Chapter 54
The Love From Vengeance
54: A HUNDRED BILLION FEATS ARIELâS POV âLet go of me, you.â I demanded that Luke release me from his hands.
âYou were trying to act stubborn, right? You donât know how crazy I can get.â Luke smirked, his manly hands still on my back.
âI think I do. I have lived with you for three good years.â All the moments were still etched in my head.
âDo you have to bring the past back into all of our conversation?â Luke asked. He clearly knew how I was hurt occasionally those years.
âI can never forget those memories.â These words needed to be stuck in that head of his.
âI donât care about that. Iâm just looking forward to our wedding tomorrow.âHe talked like he was actually happy about that.
I rolled my eyes. âYeah right. Getting married to you again. Such an important day in my life.â My tone was sarcastic.
âI see youâre about to start another unnecessary talk. But guess what? Iâm not up for that.â His smile was so annoying.
âGo to hell,â I said harsly.
âJust shut up, will you?â He had the nerve to tell me this.
âMake me.â I had to feign a smile. What the hell was he going to do anyway?
54: A HUNDRED BILLION FEATS âOh, I will,â Luke said, moving his face closer and looking deep into my eyes.
His gaze and his breath said a lot of things. The feeling of his fingers transfigured. Yes, his touch was now different, and this spark was unfolding within me.
After seconds of silence, our eyes were still locked in, and our lips drew closer. He still had a hold of me, and my hands were wrapped around his neck. It was quite sensational, staring into his bewitching eyes.
The feeling was unthinkable, and the look he gave me said a hundred billion feats. I tried to grasp this, since the moment was unimaginable.
His lips were extremely close to mine, and my eyes were closed as I continued to feel his warm breath.
But then I had to come back to my senses. There was no way some beauty would get the best of me. I was not going to be captivated by this. I would never let go of the past.
Staring at Luke, I pinched him at the back of his neck, and he let out an inaudible scream in pain. He wanted to let go of me, but I wrapped my hands around his neck tightly.
âAre you crazy? Do you want me to slam me to the floor?â I bawled at him.
âYou birdbrain, you were the one who pinched me.â Luke glared, returning the tone.
âYeah, but I didnât say you should let go of me!â Seriously, he didnât have to do that. Whereâs the respect for a lady?
âOh, Iâm going to throw you to the floor.â He smirked. His sardonic countenance made me sick every second.
âYou wouldnât dare.â My tone was deep.
54: A HUNDRED BILLION FEATS âDonât tempt me,â Luke said, the smirk still lingering on his visage.
âYou scumbag!â I bawled, and I pinched him again. This time, it was harder than the first. I was going to show him how crazy I could get.
After that, Luke flung me to the bed, and I screamed while he did that.
Damn, this man was crazier than I expected. I never thought he was actually going to throw me off his arm. He did that just because I pinched him? Payback? What the heck!
âWhat the hell is wrong with you?â Luke snarled. I wasnât terrified of his screams. I wasnât that same Ariel back then, when we were still married.
âNothing. Absolutely nothing,â I answered calmly, not glancing at him.
âYouâve gone nuts, I see.â Luke brought out his crazy thoughts. He shouldnât be surprised, right?
âI was just trying to be like you.â These words I said, accompanied with a grin.
âI donât think so,â Luke uttered bitterly. âAre you going to get up or not?â
âNot doing that; my leg hurts.â I refused to do what he said.
âIâll just have to carry you then. But donât pinch me, okay?â
âWhy are you eager to take me to your house, huh? What do you have under your sleeves?â I quizzed, not that curious though.
âNothing. Iâm just trying to take my lovely wife home. Is there anything wrong with that?â He uttered.
Slow tone, feigned smile.
54: A HUNDRED BILLION FEATS âWoah, woah, woah. Hold on there; I am not your wife.â I didnât want him to start living in his imagination.
âYouâll soon be. In just about a matter of time.â
âI can see youâre really excited about this.â But honestly, I didnât think he was.
âOf course I am, since itâs for my grandfather.â Yeah, he was obviously lying. That tone didnât sound genuine.
âOh gosh, this is so annoying,â I said beneath my breath as I took my eyes down.
âJust get up, will you?â
âNo,â I replied instantly.
âI said get up.â Lukeâs tone became harsh.
âI said no.â I was able to match his pace.
âYouâre going to be my wife, so you better start doing what I tell you to:â
âYouâre not my boss,â I retorted.
âWives are supposed to be submissive to their husbands,â Luke said, taking some steps forward.
âNot me.â I threw a comeback, standing up from the bed.
Surveying the billionaire standing in front of me, frowining, I treaded to the door, walking past him.
54: A HUNDRED BILLION FEATS âYou want to take me to your house, right? Okay, then, letâs go.â
Luke stood still, giving me that ugly stare. But he shook his head with a sigh, washing away the negative thoughts.
I raised an eyebrow at him, the expression clearly telling him to get his butts in my direction.
âYeah, letâs go,â he said in a whisper, and stepped to me.
I walked out of the room, leading the way, with Luke moving behind me.
âAre you strong enough to walk?â He asked, as if he cared about me.
âYes, I am,â I replied, turning to him with a smile. âItâs not like youâre concerned anyway.
âCan you just be calm and act nice for just a minute? Youâve really been stressing me out, honestly,â
Luke enunciated, installing his hands on his waist.
âI would have, but this is what you did to me. You broke me, and thatâs what led to this strong heart.
âOkay, at least I made you strong.â
I chuckled. âDonât make me laugh.â
âTrue talk,â Luke said, nodding. âNow move.â
âIâm going to, but not because Iâm scared of you.
Luke took his gaze elsewhere. âI couldnât care less.â
54: A HUNDRED BILLION FEATS I was about to move forward, and suddenly, the intense pain in my belly unfolded again, causing me to stumble. However, Luke caught me before I could land on the floor. Cleaving my hands, he pulled me closer to his body, wrapping his hands around my waist. I would have thrust him back, but the pain took full control of me.
âI knew you werenât strong enough to walk,â Luke said softly, looking into my eyes.
âIf you knew, then why did you have to come here to drag me to your house?â I leaned my head on his chest. It was not something I wanted to do. But the pain right now was so out of the world.
âI need to go back,â I said in hushed tones, and I wanted to make my way back to the room, but Luke refused to let go of me.
âNo, youâre not going back. Iâm taking you home,â he whispered.
I looked him in the eyes, and he slowly carried me in his arms. After gazing at me, he embarked on walking.
