no idea,â he muttered, his voice low with disbelief.
âIâm not surprised,â I replied bitterly. âTheyâve been careful to keep their actions hidden, but I wonât let them get away with it.*
He ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident in his movements. âThis is unacceptable. I canât believe they would stoop so low.â
âBelieve it. âAnd unless someone from within their own family stands up to them, theyâll continue to destroy everything in their path.â
Larryâs eyes met mine, a flicker of resolve shining through the turmoil. âI wonât let that happen. Iâll talk to them; make them see reason.â
I shook my head, a bitter laugh escaping my lips. âI doubt theyâll listen to you, Larry. Their own greed and power too consume them.â
[
He sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. âEven so, I have to try. I canât let them ruin everything.â
352 LINE IN THE SAND I reached out and placed a reassuring hand on his arm. âThank you, Larry. I appreciate your support more than you know.â.
He gave me a small nod. âI promise Iâll do whatever it takes to make this right, Ariel â
âHold on a minute, donât tell me youâre going to take her side now, son,â his mother told him.
Larry turned to her. âMom, please. Why do you people have to be so rude towards her?â
âWhat are you trying to do here, young man?â Mr. Kingston questioned Larry.
âIâm only doing whatâs right, father.â
âAnd what do you think is right?â Simon budged into the conversation with a loud voice.
âI wasnât talking to you, brother. I think itâs best you just hold it there,â Larry retorted. He turned back to his parents. âSo, I did hear about the Walkers going down, but I didnât know youâre responsible for it, father.â
âLarry, youâve lost your mind!â Mr. Kingston thundered, his face flushing with anger. âHow are you speak to me like that? Youâre nothing without this familyâs legacy!â
rched as Larry squared his shoulders, refusing to back down. âI may be your son, but that doesnât mean Iâll stand by silently while you destroy others for your own gain.â
Mrs. Kingston scoffed. âYouâre being ridiculous, Larry. Donât fall for this girlâs falsehoods.
Larryâs jaw clenched, but he remained composed. âItâs not about Ariel, Mom. Itâs about whatâs right.â
Simon sneered, his arrogance evident. âRight? What do you know about whatâs right? Youâre just a naive kid who doesnât understand how the real world works.â
Larry shot back, his voice steady despite the tension crackling in the air. âMaybe I am naive, but I refuse to become like you, Simon. I wonât sacrifice my morals for the sake of power.
Mr. Kingstonâs face contorted with rage. âYouâre a disgrace to this family, Larry! If you continue down this path, youâll regret it for the rest of your life.â
But Larry didnât waver. âMaybe so, but at least Iâll be able to live with myself, knowing I stood up for whatâs right.â
I could see the conflict in Larryâs eyes as he faced his familyâs fury, but his resolve remained unshaken.
He was determined to make peace, even if it meant facing their wrath. At this point, I knew I had an ally in this fight.

He doesnât deserve to be called your son,â Simon said, a âWhat are you saying, Simon?â Mrs. Kingston questioned him. âPlease donât say that. Heâs not in his right senses at the moment, but that doesnât mean I love him.â
Mr. Kingston sighed. âOh, shut up. Stop being emotional. Larry is trying to challenge me, and he is going to suffer for it.
âDad, you have to understand my point here.â Larry continued to stand his ground, pleading with his father to reconsider his actions, I admired his unwavering determination. Despite his familyâs verbal onslaught, he remained resolute in this situation.
âLarry, please,â I interjected, fixing my hand on his shoulder. âWe can find another way to handle this.
We donât need to resort to threats and ultimatums.â
He glanced at me, a flicker of gratitude in his eyes, before returning his attention to his father. âDad, please listen to me. I donât want to see our family torn apart over this. There has to be a way to make things right without destroying everything weâve built.â
Mr. Kingstonâs face hardened, his eyes narrowing as he regarded his son with disdain. âYou dare to question my authority in front of everyone? Youâre a disgrace, Larry. I raised you to be better than this.â
âIâm not questioning your authority, Dad. Iâm questioning your ethics. What youâre doing is wrong, and I canât stand by and watch it happen.â
His fatherâs lips curled into a sneer. âFine. If thatâs how you feel, then you leave me no choice. Youâre no longer welcome in this familyâs business. Consider yourself disowned.â
The words hung heavy in the air, a clear tension settling over us. I could see the hurt and betrayal in Larryâs eyes, but beneath it was a glimmer of relief as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
âIâm sorry it had to come to this, Dad,â Larry said, his voice filled with sorrow. But I canât IN LINE IN THE SAND condone what youâve done. Iâll find my own path that aligns with my principles and values.â
He turned around to face me and said, âCome on, Ariel, letâs go.â
âLarry, wait!â His mother spoke audibly.
